  • Localizing a JSF 1.2 application with UTF-8 resources

    (WARNING: this is my first java application, coming from .NET, so don't bash me if I write too much garbage) I'm developing a simple JSF 1.2 web application which should support Russian, Chinese, and other languages outside ISO 8859-1, which is automatically used in Properties.load(). Is there a way to use the Properties loaded from XML files, with Properties.loadFromXml(), inside JSF, without writing too much code? I know there are alternative ways to do so (writing my own loader, escaping the characters...), but I'd really love to find a simple solution, and I don't see it in all the forums I checked. Thanks in advance for any help

    Hi, I guess this is a newbie question, but what is the syntax in a form to show contents of fields not as a text box/area, but rather like label would appear. <% form_for @user do |f| %> <% f.fields_for :user_ingreds do |builder| %> <p> <%= builder.??? %> </p> <% end %> <% end%> user has many user_ingreds and accepts_nested_attributes for user_ingreds. Basically I want to make a list of user_ingreds where the user can't edit the data but can remove the record from the list via a button - however the fields_for builder doesn't recognize a direct call to to the fields in user_ingreds model (ie, builder.user_id throws and error.

I am trying to create a method that returns the specified property of a generic object e.g. public object getValue<TModel>(TModel item, string propertyName) where TModel : class{ PropertyInfo p = typeof(TModel).GetProperty(propertyName); return p.GetValue(item, null); } The code above works fine if you're looking for a property on the TModel item e.g. string customerName = getValue<Customer>(customer, "name"); However, if you want to find out what the customer's group's name is, it becomes a problem: e.g. string customerGroupName = getValue<Customer>(customer, "Group.name"); Hoping someone can give me some insight on this way out scenario - thanks.

In the real code it packages the function for a thread to execute. func would the function executed by the other thread, doit sits in between to check for unhandled exceptions and to clean up. But the additional bind in func_wrapper messes things up...

    I'm trying to write unit test for a flow, which has subflow, which, itself, has another subflow. I register first flow using FlowDefinitionResource getResource(FlowDefinitionResourceFactory resourceFactory). Then I register subflow definitions during test execution in FlowDefinitionRegistry before transitioning to them. Transitioning to "first level" subflow goes ok. The result of transitioning to subflow of current subflow - NoSuchFlowDefinitionException. The problem is that subflow definitions are all seem attached to the primary flow of the test and subflow can't be found within another subflow. Is there any way to attach subflow definition to another subflow in tests, which extend AbstractXmlFlowExecutionTests?

I know I can do that easily by following code snippet. <%$ Resources:[filename prefix,]resource-key %> or <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" meta:resourcekey="resource-key-prefix" /> But I would also like to parameterized it. e.g. Above Resource Expression will give me message like "Fill Information.". What I have in resource file is "Fill {0} Information." which should show end user message like "Fill Address Information.".

    I'm a bit confused by the proper frame sizing of a table view to fit within my screen. Here's my setup of view controllers within view controllers: UITabBarController UINavigationController as one of the tab bar viewcontrollers; title bar hidden ViewController - a container view controller because I need the option to place some controls beneath the UITableView, sometimes (but not in the current scenario) UITableViewController Now, my question is what the proper frame dimensions of the UITableview should be. Here's what I've got in the ViewController viewDidLoad method. I used subtracted 49.0 (the size of the tab bar) from 480.0. However, this leaves a black bar at the bottom. 20.0 appears to do it (coincidentally?) the size of the status bar, but I don't understand why that would be.     I have an array as follows array(2) { ["operator"] => array(2) { ["qty"] => int(2) ["id"] => int(251) } ["accessory209"] => array(2) { ["qty"] => int(1) ["id"] => int(209) } ["accessory211"] => array(2) { ["qty"] => int(1) ["id"] => int(211) } } I'm trying to find a way to verify an id value exists within the array and return bool. I'm trying to figure out a quick way that doesn't require creating a loop. Using the in_array function did not work, and I also read that it is quite slow. In the php manual someone recommended using flip_array() and then isset(), but I can't get it to work for a 2-d array. doing something like if($array['accessory']['id'] == 211) would also work for me, but I need to match all keys containing accessory -- not sure how to do that Anyways, I'm spinning in circles, and could use some help. This seems like it should be easy. Thanks.

From what I can tell, this is the default behavior in wxWidgets, but the wxHaskell wrapper specifically disables this behavior. However, the library code that creates new elements has me very confused.   • Alternative to singleton for unique resources

    I keep reading over and over again that one should avoid using singletons for various reasons. I'm wondering how to correctly handle a situation where a class represents a unique system resource. For example, a AudioOutput class using SDL. Since SDL_OpenAudio can only be open once at a time it makes no sense having more then one object of this type and it seems to me preventing accidentally making more then one object would actually be good. Just wondering what experienced programmers think about this, am i missing another option ?

    I am trying to grok the output of a function which doesn't have the courtesy of setting a result code. I can tell it failed by the "error:" string which is mixed into the stderr stream, often in the middle of a different conversion status message. I have the following list comprehension which works, but scans for the "error:" string twice. Since it is only rescanning the actual error lines, it works fine, but it annoys me I can't figure out how to use a single scan. Here's the working code: errors = [e[e.find('error:'):] for e in err.splitlines() if 'error:' in e] The obvious (and wrong) way to simplify is to save the "find" result errors = [e[i:] for i in e.find('error:') if i != -1 for e in err.splitlines()] However, I get "UnboundLocalError: local variable 'e' referenced before assignment". Blindly reversing the 'for's in the comprehension also fails. How is this done? THanks. Kent

    I have this terrible problem with IE 7/8/9. I wrote an app using Dojo toolkit 1.8.0 and Play! framework. It works fine in all browser except for IE. Its 'developers tools' show no error, so does firebug. The sub query in #2 selects all Ids from S, and then it returns all R's that also have those ID's, no?     Hi. I subscribe to usb inserted event like this select * FROM __INSTANCECREATIONEVENT WITHIN 3 WHERE TARGETINSTANCE ISA Win32_DiskDrive After inserting usb flash it blinks every 3 seconds. This is polling interval and intrinsic events work by polling object that's in query. Now, we know these types of events may be resource expensive. (Putting value greater then 3 sometimes chokes these events and client program doesn't get notified). Are there other ways to do that, so that usb doesn't get scanned all the time? May be there some extrinsic events available? Right now the only solution I see is to unsubscribe from event above once it trigerred and resubscribe to it in __INSTANCEDELETIONEVENT handler.
