  • rs232 PTZ cameras software program for control

    Does anyone know of a program that would allow you to control multiple IR cameras via usb (computer jack) to rs232 (camera hardware)? We have a cameraswitcher, very low key, that I can press buttons and it willswitch the view of the camera from one to the next. currently I control the cameras by sellecting the cameras via a remote control for change of angles. Does anyone know anything that could give me some ability to do manual controls via my computer?. Please Advise, thanks!

    I'm trying to perform password quality checks using pwqcheck (part of passwdq) in webmin. Unfortunately when I set in "Users and Groups" module settings the "External password-checking program" to the same value that works for samba check password script: /usr/bin/pwqcheck -1 I get following error when I try to create a user (named test-user): Failed to save user : pwqcheck: Error parsing parameter "test-user": Invalid parameter So, How do I configure Webmin together with pwqcheck?

  • Uninstalling a program doesn't remove shortcuts from Start menu

    This problem started very recently after a system restore. Each time I uninstall a program, it uninstalls correctly but the shortcuts remain in the Start menu. I can easily delete them by right-clicking on them, but it is an irritant and I was wondering why this is hapenning. I tried changing the permissions on C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs but it did not help. What else can I try? I am using Windows 7 Home Premium.

  • Mac Snow Leopard opening the same program in multiple Spaces

    I noticed that if I had Safari open in say, Space 1, I would be sent back to Space 1 if I tried to open Safari in any other space. Now I know that I can open multiple windows of Safari in Space 1 and then just move the windows manually, but is there an easy way to open an already opened program in a new Space?

    I've looked at CodeLocker (poorly styled and relatively unflexible, but free) and Source Code Library (Overzone software - very nicely styled, looks flexible, but very expensive - $80). Ideally, I'm looking for a relatively simple, inexpensive program (not an online website) that I can save text data (source code) with a title and keywords, maybe even a description. It would also have some type of search functionality.

  • Win7 finding location of installed program

    Usually on windows XP if I wanted to know the location of an installed program I would just click 'Properties' and it would show where the executable is located. On windows 7 I do the same thing and I get this: How can I find out where programs are located based on the shortcut? I did however notice that for some programs it does show a shortcut under the 'Target', but not in the case with iTunes for example.

    system info: i have installed XAMPP on my machine having Window XP OS . also installed Apache2.2, now, i have created two folders in C:\xampp\htdocs they are php and perl . these folder contains programs in their respective languages (ie index.php and index.pl respectively) when i type in browser : http: //localhost:88/php/ the program in index.php gets executed and o/p is displayed in browser but , when i type: http://localhost:88/perl/ browser displays a blank page PROBLEM : how to run .pl file in above scenario ?

Is there any way that I can read some Korean text file in text editor easily without using Microsoft Word? I need an environment that can support multiple unicode easily, I need to read Chinese, Japanese, Korean in text editor (Ultraeditor, notepad++) and terminal clients like SecureCRT.     These two commands produce files that are slightly different in size. In particular: tar --use-compress-program=pbzip2 -cf old_logs.tbz2 1tree_* 4tree_* 8tree_* The file old_logs.tbz2 is 100557548 bytes large. The command: tar jcf old_logs.tbz 1tree_* 4tree_* 8tree_* produce the file old_logs.tbz that is 98783046 bytes large. Where the difference in the two files originate from ? I'm using bsdtar 2.8.3 - libarchive 2.8.3 on mac osx 10.8.5.
