  SharePoint 2010 Training: more information Greetings! I will be speaking at NNUG Kristiansand tonight (sorry for the very short notice). So I was thinking what should I demo tonight?Hmm!!!Instead of using any slides or such material, what I thought would be a tonne of fun, would be to develop a service bus based application running in Azure. This will be a good opportunity to code and talk, and run into some snafus and show off some VS2012 improvements/annoyances. At the end of an apprx. 1 hour talk, I hope to have an application ready that you can run yourself by the end of the evening. hehe :) .. now that’s cool isn’t it? :) ..   CDI 1.1 is humming along nicely and recently released it's public review draft. Although it's just a point release, CDI 1.1 actually has a lot in it. Some the changes include: The CDI class, which provides programmatic access to CDI facilities from outside a managed bean Ability to veto beans declaratively using @Vetoed Conversations in Servlet requests Application lifecycle events in Java EE Injection of Bean metadata into bean instances Programmatic access to a container provided Producer, InjectionTarget, AnnotatedType Ability to override attributes of a Bean via BeanAttributes Ability to process modules via ProcessModule Ability to wrap the InjectionPoint Honor WEB-INF/classes/META-INF/beans.xml to activate WEB-INF/classes in a bean archive Global ordering and enablement of interceptors and decorators Global selection of alternatives @New deprecated Clarify interceptors and decorators must be implemented using proxying Allow multiple annotated types per Java class Allow Extensions to specify the annotations that they are interested in The CDI 1.1 expert group has a number of open issues that they would like immediate feedback on. • Building My First JavaFX Application Using Netbeans 7.1

  Angela Caicedo, Oracle Technology Evangelist for JavaFX, has released a series of videos demonstrating how to build a simple JavaFX application using Netbeans 7.1. This video series is a great introduction to using JavaFX and takes the viewer through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions, including example code and showing the results along the way. These videos are highly recommend to anyone who is new to JavaFX and is looking for a quick getting started guide.  The first video provides an introduction to the the application and shows viewers the end result of the exercises that will be demonstrated throughout the series. The second video (Part 1) demonstrates how to get started creating the application from an empty project to build your first JavaFX application in Netbeans 7.1. Instructions include defining the components, creating and inserting image packages, adding the resources you want to make available in your application, setting the clipping area for you image, and setting the style for your image to create a transparent window. The third video (Part 2) demonstrates how to handle events and binding in the sample application using JavaFX.
