  • Android ant script workaround?

    It appears that, in the transition between the Android 1.1 sdk and 1.5, Google radically changed how ant scripts using AAPT can build Android projects. Previously they support args allowing developers to specify source, res, asset, and a manifest for a particular build. Now, they seem to allow developers to specify only a single folder containing everything. While I could rewrite all our build scripts to work in this new way, I rather like our current system (as it doesn't require more hours of work that I don't have). To that end, has anyone figured out how to go back to the pre 1.5 method of ant script building? Further, has anyone found a rational reason for this change?

    Using Solaris I have a monitoring script that uses other scripts as plugins. Theses pugins are also scripts which work in difffernt ways like: 1. Sending an alert while high memory uilization 2. High Cpu usage 3. Full disk Space 4. chekcking the core file dump Now all this is dispalyed on my terminal and I want to put them in a HTML file/format and send it as a body of the mail not as attachment. Thanks .

  • What is considered a long execution time?

    I am trying to figure out just how "efficient" my server-side code is. Using start and end microtime(true) values, I am able to calculate the time it took my script to run. I am getting times from .3 - .5 seconds. These scripts do a number of database queries to return different values to the user. What is considered an efficient execution time for PHP scripts that will be run online for a website? Note: I know it depends on exactly what is being done, but just consider this a standard script that reads from a database and returns values to the user. Also, I look at Google and see them search the internet in .15 seconds and I feel like my script is crap. Thanks.

    How do you execute a Unix shell command (awk script, a pipe etc) on a cluster in parallel (step 1) and collect the results back to a central node (step 2) Hadoop seems to be a huge overkill with its 600k LOC and its performance is terrible (takes minutes just to initialize the job) i don't need shared memory, or - something like MPI/openMP as i dont need to synchronize or share anything, don't need a distributed VM or anything as complex Google's SawZall seems to work only with Google proprietary MapReduce API some distributed shell packages i found failed to compile, but there must be a simple way to run a data-centric batch job on a cluster, something as close as possible to native OS, may be using unix RPC calls i liked rsync simplicity but it seem to update remote notes sequentially, and you cant use it for executing scripts as afar as i know switching to Plan 9 or some other network oriented OS looks like another overkill i'm looking for a simple, distributed way to run awk scripts or similar - as close as possible to data with a minimal initialization overhead, in a nothing-shared, nothing-synchronized fashion Thanks Alex

  • ASP.NET MVC TDD with LINQ and SQL database

    I am trying to start a new MVC project with tests and I thought the best way to go would have 2 databases. 1 for testing against and 1 for when I run the app and use it (also test really as it's not production yet). For the test database I was thinking of putting create table scripts and fill data scripts within the test setup method and then deleting all this in the tear down method. I am going to be using Linq to SQL though and I don't think that will allow me to do this? Will I have to just go the ADO route if I want to do it this way? Or should I just use a mock object and store data as an array or something?. Any tips on best practices? How did Jeff go about doing this for StackOveflow?

  • selenium RC doesnt run the whole test suite

    I'm trying to run an html testSuite with Selenium RC. The browser starts, the first test runs, and it stops. It doesnt continue to the second test case. I named both the test cases with .html extension. IAm using Firefox. If i run them manually , individually from the selenium RC test runner window they run ok. what am i missing, this seems pretty simple but yet iam not able to get this working.   • Recommended Model Based Testing Tools

    Does anyone have any suggestions on what Model Based Testing Tools to use? Is Spec Explorer/SPEC# worth it's weight in tester training? What I have traditionally done is create a Visio Model where I call out the states and associated variables, outputs and expected results from each state. Then in a completely disconnected way, I data drive my test scripts with those variables based on that model. But, they are not connected. I want a way to create a model, associate the variables in a business friendly way, that will then build the data parameters for the scripts. I can't be the first person to need this. Is there a tool out there that will do basically that? Short of developing it myself.

    hi guys, i have this scripts which extracts all my folder's and files from my c:\projects locations and put its in winrar and transfers them to c:\backup\project for /f "delims==" %%D in ('DIR C:\projects /A /B /S') do ( "C:\Program Files\WinRAR\WinRAR.EXE" m -r "c:\backup\projects.rar" "%%D" ) i have also tried the below script which uses the same source c:\projects but put them in their own separate winrar folder like in the source then transfers the folders into my c:\backup. FOR /F "DELIMS==" %%D in ('DIR C:\projects /AD /B') DO ( "C:\Program Files\WinRAR\WinRAR.EXE" m -r "C:\Backup\%%D.rar" "%%D" ) my question is, my second scripts only takes two hours to run when my first script takes over 24 hours to run, is there any way to make my first script faster? if anything shouldn't my first script be faster?

When I run scripts to alter views with the new column the script fails because the columns are not recognized Msg 207, Level 16, State 1, Procedure UniqueTempDispositions, Line 76 Invalid column name 'servicerequestid'. Msg 207, Level 16, State 1, Procedure NonPIICachedDispositions, Line 18 Invalid column name 'ServiceRequestID'. Any reason why? Am I missing something? I've started and stopped the server, I've relogged in to no avail.

    Hello, I'm using Eclipse IDE + remote Xdebug. EclipseIDE is listening 9000 port for some kind of Xdebug information. There are some php scripts running by cron on server. So, every cron execution xdebug is sending information to my workstation and EclipseIDE is trying to find this file in my project. But file couldn't be find because cron running scrits do not relate to the project I'm working with. So, every cron run Eclipse IDE is alerting this message http://img2.pict.com/22/fc/86/3299517/0/screenshot2b142.png I've tried to add to cron executed php scripts some strings... if (function_exists('xdebug_disable')) { xdebug_disable(); } ... but it didn't helped.   • 256 colors, foreground and background

    This is a tale of two scripts and is related to a previous question. The two scripts are at http://gist.github.com/50692. The ansi.rb script displays all 256 colors on all 256 background colors. The ncurses.rb script displays all 256 foreground colors but the background displays the basic 16 and then seems to cycle through various attributes like blinking and reverse video. So what gives? Is this the bug in ncurses that it uses a signed integer for color pairs? (ie 'tput colors' says 256 but 'tput pairs' says 32767 instead 65536) It seems like if that were the case the first half of the colors pairs would display properly but the second half would repeat or get into the attributes as the int wraps.

  • Installing my sdist from PyPI puts the files in the wrong places

My problem is that when I upload my Python package to PyPI, and then install it from there using pip, my app breaks because it installs my files into completely different locations than when I simply install the exact same package from a local sdist. Installing from the local sdist puts files on my system like this: /Python27/ Lib/ site-packages/ gloopy-0.1.alpha-py2.7.egg/ (egg and install info files) data/ (images and shader source) doc/ (html) examples/ (.py scripts that use the library) gloopy/ (source) This is much as I'd expect, and works fine (e.g. my source can find my data dir, because they lie next to each other, just like they do in development.) If I upload the same sdist to PyPI and then install it from there, using pip, then things look very different: /Python27/ data/ (images and shader source) doc/ (html) Lib/ site-packages/ gloopy-0.1.alpha-py2.7.egg/ (egg and install info files) gloopy/ (source files) examples/ (.py scripts that use the library) This doesn't work at all - my app can't find its data files, plus obviously it's a mess, polluting the top-level /python27 directory with all my junk. What am I doing wrong? How do I make the pip install behave like the local sdist install? Is that even what I should be trying to achieve? Details I have setuptools installed, and also distribute, and I'm calling distribute_setup.use_setuptools() WindowsXP, Python2.7. My development directory looks like this: /gloopy /data (image files and GLSL shader souce read at runtime) /doc (html files) /examples (some scripts to show off the library) /gloopy (the library itself) My MANIFEST.in mentions all the files I want to be included in the sdist, including everything in the data, examples and doc directories: recursive-include data *.* recursive-include examples *.py recursive-include doc/html *.html *.css *.js *.png include LICENSE.txt include TODO.txt My setup.py is quite verbose, but I guess the best thing is to include it here, right?     Designing forms has always been fun, but getting them to send email on the server side is another story. I have used various email scripts (dynaform,phpmailer, etc), and have experienced a ton of problems. So here is the site I am working on: Contact On the Right. It is very basic: no validation, no required fields. I simply need anything that is entered to be sent back to me. Does anyone know of any BASIC PHP form processing scripts, or have a few lines of code that would work here? I'm not a PHP guy, so I am struggling! Thanks in advance.

    I have developed a HTTP Handler Web Service, and have had it successfully deployed, through testing on other environments i've ran into another problem. This is the error message I receive: You have attempted to execute a CGI, ISAPI, or other executable program from a directory that does not allow programs to be executed. HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied. Internet Information Services (IIS) So it is obvious what needs to be fixed, so: 1) Start Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. 2) Right-click the Web site that contains the SharePoint Web site that you created, and then click Properties. 3) Click the Home Directory tab. 4) Under Application settings, click either Scripts only in the Execute permissions list or Scripts and Executables in the Execute permissions list (as appropriate to your situation). Click OK. 5) Quit IIS Manager. But I'm still getting the same error. So what else could be wrong?

  • How can I compile a Perl script inside a running Perl session?

    I have a Perl script that takes user input and creates another script that will be run at a later date. I'm currently going through and writing tests for these scripts and one of the tests that I would like to perform is checking if the generated script compiles successfully (e.g. perl -c <script>.) Is there a way that I can have Perl perform a compile on the generated script without having to spawn another Perl process? I've tried searching for answers, but searches just turn up information about compiling Perl scripts into executable programs.

  • drupal's hook_preprocess_page not working as expected

    i am having an issue where hook_preprocess_page 's changes to &$variables is not being rendered, even though it is the last item under $theme_registry['page']['preprocess functions']. logging contents of $variables to a file show the contents changed, but contents appear unchanged on the site. flushed all cache on drupal, flushed all browser caches and still the same result. /** * Implementation of hook_preprocess_page(). */ function grinchlist_preprocess_page(&$variables) { if (grinchlist_usercheck($variables['user']['uid'])) { $variables['scripts'] = preg_replace('/<script[^>]*christmas_snow.*<\/script>/','',$variables['scripts']); } file_put_contents('/tmp/vars.txt',print_r($variables,true)); } the /tmp/vars.txt shows the variables properly, but the browser still show the script being loaded. this may be a silly example, but i've had this issue with the hook_preprocess_page in other instances and it would really help out to understand what is going on here... thanks.

    Hi all, I'm a beginner in WSS 3.0 and I'm having some problems with the navigation setup. I can't find any documentation that clearly recommends best practices in this area. I'm trying to create an intranet, custom look and feel, that should have a structure similar to: Company - News - News type 1 - News type 2 - Organogram - ... Employees - Employees 1 - Employees 2 - Employees 2_1 - ... How to properly set this up? Company, News, are sites/subsites? And News type 1 and 2 are pages within a site? I created as described above and in the master page of the main site I added some scripts that will be used by web parts, like jquery. The subsites will have their own master page and will not recognize the scripts, I need to add them there which is annoying. Any recommendations? Or some resource that provides best practices setting up these structures? Thx in advance

    Can app scripts access the current selection in a gmail message? I frequently compose messages that include engineering calculations and make use of the Google Calc feature do the calculation or convert to the desired units, e.g. 4000 Btu/hr * 8 hrs in kWh It would be really convenient to be able to select the above, hit a mapped key (e.g. Ctrl-K) and have the inserted after the expression 4000 Btu/hr * 8 hrs in kWh = 0.9378 kWh instead of having to paste the expression into a search box and then copy and paste the answer. I could certainly write a solution using a keymapper and a small python script to grab the current selection, send it to the gcalc api, etc ..., but my real motivation is to get familiar with Apps Scripts's capabilities and limitations. I suppose the uber-question here is "what kinds of user actions and state information can App Script access in Gmail messages (and/or Google docs) that are being edited?"

    I have a set of (X)HTML files that I need to open with window.open() from an application homepage. I am able to open these files and read the data within them. function openFiles() { var files = document.querySelectorAll('td a'); //The list of files to scan is stored as links in an HTML table for(var i = 0; i<files.length; i++){ //Open each file in a browser window win = window.open(files[i].href); //Can I prevent the JavaScript in these files from executing? } } But the problem is that the scripts within the HTML files also get executed when opened like this. This is rather time-consuming and unnecessary; also, the scripts within those files may have side-effects. Is there a way to prevent JavaScript from executing on load?
