  Hello guys, I am setting up subversion using this link http://svn.spears.at/ It says that "As the Subversion book warns, make sure to create all repositories on your local disks [FiberChannel is treated as a local disk]. Failing to do so, may result in repository corruption. " This us a big problem for me. Isnt there a way I can set subversion on shared drives. Is there a work around because availability is a major concern with local drives.

  I've already compiled and installed subversion, now trying to add users to it. And I find two articles on this, but they seem to be going in entire different direction. The 1st is here, which looks very simple, and seems it's not necessary to create a user account(useradd ...) the 2nd is here, which is a lot more complicated, and seems I need to create a user account for each svn user. Which one should I follow?

  Our SVN server hd was full. Deleted a load of unwanted data on there, and all appeared to be well. However, new check-ins are now failing. Can't move '/repos/db/txn-protorevs/1000-vr.rev' to '/repos/db/revs/1/1001': Permission denied 1000-vr.rev does not exist. There are two other files in there: 9-9.rev and 9-9.rev-lock Edit: I have checked file permissions just in case, and all is as it should be.

  Hi guys I am running subversion 1.4 on Centos 5.2 and my clients are using tortoise to do their check out, commit etc. I think I have permissions problems but I have configured the folder to accessible to everyone with 777 attribute but I seem not to be getting anywhere. Its generating this error on tortoise "svn: Can't open file 'PATH/TO/MY/FILES/entries': Permission denied". Some guy was suggesting some indexing software installed on the client machine like google desktop, any suggestions?

  Right now I am using an absolute path to connect i.e. server/var/svnroot/repositoryname I would like to be able to do /server/repoistoryname Is there a way to set this up? I would like to avoid symmlinks since that adds overhead. I would rather just have SVN automatically goto the folder similar to how the DocumentRoot works with Apache.

  HI, I am on Mac OS X 10.6.3 with Xcode 3.2.2 (iPhone SDK) and whenever I try to commit an entire project (this project has not been committed yet and there is nothing in the root svn directory) it gives me the error: Error: 155007 (Path is not a working copy directory) Description: 'PATH TO PROJECT (for privacy)' is not a working copy if it helps the SVN hosting is being provided by Codehesion (NOT an advertisement in any way :P) Thanks in advance!

I have my EDITOR variable configured to MacVim My .profile includes: export EDITOR=/Applications/MacVim/mvim When I checkin with the -m option (svn ci somefile), MacVim gets launched but then Subversion immediately displays: Log message unchanged or not specified (a)bort, (c)ontinue, (e)dit: It displays this before I get a chance to save my log message in MacVim. Is there a way to get SVN to use MacVim as the log message editor?

  I am using FogBugz free hosting to manage my project bugs, I also have several customers I create custom software for, been using FogBugz to keep everything organized. Question I have is, there are times where they send me an email with a bug, so I report it in my system and they create it as well, instead of having 2 cases of same bug, would like to merge or link them together, rather not just delete the duplicate.   I've searched around with this and haven't found any clear answers. I'm using Eclipse PDT. It seems that if I create a PHP Project, tags work (@todo, etc). However, if I create a project from SVN (still PHP based), tags don't work at all. With pysvn there is callback_get_login parameter but in case credentials are wrong, callback is prompted over and over without any way to cancel this and return failure information.   When I update my local working copy of an SVN repository in Eclipse using the Subversive plugin it isnt bringing any new files which have been added to the SVN repository. It thinks that the local working copy is up to date and if I ask Eclipse to update it it just says no further changes. Anyone got any ideas why this is happening?
