• php upload image with ftp problem

  Hi, I am using the code below to upload an image through ftp $sFile=$ftp_dir."/".$image_name; $image=$database_row["image"];//image is store in database $fh = tmpfile(); $fwrite($fh, $image); $uploadFile = ftp_fput($conn_id, $sFile, $fh, FTP_ASCII); fclose($fh); The ftp is creating the file and has a size BUT the file i get is not an image.When try to open on image viewer i get error. Before switch to ftp i had this code $image=$database_row["image"];//image is store in database $file = fopen( "images/".$image_name, "w" ); fwrite( $file, $image); fclose( $file ); and was working fine, but now i have to use ftp. What am i missing.

• SSAS 2008/Excel 2007 - Can't see cube

  I have created a cube in SSAS 2008. In BIDS and SSMS I can see it fine. However, I cannot connect through Excel. I have tried both Excel 2003 and Excel 2007. I must support both and neither work. I can see the database but the cubes do not show up. I created a dummy cube in the project using the wizard and deployed that to the same database. In Excel 2003, I can see and connect to the dummy cube. Excel 2007 can't even find the server/instance after adding this cube. I have used another computer and received the same results with Excel 2003. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for any help you can give me. -Brian

  Hello All... I have Postcode in my large database, which contains values like SL5 9JH, LU1 3TQ etc. Now when I am pasting above postcode to maps.google.com it's pointing to a perfect location.. My requirement is like I want to pass post codes to maps.google.com and it should return a related latitude and longitude of that pointed location, that I want to store in my database. So, most probably there should be some javascript for that... If anybody have another idea regarding that please provide it.. Thanks in advance...

• Stop propagating deletes

  Is it just me or is anyone else finding EF very difficult to use in a real app :( I'm using it as the data layer and have created custom business objects. I'm having difficulty converting the business objects back to EF objects and updating/adding/deleting from the database. Does anyone know a good, simple example of doing this? Actually the current problem that's driving me nuts is when I delete something EF tries to delete other related stuff as well. For example, if I delete an invoice it will also delete the associated customer! Seems odd. I can't figure out how to stop it doing this. // tried: invoiceEfData.CustomerReference = null; // also tried invoiceEfData.Customer = null; context.DeleteObject(invoiceEfData); context.SaveChanges(); // at this point I get a database error due to it attempting to delete the customer

• Repair bad character due to encoding problem

  Hi all, Recently we had an encoding problem in our system : If we had the string "æ" in our db ,it became "æ" on our web pages. Now this problem is solved, but the problem is that now we have a lot of "æ" in our database : users didn't see and validate pre-filled form with these characters. I found that If you read in utf 8 C3A6 you'll get "æ", if you read it in ascii you'll get "æ". It's strange because if I execute "select convert(varbinary(40),N'æ'),convert(varbinary(40),'æ')" I don't have the same result... Do you have any idea on how I can fix my database (ie change all "æ" to "æ") ? thx

  Hi there, I have a Java Web application using GlassFish 3, JSF2.0 (facelets) and JPA (EclipseLink) on MySQL (URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/administer). The problem I'm facing is that if I'm saving entities to the database with the update() method, String data loses integrity; '?' is shown instead of some characters. The server, pages and database is/are configured to use UTF-8. After I post form data, the next page shows the data correctly. Furthermore it "seems" in debug that the String property of the current entity stores the correct value too. Dunno if NetBeans debug can be trusted; might be that it decodes correctly, however it's incorrect. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance! Daniel

  I'm currently working on a website in PHP, and I'm wondering what the best practices/methods are to reduce the time requests take. I've build the site in a modular way, so a page would consist of a number of modules, and each of these would need to request information. For example, I have a cart module, that (if a cart is set) will fetch the cart with the id (stored in a session variable) from the database and return its contents. I have another module that lists categories and this needs to fetch the categories from the database. My system is built with models, and each model might also make a request, for example a category model will make a request to get products in that category.

I want to store the basic and detailed information about registered users in a specially created database table (not in aspnet_users table). I want to validate email first and then prevent next registration step for the user whose email address already exists in the database. At the last registration step I want to present summary form. All previous input and select fields should be duplicated in this form with "disabled" attribute. Please tell me how to adjust CreateUserWizard ASP.NET Control and web.config file to these needs?

• Mark row as deleted in dataTable on UserDeletingRow

  I have a datatable bound to a winforms dataGridView via a BindingSourceControl. I want to be able handle the UserDeletingRow event from the dataGridView and mark the row in my dataTable as deleted. I need to then be able to retrieve the rows marked as deleted from the datatable so that I can delete them from my database when a Save button is clicked. Please not I dont want to delete from the database on each firing of UserDeletingRow, only mark that row as deleted in my dataset. Can anyone point out how to do this?

(+ one database per client) one instance for all clients (+ one database for all clients) Former one is simple, but... "inefficient". How about the latter? (best practises, design patterns) How to separate client data? For example: worker "A" of client "1" has two documents, worker "B" of client "2" has three documents. How to build model associations to protect other users (and clients) data? I think joining every query with Client model is not a good solution.

  Hi, I am trying to get my head round some basic erlang functionality and I could do with some comments on the following. I have the following erlang code that takes a list of tuples and returns a list minus an element if a key is found: delete(Key, Database) -> remove(Database, Key, []). remove([], Key, Acc) -> Acc; remove([H|T], Key, Acc) -> if element(1, H) /= Key -> [H| remove(T, Key, Acc)]; true -> remove(T, Key, Acc) end. Is this a good way of doing this? The if statement seems incorrect. Also is my use of the accumulator Acc making this tail recursive? Cheers Paul

If "ApplyPropertyChanges()" is removed, it adds a User. What orders should these methods be called? I don't need to do them separately right? Thanks.

  Our database is filled with articles retrieved from RSS feeds. I was unsure of what data I would be getting, and how much filtering was already setup (WP-O-Matic Wordpress plugin using the SimplePie library). This plugin does some basic encoding before insertion using Wordpress's built in post insert function which also does some filtering. I've figured out most of the filters before insertion, but now I have whacko data that I need to remove. This is an example of whacko data that I have data in one field which the content I want in the front, but this part removed which is at the end: <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img> <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img> &lt;img src=&quot;http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:D7DqB2pKExk&quot; Notice how some of the images are escape and some aren't. I believe this has to do with the last part being cut off so as to be unrecognizable as an html tag, which then caused it to be html endcoded. Another field has only this which is now filtered before insertion, but I have to get rid of the others: &lt;img src=&quot;http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2183/2289902369_1d95bcdb85.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;post_img&quot; width=&quot;80&quot; (all examples are on one line, but broken up for readability) Question: What is the best way to work with the above escaped html (or portion of an html tag)? I can do it in Perl, PHP, SQL, Ruby, and even Python. I believe Perl to be the best at text parsing, so that's why I used the Perl tag. And PHP times out on large database operations, so that's pretty much out unless I wanted to do batch processing and what not. PS One of the nice things about using Wordpress's insert post function, is that if you use php's strip_tags function to strip out all html, insert post function will insert <p> at the paragraph points.   I am interested in applying dependency injection to my current project, which makes use of the MVC pattern. My controllers will call the models and therefore will need to inject the dependencies into the models. To do this, the controller must have the dependencies (such as a database object) in the first place. The controller doesn't need to make use of some of these dependencies (such as the database object), so I feel that it shouldn't be given this dependency. However, it has to have these dependencies if it is to inject them into the model objects. How can I avoid having dependencies injected into an object just so that it can pass them on? Doing so feels wrong and can result in many dependencies being injected into an object. Edit: I am using PHP.

• How can I allow users to switch data sources for an SSRS report?

  I have two SQL Server databases with identical schemas, but different data. I also have SSRS generating reports, in native mode, for one of the databases. All reports the same shared data source. I would like to allow users to get reports for the other database. I created a second shared data source for the second database. Modifying the reports to use this second data source results in reports as expected. Because the RDLs are the same, except for the data source, and because I don't want to maintain what are basically duplicate reports, I'm looking for a way to dynamically switch data sources, depending on user input. Is there an easy means of accomplishing this? An existing solution would be best. Barring that, can the RDL's data source be parametrized? Or, can the RDS's connection string be parametrized?

• TypeInitilazationException When Getting an NHibernate Session

  I’ve run into what appears to be an NHibernate config problem. Basically, I ran up a simple proof of concept persistence integration test using NUnit, the test simply querys an Oracle database and successfully returns the last record received by the underlying table. However, when the assemblies are taken out of the NUnit test environment and deployed as they would be for an actual application build, my call for an NHibernate session results in a ‘TypeInitializationException’ whilst executing the code line: sessionFactory = New Configuration().Configure().BuildSessionFactory() The application is a vb.net console app running against an Oracle 9.2 database, using a ‘coding framework’ published on the web by Bill McCafferty entitled 'NHibernate Best Practices with ASP.NET' (pre S#harp Architecture).   I am creating solution and inside I have three projects: A WCF Service Library Project A DataAccess Project (Class Library) A Web site for hosting WCF service The implementation of the service is on the project # 1, but in order to access the DataBase I use a second project that implements the data access using a class library project. That problem is in order to get data access I need to configure a connection string, but that connection string must be configurable in a production environment, I meant in production I am going to deploy the site, which is a very simple project that contains only a reference WCF Service Library Project then a guy from database department will configure the connection string. In development I have an app.config on the data access project but when I do the release that app.config is embedded on the dll. Any ideas how can we achieve our purpose

• Trac & Sqlite PK problem

  I create my trac enviromnets using a sqlite database, it works very well. Now i want to get some information directly from the database and i'm using C# to do it using System.Data.SQLite. The problem i have is an error in the designer cause the tables don't have primary keys. After get this error i went and noticed that all tables that have more than one primary key defined in the schema were not 'converted' to sqlite, that information is lost. I believe the problem is in sqlite_backend.py but python isn't my speciality and i'm in a hurry so if you can guide me to a quick fix. thank you.

• MySQL - How To Avoid Repair With Keycache?

  I have had some experience with optimizing the my.cnf file but my database has around 4 million records (MyISAM). I am trying to restore from a mysqldump but every time I do I eventually get the dreaded "Repair With Keycache", that may take days. Is there anyway to get past this and let it roll as "Repair By Sorting"? I have 2GB RAM, Dual Cores, lots of extra hard-drive space.   I have a asp FileUpload control in my aspx page. Now, I'm required to do the "check-extension" in the other way: at the moment the client click and choose FileUpload, an alert show "Extension of files are not allowed.". I need a way to make an alert show at the momment the FileUpload choosed in browser. Help!!!!
