  • How to set App as site.com/ in Kohana3

    Hi all! I've only just started using Kohana ( 3 hours ago), and so far it's blown my socks off (and I'm wearing slippers, so that's quite impressive). Right now, I have a controller 'Controller_FrontPage' with associated views and models and I'm trying to get it accesible from the root of my website (eg, http://www.mysite.com/). If I edit the default controller in the bootstrap from: Route::set('default', '(<controller>(/<action>(/<id>)))') ->defaults(array( 'controller' => 'welcome', 'action' => 'index', )); to 'controller' => '', I get an error, could not find controller_ (which makes sense), and if I change it to 'controller' => '/', I get an error, could not find controller_/ (which also makes sense). If I set 'controller' => 'FrontPage', everything works fine, but all my links (html::anchor(...)) point to http://www.mysite.com/FrontPage/*. Is there a way to have all the anchors point to http://www.mysite.com/*?

  • Struts2 Converting Enum Array fills array with single null value

    For a simple action class with these member variables: ... private TestConverterEnum test; private TestConverterEnum[] tests; private List<TestConverterEnum> tList; ... And a simple enum: public enum TestConverterEnum { A, B, C; } Using the default struts2 enum conversion, when I send the request like so: TestConterter.action?test=&tests=&tList=&b=asdf For test I get a null value, which is expected. For the Array and List, however, I get and Array (or list) with one null element. Is this what is expected? Is there a way to prevent this. We recently upgraded our struts2 version, and we had our own converters, which also don't work in this case, so I was hoping to use the default conversion method. We already have code that is validating these arrays for null and length, and I don't want to have to add another condition to these branches. Is there a way to prevent this bevavior?

  • Rails: How to produce 404 or redirect upon undesired url exploitation?

    I want to hide the urls for editing users and their profiles behind safer and meaningful urls. For instance, I want /user/13/edit to be /settings/account and /user/13/profile/edit to be /settings/profile. I managed to achieve that, but for that I had to load the user information from the current_user bit from the session. Like so: # users_controller def edit @user = current_user end # profiles_controller def edit @user = current_user @profile = @user.profile end But now, since I can't compare @user.id from the params with the current_user in the session, how can I stop the old urls (/user/13/edit and /user/13/profile/edit) from being exploitable? They always load the forms for the current user, so there's no harm done, but I'd be more comfortable if they just produced a 404 error or something. Thanks in advance.

  • WCF service reference namespace differs from original

    I'm having a problem regarding namespaces used by my service references. I have a number of WCF services, say with the namespace MyCompany.Services.MyProduct (the actual namespaces are longer). As part of the product, I'm also providing a sample C# .NET website. This web application uses the namespace MyCompany.MyProduct. During initial development, the service was added as a project reference to the website and uses directly. I used a factory pattern that returns an object instance that implements MyCompany.Services.MyProduct.IMyService. So far, so good. Now I want to change this to use an actual service reference. After adding the reference and typing MyCompany.Services.MyProduct in the namespace textbox, it generates classes in the namespace MyCompany.MyProduct.MyCompany.Services.MyProduct. BAD! I don't want to have to change using directives in several places just because I'm using a proxy class. So I tried prepending the namespace with global::, but that is not accepted. Note that I hadn't even deleted the original assembly references yet, and "reuse types" is enabled, but no reusing was done, apparently. However, I don't want to keep the assembly references around in my sample website for it to work anyway. The only solution I've come up with so far is setting the default namespace for my web application to MyCompany (because it cannot be empty), and adding the service reference as Services.MyProduct. Suppose that a customer wants to use my sample website as a starting point, and they change the default namespace to OtherCompany.Whatever, this will obviously break my workaround. Is there a good solution to this problem? To summarize: I want to generate a service reference proxy in the original namespace, without referencing the assembly. Note: I have seen this question, but there was no solution provided that is acceptable for my use case. I learned my basics of PHP, years ago, from www.w3schools.com and Javascript from another similar site (since taken down) that had a series of tutorials that took you from nothing to something. Is there a similar site for Java? Is there a recommended IDE (Eclipse?) and site to learn?

  • Character Set Issues when Upgrading from Symfony 2.0.* to Symfony 2.1.*?

    I have recently upgraded my staging test site to the latest version of Symfony and updated all the vendors using composer as instructed in the upgrade document that comes with the download. Everything has all updated fine, but I have noticed now that some bits of HTML are not displaying in the Twig templates. I did a comparison with the current live site and it appears to be a character set issue. As an example I had a drop down list that had the following value in: Kitchen Ducting > Ducting Kits > Ducting Kit 4” / 100mm In the updated site the drop-down list item just appeared blank. When I used Twig's raw function it then displayed the item again, but with the dreaded question mark in a black diamond. Kitchen Ducting > Ducting Kits > Ducting Kit 4? / 100mm Things that you should know that may help: The staging test site and live site are both on the same server. In my httpd.conf file I have 'AddDefaultCharset utf-8'. In my php.ini file I have 'default_charset = "utf-8"'. The HTML file served has the Content-Type meta tag 'content="text/html; charset=utf-8"' My database is InnoDB and uses 'utf8' as the default character set and 'utf8_general_ci' as default collation. All tables in the database also use the defaults. I looked into BOM with UTF8, but could not work out if that was a problem or not?

  • SQL Server getdate() to a string like "2009-12-20"

    In Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and .NET 2.0, I want to convert the current date to a string of this format: "YYYY-MM-DD". For example, December 12th 2009 would become "2009-12-20". How do I do this in SQL. The context of this SQL statement in the table definiton. In other words, this is the default value. So when a new record is created the default value of the current date is stored as a string in the above format. I'm trying: SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 102) AS [YYYY.MM.DD] But SQL server keeps converting that to: ('SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 102) AS [YYYY.MM.DD]') so the result is just: 'SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 102) AS [YYYY.MM.DD]' Here's a screen shot of what the Visual Studio server explorer, table, table definition, properties shows: These wrapper bits are being adding automatically and converting it all to literal string: (N' ') Here's the reason I'm trying to use something other than the basic DATETIME I was using previously: This is the error I get when hooking everything to an ASP.NET GridView and try to do an update via the grid view: Server Error in '/' Application.   • IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) fails due to IE settings

    We have a .Net application that is used for editing/rendering customized HTML documents. It is hosted in IE using the AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser controls. We proceed with navigating to "about:blank" page initially then we change the Document by writing our custom values into it. The problem we are facing is the call to IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) is failing if we don't enable the IE Security Settings in the Internet Security zone (Scripting-Allow Programmatic Access to Clipboard ). In order to bypass the security setting ,I tried to point to a local html file initially while navigating. But this fails as soon as I modify the Document. I want to use the IHTMLTxtRange.execCommand("Copy",false,null) command so that I can customize our Copy/Paste operations. Is there any other way I can do this. Please share your ideas inorder to overcome this situation. Thanks. Sriram

    I have a class with an object as a member which doesn't have a default constructor. I'd like to initialize this member in the constructor, but it seems that in C++ I can't do that. Is there any way to do it the way I wanted to do it, or is it too "Java-oriented" and not feasible in C++? I worked around the problem by defining my constructor like this: template<class T> udp_sock<T>::udp_sock(std::string host = "localhost", unsigned short port = 50000) : _sock(_io_service) { udp::resolver res(_io_service); udp::resolver::query query(udp::v4(), host, "spec"); udp::endpoint ep = *res.resolve(query); ep.port(port); _sock.bind(ep); } So my question is more out of curiosity and to better understand OOP in C++

    I have two models -- User and Entry -- that are related through a has_many relationship (a User has many Entries). I'm using RESTful routing, and have the following in my routes.rb file: map.resource :user, :controller => "users" do |user| user.resources :entries end This seems to work, but in my partial _form file, when I do this: form_for [@current_user, @entry] do |f| # Form stuff end It generates a URL like this: /user/entries.%23%3Cuser:0xb6a6aea8%3E instead of /user/entries Am I missing something? I should note that the correct classes are applied to the form when doing creation vs. editing, so it does seem to be correctly interpreting what I'm trying to do -- it's just that I can't submit the form to an invalid url.

    I have a DataGridView in a VB.NET app that I have limited to cell selection only. The control has two columns, the first is not editable, the second is editable. I have a ContextMenuStrip that provides some additional functionality and I am able to make it appear when an editable cell receives a right click and is not in edit mode. Based on an example in a Microsoft forum, I am able to now show the context menu when an editable cell receives a right click while also in edit mode. That code is as follows: Private Sub DataGridView1_EditingControlShowing(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewEditingControlShowingEventArgs) Handles DataGridView1.EditingControlShowing If TypeOf e.Control Is TextBox Then With DirectCast(e.Control, TextBox) .ContextMenuStrip = ContextMenuStrip1 End With End If End Sub This, however, completely overwrites the system context menu of the editing control. How can I merge my Context Menu Strip (ContextMenuStrip1) with the system context menu? For further information, I am using VS2008, but targeting the .NET 2.0 platform.

  • Why Is my UISlider Thumb Image Being Shown Multiple Times and Not Disappearing As They Should?

    This slider is possessed: When I move the slider thumb left or right, it leaves the original image there (creating an extra image). This doesn't happen every time and the only consistency i've noticed is that it's inconsistent. When the table is in "Editing mode" it is more likely to create a duplicate thumb image, but it also does so in regular mode.
