  I have an array, i don't know the length but i do know it will be =48bytes. The first 48bytes are the header and i need to split the header into two. Whats the easiest way? I am hoping something as simple as header.split(32); would work ([0] is 32 bytes [1] being 16 assuming header is an array of 48bytes) using .NET

• HMVC or PAC - how to handle shared abstractions/models?

  In HMVC/PAC, what's the recommended way to code if two or more triads/agents share a common model/abstraction? Do you instantiate a new instance of that model wherever needed, and propogate a change in one to all the other instances via the controllers? Or do instantiate one model at some common upper level, and inject that instance wherever needed? (Or neither if I'm missing something fundamental about these patterns?)

  I have IFrame load one of the menu item click in that page left side I have tree structure and top of the page menu Items.Center of the page loading with IFrame.Whenever session going to expire I am giving alert(session will expire soon). But this alert is coming for Iframe window (after some seconds complete) as well as parent page.That means two alerts are coming whenever session going to expire .That alert should come on parent page not in Iframe page.How to avoid this?

I have two questions: Should I give a maximum value for the text field? Is this necessary? Is it useful? Since the contents of this field will be displayed on a website in HTML, do I need to include paragraph tags for paragraph formatting when I enter records into mysql?

  I'm aware of SOUNDEX and (double) Metaphone, but these don't let me test for the similarity of words as a whole - for example "Hi" sounds very similar to "Bye", but both of these methods will mark them as completely different. Are there any libraries in Ruby, or any methods you know of, that are capable of determining the similarity between two words? (Either a boolean is/isn't similar, or numerical 40% similar) edit: Extra bonus points if there is an easy method to 'drop in' a different dialect or language!

I need an appender that will roll log files based on filesize, but also append the current date to it. I've been thinking about creating my own appender, but if there is already one that has been created, why not save the time and use that one?

I want to query the sum duration of the intersection of all rows with two start and stop date-times. How can you do this in MySQL? Or do you have to select the rows that intersect the query start and stop times, then calculate the actual overlap of each row and sum it client-side?

  These two querys gives me the exact same result: select * from topics where name='Harligt'; select * from topics where name='Härligt'; How is this possible? Seems like mysql translates åäö to aao when it searches. Is there some way to turn this off? I use utf-8 encoding everywhere as far as i know. The same problem occurs both from terminal and from php.

  In my view, if I have a situation where I need to use a dynamic method (such as Domain.findByName("name")) in multiple places, would it be better to define a variable with and refer to that, rather than have the dynamic method in multiple places? • Question about ITextUndoHistory returned from TryGetHistory

  Everytime the IWpfTextView's TextBuffer changes I am trying to get the history's redostack and undostack and simply checking the count. When doing this I am encountering a "Method not supported exception" when trying to access the two stacks. Am I retrieving the history incorrectly or does VS not want me seeing/editing the contents of the stacks? I can post the code if necessary... Thanks, Nick

  In C there is a do while loop and pascal's (almost) equivalent is the repeat until loop, but there is a small difference between the two, while both structures will iterate at least once and check whether they need to do the loop again only in the end, in pascal you write the condition that need to met to terminate the loop (REPEAT UNTIL something) in C you write the condition that need to be met to continue the loop (DO WHILE something). Is there a reason why there is this difference or is it just an arbitrary decision?

  I have two applications, one updates a single table which has constant number of rows (128 rows) using SqlDataAdapter.Update method , and another application that select from this table periodically using SqlDataReader. sometimes the DataReader returns only 127 rows not 128, and the update application does not remove or even insert any new rows, it just update.
