• Can I use Data URLs in Android 2.1's Webkit-based browser?

  Hi all, I am writing a tutorial about the HTML5 Canvas for mobile and did some basic tests. While I can call the getDataURL() Method on an iPhone's HTML5 Canvas Element, it does not seem to return the data URL on Android 2.1 (Google Nexus One) and it's webkit-based default browser. Here is the sample: var dataURL = canvas.toDataURL(); var img = document.createElement('img'); img.setAttribute('src', dataURL); document.getElementById('box').appendChild(img); This will work on iPhone, it will add a new image element with the same content as the canvas. It does nothing or fails on Android 2.1. Has anyone ever gotten this to work? I am also wondering if anyone could help me with understanding the WebKit Build numbers and what it means with regards to what features I can expect. For the iphone, I see a build number of 528.18, on Android 2.1's Browser I see (from the user agent strign) a WebKit build 530.17. So it looks Android 2.1's webkit browser is more up to date, still some features work on iPhone's webkit but not on Android. Does this comparison just make no sense? Thanx all!

  Hello, I am having trouble with the first question in the Programming Challenges book by Skiena and Revilla. I keep getting a "Wrong Answer" error message, and I don't know why. I've ran my code against the sample input, and I keep getting the right answer. • Google Reader API with Objective-C - Problem getting token

  I am able to successfully get the SID (SessionID) for my Google Reader account. In order to obtain the feed and do other operations inside Google Reader, you have to obtain an authorization token. I'm having trouble doing this.   Hi, I am not quiet sure how jquery works. I want to know few things about the GET and POST in terms of jQuery. I am using a button to call the example_ajax_request to process the request and get the results. (either GET or POST) while send and getting the data in PHP webapps? The code that I use first works fine even though I do not use any POST or GET methods. Any inputs? Thanks.

• Bluetooth connection. Problem with sony ericsson.

• JSON.Net and Linq

  I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to linq and I'm working on a site that parses a json feed using json.net. The problem that I'm having is that I need to be able to pull multiple fields from the json feed and use them for a foreach block. The documentation for json.net only shows how to pull just one field. I've done a few variations after checking out the linq documentation, but I've not found anything that works best. • jQuery ajax call doesn't seem to do anything at all

  I am having a problem with making an ajax call in jQuery. Having done this a million times, I know I am missing something really silly here. However, I never get an alert back that says success or an alert that says failure. I did go into my CS code and put a breakpoint on the GetEmployee method. The breakpoint did hit, so I know jQuery is successfully calling the method. I stepped through the method and it executed just fine with no errors. I can only assume the error is happening when the jQuery ajax call is returning from the call. Also, I looked in my event logs just to make sure there wasn't an ASPX error occurring. There is no error in the logs. I also looked at the console. There are no script errors. Anyone have any ideas what I am missing here? `

  I'm not quite grokking a couple of things in OOP and I'm going to use a fictional understanding of SO to see if I can get help understand. So, on this page we have a question. You can comment on the question. There are also answers. You can comment on the answers. Question - comment - comment - comment Answer -comment Answer -comment -comment -comment Answer -comment -comment So, I'm imagining a very high level understanding of this type of system (in PHP, not .Net as I am not yet familiar with .Net) would be like: $question = new Question; $question->load($this_question_id); // from the URL probably echo $question->getTitle(); To load the answers, I imagine it's something like this ("A"): $answers = new Answers; $answers->loadFromQuestion($question->getID()); // or $answers->loadFromQuestion($this_question_id); while($answer = $answers->getAnswer()) { echo $answer->showFormatted(); } Or, would you do ("B"): $answers->setQuestion($question); // inject the whole obj, so we have access to all the data and public methods in $question $answers->loadFromQuestion(); // the ID would be found via $this->question->getID() instead of from the argument passed in while($answer = $answers->getAnswer()) { echo $answer->showFormatted(); } I guess my problem is, I don't know when or if I should be passing in an entire object, and when I should just be passing in a value. Passing in the entire object gives me a lot of flexibility, but it's more memory and subject to change, I'd guess (like a property or method rename). If "A" style is better, why not just use a function? OOP seems pointless here. Thanks, Hans

• FlashBuilder 4 and Zend Framework error

  I am trying to use adobe flash builder 4 with a php service. I had it set up an older macbook running leopard, but just tried to set it up on my new laptop running snow leopard. I did all the same steps.. set the Flex Server to be PHP, set the web root and url. Then I go to Data-Connect To PHP and point it to a php file I have in my web root. It says it needs to install Zend, and claims it does so successfully, but then when I try to continue, I get an error. I don't understand.. this same setup works on my older laptop. • Hyperlink regex including http(s):// not working in C#

  I think this is sufficiently different from similar questions to warrant a new one. I have the following regex to match the beginning hyperlink tags in HTML, including the http(s):// part in order to avoid mailto: links <a[^>]*?href=[""'](?<href>\\b(https?)://[^\[\]""]+?)[""'][^>]*?> When I run this through Nregex (with escaping removed) it matches correctly for the following test cases: <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk"> <a href="http://bbc.co.uk"> <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk"> <a href="mailto:[email protected]"> However when I run this in my C# code it fails. • Unable to create website error (NEW)

  I copied my ClickOnce deployment to my C:/Inetpub/ folder on my webserver and I deleted my Virtual directory. I deleted the WpfApplication1 folder beneath wwwroot in Win Explorer. Then I turned on Web Sharing for this folder. Then I viewed my IIS Manager and this new Share name appeared under wwwroot. So now under Inetpub folder on my web server I have the following directory path: C:\Inetpub\WpfApplication1\ with contents: Application Files publish.htm setup.exe WpfApplication1.application Next, I remapped both the publishing and installation URL's for the project to http://myserver/WpfApplication1/ And I clicked Publish Now.   The topic says it all. Using Compact Framework C# I'm tiling (order/sequence is important) some images that i download from an url, into a Panel(each image is a PictureBox). This can be a huge process, and may take some time. Therefor i only want the user to download the images and tile them once. So the next time the user uses the Tile Application, the Panel that was created the first time is already stored in a file and is loaded from that file. So what i want is a method to store a Panel as a file. Is this possible, or do you think i should do it another way? I've tried something like this: BinaryWriter panelStorage = new BinaryWriter(new FileStream("imagePanel.panel", FileMode.OpenOrCreate, FileAccess.Write, FileShare.None)); Byte[] bImageObject = new Byte[20000]; bImageObject = (byte[])(object)this.imagePanel; panelStorage .Write(bMapObject); panelStorage .Close(); But the casting was not very legal :P "InvalidCastException" Can anyone help me with this problem?   I'm pulling some RSS feeds into a datastore in App Engine to serve up to an iPhone app. I use cron to schedule updating the RSS every x minutes. Each task only parses one RSS feed (which has 15-20 items). I frequently get warnings about high CPU usage in the App Engine dashboard, so I'm looking for ways to optimise my code. Currently, I use minidom (since it's already there on App Engine), but I suspect it's not very efficient! Are there are any libraries (that work on App Engine) that would be better, or would I be better parsing the RSS myself?

  Hi all, We are dealing with a problem when using NHibernate with Remoting in a machine with full trust enviroment (actually that's our dev machine). The problem happens when whe try to send as a parameter an object previously retrieved from the server, that contains a NHibernate Proxy in one of the properties (a lazy one). As we are in the dev machine, there's no restriction in the trust level of the web app (it's set to Full) and, as a plus, we've configured NHibernate's and Castle's assemblies to full trust in CAS (even thinking that it'd not be necessary as the remoting app in IIS has the full trust level). Instead, I want to create the grid dynamically.
