• Problem with AquaTerm on Snow Leopard

• Transactions in codeigniter with multiple tables.

  Hey SO, I'm new to transactions in general, but especially with CodeIgniter. I'm using InnoDB and everything, but my transactions aren't rolling back when I want them to. It should roll back at that final trans_rollback right before the commit. My models are all on the "dog" database, so I think that the transaction would carry into the models' functions. Maybe you just can't use models like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

• SQL 2008 R2 login/network issue

  I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 new clean install , not a VM, that I have added to a Windows Server 2003 based domain using my account which has domain admin rights. The domain functional level is 2003. I performed a clean install of SQL Server 2008 R2 using my account which has domain admin rights. The installation completed without any errors. I logged into SSMS locally and attempted to add another domain account by clicking Search, Advanced and finding the user in the domain. When I return to the "Dialog - New" window and click OK I receive the following error: Create failed for Login 'Domain\User'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo) An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo) Windows NT user or group 'Domain\User' not found. Check the name again. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 15401) I have verified that the firewall is off, tried adding a different domain user, tried using SA to add a user, installed the hotfix for KB 976494 and verified that the Local Security Policy for Domain Member: Digitally encrypt or sign secure channel Domain Member: Digitally encrypt secure channel Domain Member: Digitally sign secure channel are disabled none of which have made a difference. I can RDP to a Server 2003 server running SQL 2008 and add the same domain user without issue. Also if I try to connect with SSMS to the sql server from another system on the domain using my account I get the following error: Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18452) and on the database server I see the following in the security event log: An account failed to log on. Subject: Security ID: NULL SID Account Name: - Account Domain: - Logon ID: 0x0 Logon Type: 3 Account For Which Logon Failed: Security ID: NULL SID Account Name: myUserName Account Domain: MYDOMAIN Failure Information: Failure Reason: An Error occured during Logon. Status: 0xc000018d Sub Status: 0x0 Process Information: Caller Process ID: 0x0 Caller Process Name: - Network Information: Workstation Name: MYWKS Source Network Address: - Source Port: - Detailed Authentication Information: Logon Process: NtLmSsp Authentication Package: NTLM Transited Services: - Package Name (NTLM only): - Key Length: 0 I am sure that the "NULL SID" has some significant meaning but have no idea at this point what the issue could be.

• Handling Errors from HttpWebRequest.GetResponse

  Hey experts - I'm having a ridiculous time trying to get an SMS API working (ZeepMobile, if you're interested) with .NET... I've been around .NET for a few years, but with all this social networking and API stuff, I need to get into the HttpWebRequest a bit. I'm new at it, but not completely new; I was able to hook up my site to Twitter without too much fuss (ie, I was able to modify someone's code to work for me). Anyways, the way their API works is to send an SMS message, you send them a POST and they respond back to you. I can send it just fine, but every time I do, rather than echo back something helpful to figure out what the error is, I get the Yellow Error Page Of Death (YEPOD) saying something to the effect of "The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request." This occurs on my line: '...creation of httpwebrequest here...' Dim myWebResponse As WebResponse myWebResponse = request.GetResponse() '<--- error line Is there any way to simply receive the error from the server rather than have the webserver throw an exception and give me the YEPOD? • Form submit to target iframe only works once

  I'm having a really irritating problem doing something that I'm sure I've done before. The setup is this: There's a form which is submitted via a "click" handler on a button, though the submit is ultimately a simple call to the form's native submit() function. The form's target is an iframe, which is initially filled with an empty page (that is, its source object is an URL for an empty page). That is, the "target" attribute of the form is the same identifier (and yes, it's a valid identifier) as the "name" and "id" attributes of the iframe (and yes, it's unique) Now the goal of this setup is as follows: the form contains file upload fields. Should something be wrong with one of the files uploaded, the server will report back an error. If the error response (that is, the html page with a new copy of the form, along with appropriate error messages) were to be allowed to reload the original window, then the file input fields would be cleared. That's not good. Thus the form submits to the iframe, so that the response from the server can be a small page that knows it's in that hidden iframe, and knows to move the error messages up to the form. One more thing: the form itself is also in an iframe, as part of a popup modal dialog (like a jQuery UI dialog, only slightly different; same idea though). The setup works fine - on the first submit. In other words, if I supply nice happy files to upload, the server ships back the successful response, and the dialog is closed correctly. If I send a bogus file, the server responds with an error page that correctly copies its stuff up to the form page. On the second submit, however (like, if I fix the bogus file input field), the browser insists on sending the server response to a new browser tab. As far as I can tell, the form's "target" remains correct, the iframe "name" and "id" attributes aren't changed, and I even make sure to update the hidden iframe "window.name" and "window.id" values. None of that is helping; I always get a new browser tab. I'm trying to set up a slightly simpler test case to see if I can rule out some of my framework code (the stuff that does the submit), though via a few console.log() calls I think that stuff is OK; it's certainly OK on all the other dialogs etc. in the site. When/if I create a simpler version I'll post it. In the meantime, if any of you insanely smart people recognize this situation and know of a trick to make it work, I'd be really thankful. I see the same behavior in both Firefox (3.6) and Chrome, so it's got to be my problem and not a browser quirk (well, at least that's what I think to be true).

So I don't understand the error message. • Firebug not breaking on errors

  Hi. I reinstalled Firefox today, because... whatever. I reinstalled firebug, therefully, and now when I try to use it, it's all different. I believe it is the same version I had before. In fact, I even went digging through my trash and replaced the new firebug with the one I removed with the old Firefox. They ended up being the same version (1.5.3). My issue is, when I have an error in my script somewhere, it used to be that if on the script pane of firebug, the script would break on the error, and the script page would go to the offending line, highlighted, and all was right with the world. Now, it logs the error in the console, and that's it. I've spent the better part of the last hour trying to convince myself this isn't worth an ulcer; I am losing the battle, though. I've searched Google, put ads on Craigslist, even thought about becoming a cop. There were some examples on the Firebug dox, but none of them helped. A bunch of old references to a mysterious (break on all errors) option; an option which I think I might have set by accident--there is a little red circle-slash on my pause button (that's what she said), but there the script continues, all on its own. There was a guide somewhere on the firebug pages that spoke of setting the breakpoint next to the error in the console. I, however, don't have this option for some reason. The line of code is there in the console, but no breakpoint button next to it. This, however, would not be ideal even if it worked. I liked it when I could have the script page open, and if there were errors it would jump to that line. I could try to fix it, and re-load the page. If that line was fixed, GREAT, on to the next error on the page -- which would be highlighted and ready. I would like to offer a solicitation of help. Help.

  My application works just fine until, in some unidentified conditions, it begins throwing this errors: When these errors start appearing, they appear in all over the application, no matter the code is built using ObjectDataSource or SqlDataSource. • Failing to install activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter gem

  I am trying to follow the basic "Create a blog in 20 minutes" Rails screencast but have hit a stumbling block already. When I try to rake db:migrate I get errors about the gem activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter not being installed. When I try to install it, I am told it doesn't exist. If I try to simply gem install mysql I get all sorts of madness appearing. I am running this on Mac OS X 10.6.2 and my installation was all done through gem. My basic setup works (Hello world!). • Bluetooth connect to a RS232 adapter in android

  Hello All, I am trying to use the Bluetooth Chat sample API app that google provides to connect to a bluetooth RS232 adapter hooked up to another device. Here is the app for reference: http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/BluetoothChat/index.html And here is the spec sheet for the RS232 connector just for reference: http://serialio.com/download/Docs/BlueSnap-guide-4.77%5FCommands.pdf Well the problem is that when I go to connect to the device with: mmSocket.connect(); (BluetoothSocket::connect()) I always get an IOException error thrown by the connect method. When I do a toString on the exception I get "Service discovery failed". My question is mostly what are the cases that would cause an IOException to get thrown in the connect method? I know those are in the source somewhere but I don't know exactly how the java layer that you write apps in and the C/C++ layer that contains the actual stacks interface. I know that it uses the bluez bluetooth stack which is written in C/C++ but not sure how that ties into the java layer which is what I would think is throwing the exception. Any help on pointing me to where I can try to dissect this issue would be incredible. Also just to note I am able to pair with the RS232 adapter just fine but I am never able to actually connect. • Using sem_t in a Qt Project

  Hi everyone, I'm working on a simulation in Qt (C++), and would like to make use of a Semaphore wrapper class I made for the sem_t type. Although I am including semaphore.h in my wrapper class, running qmake provides the following error: 'sem_t does not name a type' I believe this is a library/linking error, since I can compile the class without problems from the command line. I've read that you can specify external libraries to include during compilation. However, I'm a) not sure how to do this in the project file, and b) not sure which library to include in order to access semaphore.h. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   I have developed a Web Service using JAX-WS (v2.1.3 - Sun JDK 1.6.0_05) deployed on WebLogic 10.3 that works just fine when I use a Java client or SoapUI or other Web Services testing tools. • Why are there connections open to my databases?

  I have a program that stores user projects as databases. Naturally, the program should allow the user to create and delete the databases as they need to. When the program boots up, it looks for all the databases in a specific SQLServer instance that have the structure the program is expecting. These database are then loaded into a listbox so the user can pick one to open as a project to work on. When I try to delete a database from the program, I always get an SQL error saying that the database is currently open and the operation fails. I've determined that the code that checks for the databases to load is causing the problem. I'm not sure why though, because I'm quite sure that all the connections are being properly closed. Here are all the relevant functions. After calling BuildProjectList, running "DROP DATABASE database_name" from ExecuteSQL fails with the message: "Cannot drop database because it is currently in use".   I'm trying to use StructureMap with nServiceBus. The Project: Uses a GenericHost Endpoint to send command messages Configures nServiceBus using the StructMapBuilder. Uses a simple StructureMap registry config Uses a start up class TestServer supporting IWantToRunAtStartup The TestServer class has ctor dependency on a TestManager class The TestManager class has ctor dependency on IBus ObjectFactory.WhatDoIHave() shows StructureMap knows how to construct the classes. • Mac OS - Built SVN from source, now Apache2 not loading sites

  This relates to another question I asked earlier today. I built SVN 1.6.2 from source. In the process, it has completely screwed up my dev environment. After I built SVN, Apache wasn't loading. It was giving me this error: Syntax error on line 117 of /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Cannot load /usr/libexec /apache2/mod_dav_svn.so into server: dlopen(/usr/libexec/apache2/mod_dav_svn.so, 10): no suitable image found. Did find:\n\t/usr/libexec/apache2/mod_dav_svn.so: mach-o, but wrong architecture It appears that SVN over-wrote the old mod_dav_svn.so and I am not able to get it to build as FAT, and I can't recover whatever was originally there. I resolved this(temporarily?) by commenting out the line that was loading the mod_dav_svn.so and got Apache to start at this point. However, even though Apache is running I am now getting this error when trying to access my dev sites: Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /usr/share/tomcat6/webapps/ROOT/ I have Apache2 sitting in front of Tomcat6. I access my local dev site using the internal name "http://localthesite". I have had virtual directories set up that have worked until this SVN debacle. Tomcat is installed at /usr/local/apache-tomcat, and webapps is /usr/local/apache-tomcat/webapps. Our production servers deploy tomcat to /usr/share/tomcat6, so I have symlinks setup on my system to replicate this as well. These point back to the actual installation path. This has all been working fine as well. None of our configurations for Apache2, Tomcat, or .htaccess have changed. Over the weekend, I performed a "Repair Disk Permissions" on the system. This was before I discovered the mod_dav_svn.so problem. I have been reading up on this all morning and the most common answer is that there is an Options -Indexes set. We have this in a config file, but it was there before and when I removed it during testing, I still got the same errors from Apache. At this point, I'm assuming I either totally borked the native Apache2 installation on this Mac, or that there is a permissions error somewhere that I'm missing. The permissions error could be from the SVN installation, or from my repair process. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I'm totally blocked right now and have no idea where to check next.

  Problem: I call my javascript function, and sometimes I get the error 'myFunction is not defined'. But it is defined. For example. I've been getting this in situations that are harder to work around, where the calling function is located in another file that should be loaded after the called function. But this was the simplest case I could present, and appears to be the same problem. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, so I do suspect some kind of load-timing-related problem. But I have no idea what. @Hojou: That's part of the problem. The function in which I'm now getting this error is itself my addLoadEvent, which is basically a standard version of the common library function. @James: I understand that, and there is no syntax error in the function. When that is the case, the syntax error is reported as well. In this case, I am getting only the 'not defined' error. @David: The script in this case resides in an external file that is referenced using the normal <script src="file.js"></script> method in the page's head section. @Douglas: Interesting idea, but if this were the case, how could we ever call a user-defined function with confidence? In any event, I tried this and it didn't work. @sk: This technique has been tested across browsers and is basically copied from the prototype library.

  I have a multi-lingual page where I want to display form validation error in the user's language. So now I'm two steps away from ImageMagick, trying to get a newer libiconv on my machine. I downloaded the latest libiconv, compiled and built it.
