    Hello I am not a PHP programmer so I have no idea what the problem is here.   • AWStats is processing log files but does not display them

    I've setup AWStats on my VPS to get some more insight into the traffic coming to my site. As instructed I ran a manual build/update which ran fine: sudo -u www-data ./awstats.pl -config=xxxx.com Create/Update database for config "/etc/awstats/awstats.xxxx.com.conf" by AWStats version 6.9 (build 1.925) From data in log file "/usr/share/doc/awstats/examples/logresolvemerge.pl /var/www/xxxx.com/logs/*-access.log |"... Phase 1 : First bypass old records, searching new record... Searching new records from beginning of log file... Phase 2 : Now process new records (Flush history on disk after 20000 hosts)... Warning: awstats has detected that some hosts names were already resolved in your logfile /usr/share/doc/awstats/examples/logresolvemerge.pl /var/www/xxxx.com/logs/*-access.log |. If DNS lookup was already made by the logger (web server), you should change your setup DNSLookup=1 into DNSLookup=0 to increase awstats speed. Jumped lines in file: 0 Parsed lines in file: 814 Found 0 dropped records, Found 0 corrupted records, Found 0 old records, Found 814 new qualified records. It also produced the file in the DatDir: /var/lib/awstats/awstats052010.xxxx.com.txt which contains what I would expect. BUT when I visit: xxxx.com/awstats/awstats.pl it tells me Last Update: Never updated (See 'Build/Update' on awstats_setup.html page) and the rest of the page is blank.   • Magento, NGINX, PHP-FPM, APC, MEMCACHED, 16gb Ram CentOS, Spiking PHP-FPM to 100% CPU

    I have been trying to resolve my issue of spiking cpu caused by php-fpm processes. I've reduced the php-fpm config settings to: pm = ondemand pm.max_children = 12 pm.start_servers = 2 pm.min_spare_servers = 2 pm.max_spare_servers = 10 pm.max_requests = 500 php_admin_value[memory_limit] = 128M Problem still exists. I'm running a Joomla main site (which is having no problems) and a Magento store in a sub-directory. My server is a Linux CentOS, running NGINX, APC, Memcached, Full Page Cache and php-fpm. My server has 8 cores and 16gb dedicated ram. My host has shut down my server several times the past week because my php-fpm processes are consuming the entire network. A lot of the individual php-fpm processes are getting over 50% cpu. I've hired several "professionals" and none of them was able to help me, so now broke and stumped, I'm turning to you guys for help. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. the server is not using much memory: Mem: 16777216k total, 1204040k used, 15573176k free My.conf settings: query_cache_size = 128M innodb_buffer_pool_size = 512M open-files-limit = 8192 table_cache=4096 I just noticed that someone changed my innodb_buffer_pool_size to 512M. Shouldn't this be set to 80% of available ram? So I have 16gb ram so it should be set at 12G; however, I set it at 10G. What do you think? I made that change and restart everything. Php-fpm is still spiking cpu. Here is just 1 php-fpm process: 23942 user 17 0 507m 99m 27m R 90.9%CPU 0.6 0:03.46 php-fpm I'm sure there may be more information you will need to help, so just let me know what you guys need to help me figure this out.     Hi, I'm currently replicating the setup of a CentOS box an am running into a strange error while trying to mount a samba share that resides on a NAS. The error I'm getting is: mount error 127 = Key has expired Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs) The settings are identical to the old machine, the password is definitely correct as well. I have googled the issue of course, and looked at every single page that references this issue (not that many) and have still not found an answer. The older CentOS box is using version 3.0.28-0.el4.9 of Samba and the one I'm trying to setup now is 3.0.33-3.7.el5_3.1. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but it's certainly one of the only differences between the 2 setups. When I try the mount command this appears in the syslog: Sep 8 10:51:54 helvetica2 kernel: Status code returned 0xc0000072 NT_STATUS_ACCOUNT_DISABLED Sep 8 10:51:54 helvetica2 kernel: CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -127 Sep 8 10:51:54 helvetica2 kernel: CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -127 The account is very much not disabled as it works on the old box using the same credentials.     I tried to update the BIOS from my HP DL160G6's. Unfortunately the Windows update degraded my BIOS version from 243 to 237. But when I try to upgrade both servers to version the update fails. First I got a warning like: CMOS Layout difference between System ROM and ROM file has detected. AFU recommand (sic) adding /C commands of your original input commands. Press "A" to accept AFU's recommendation. Press "F" to keep original input commands. And the update did not do anything. But now I get a message like: Reading flash ........ done Bootblock checksum ... ok Module checksums ..... bad Error: BIOS checksum error And the update stops. I tried some commands form this page: http://www.ami.com/support/downloads/txt/AFU_README.TXT But I don't try to much, the servers are still booting. Does anyone know how to update my servers to BIOS version 245?     I am dealing with a frustrating problem with Joomla that is going to require some url trickery. The idea is straight-forward but after reading a bunch of guides for mod-rewrite, I still can't seem to get it work. Let's say my site is www.mysite.com. Joomla is already performing some rewriting for SEF urls so I have links like www.mysite.com/home and www.mysite.com/news and so on. I want to be able to have (4) pseudo-subdirectories like www.mysite.com/mode1/ and www.mysite.com/mode2/ and so on. These subdirectories should work as if the subdirectory isn't there, ie both www.mysite.com/mode1/home and www.mysite.com/mode2/home should pull up the same www.mysite.com/home. It should point any www.mysite.com/mode1/anypagehere to www.mysite.com/anypagehere. The reason I am asking for this is because I will be reading the url for mode1, mode2, etc, to modify the template page. There will be a landing page that will direct people to /mode1/ and /mode2/ etc and the template will change based on that. Note, that I don't want to actually pass a parameter to the url accessible by a GET or whatever because Joomla removes it (perhaps because of my current mod_rewrite settings).     Pardon me, this is my first attempt at Nginx-Jetty instead of Apache-JK-Tomcat. I deployed myapp.war file to $JETTY_HOME/webapps/, and the app is accessible at the url: http://myIP:8080/myapp I did a default installation of Nginx, and the default Nginx page is accessible at myIP Then, I modified the default domain under /etc/nginx/sites-enabled to the following: server { listen 80; server_name mydomain.com; access_log /var/log/nginx/localhost.access.log; location / { #root /var/www/nginx-default; #index index.html index.htm; proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8080/myapp/; } error_page 500 502 503 504 /50x.html; location = /50x.html { root /var/www/nginx-default; } } Now I get the index page of mypp (running in jetty) when I hit myIP, which is good. But all the links are malformed. eg. The link to css is mydomain.com/myapp/css/style.css while what it should have been is mydomain.com/css/style.css. It seems to be mapping mydomain.com to 127.0.0.1:8080 instead of 127.0.0.1:8080/myapp/ Any idea what am missing? Do I need to change anything on the Jetty side too?

  • untrusted (self-sign) certificate on android browser

    Hi all, Apologies for the brevity of this question but due to an unfortunate series of events, I've managed to brick my PC so am posting from my phone... We've just set up Windows Small Business Server 2008 at work which has an external web portal accessible via HTTPS. We haven't yet bought?installed any certificates. The portal provides access to email, sharepoint, remote desktop, etc.... (I'm aware some of these are never going to work on the phone) From firefox / other desktop browsers, this displays an "untrusted cert' warning which I can choose to ignore. When browsing from my mobile I get a popup notification which says. "A secure connection could not be established" when I OK this (my only option) I see the standard android-generated "unable to load page - has it moved?" Page. Does anyone know of a way to either accept the certificate temporarily or allow untrusted certificates generally? I'm aware that the latter option is non-ideal in the mid to long term but at the moment, I need to access the portal and am willing to either toggle settings as/when required or forego using the mobile for banking, etc... to mitigate my risk. The server which from I want to rewrite requests is another apache server listening on port 80. I can manage it to work well if I don't try to enable SSL connection as the required way to connect. But I need all requests to Django server encrypted with SSL so I generally used this directive to achieve this ( on my public webserver ): Alias /dirname "/var/www/dirname" SSLVerifyClient none SSLOptions +FakeBasicAuth SSLRequireSSL AuthName "stuff name" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile /etc/httpd/djangoserver.passwd require valid-user # redirect all request to django.test:80 RewriteEngine On RewriteRule (.*)$ http://django.test/$1 [P] This configuration works if I try to load a specific page trough the external server from my browser. It is not working clicking my django application urls ( even tough the url seems correct when I put my mouse over). The url my public server is trying to serve use http ( instead of https ) and the directory "dirname" I specified on my apache configuration disappear, so it says that the page was not found. I think it depends on Django and its WSGI handler . Does anybody went trough my same problem? PS: I have already tried to modify the WSGI script .   • PDF Converter wanted: Convert 8.5*11 PDF images into 600*800px PDF images for the Nook

    I have PDF files that are maritime charts, For example this one from the Delaware Bay http://ocsdata.ncd.noaa.gov/BookletChart/12304_BookletChart_HomeEd.pdf There is a lot of detailed information in the image. When I show them on a monitor the details are shown. When I put them on the Nook they are sized to fit the Nook screen (about 3*5) and all the details are lost. Since the Nook pdf reader does not have a zoom feature, the charts are unreadable. I'd like to convert them to fit on the Nook screen(600*800px). This means the images would need to be sliced into multiple images. (ie a single image (page) would get split into 5 rows and 4 columns) In a perfect world they would get converted with a slight overlap, left to right, top to bottom. I could then page through the smaller slices to find the section I need. I had used PaperCrop in the past to convert two col PDF's (highly recommended) but it can't do anything with the images. ImageMagick does a lot with combining images, but I didn't see any split options to split the image into tiles. Windows program preferred. Thanks!

Unfortunately, we're running into extreme slowness when we attempt to use the remote DB - page load times go from ~200 milliseconds to 5-10 seconds. Latency between the servers is minimal - a tenth or two of a millisecond. Number of queries doesn't seem to make a difference - we seem the same 5-10 second delay whether a page has 12 queries or 250. Any suggestions about where I should start troubleshooting here? I'm quite confused.

  • Installing ikiwiki on nginx - fastcgi/fcgi wrapper

    My ultimate goal is to setup ikiwiki, my current goal is to get a fcgi wrapper working for nginx, so I can move on to the next step... The ikiwiki page points out this page as an example for a fcgi wrapper: http://technotes.1000lines.net/?p=23 So far I've installed the ikiwiki and libfcgi-perl modules through aptitude: aptitude install libfcgi-perl aptitude install ikiwiki It installed those packages as well as some minimal dependency packages. So the next step following the guide at technotes, I grabbed http://technotes.1000lines.net/fastcgi-wrapper.pl but I'm not sure where to actually place this file... do I run it as a service? The script makes a socket file in /var/run/nginx but that directory does not exist.. do I manually create it? So in addition to the .pl file for the cgi wrapper, I need to also define a separate cgi file for parameters. If my conf looks like this... server { listen 80; server_name notes.domain.org; access_log /www/notes/public_html/notes.domain.org/log/access.log; error_log /www/notes/public_html/notes.domain.org/log/error.log; location / { root /www/notes/public_html/notes.domain.org/public/; index index.html; } } And I don't have a cgi-bin directory, where exactly should I create it within my structure, and regarding that I'd obviously have to update the below before I include it in my conf, but I'm just not exactly sure how this would work out. # /cgi-bin configuration location ~ ^/cgi-bin/.*\.cgi$ { gzip off; fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/nginx/perl_cgi-dispatch.sock; [1]* fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /www/blah.com$fastcgi_script_name; [2]* include fastcgi_params; [3]* } Also since the user is www-data and /var/run is root owned, what's the proper way of giving it access?   • Windows 2008 Terminal Services "Easy Print" and Matrix Printers

    Server: Windows 2008 Server Standard SP2 with "Terminal Services" role Clients: Windows XP SP3 + .NET 3.5 Framework SP1 + Remote Desktop Client 7.0 We are using "Easy Print" feature which allows programs running on server to "see" printers installed on client machines. Everything works fine, EXCEPT when we send a text-only output to a dot-matrix printer. In this case, the printer only outputs a blank page. At first, we had problems with the error "Windows Presentation Foundation Terminal Server Print W has encountered a problem and needs to close." but this was fixed by replacing TsWpfWrp.exe with the one from Vista SP1 as suggested here. But now, we only get a blank page! Every other (graphical) document we sent to printer works 100%. We also tried to use the "Generic text-only" driver, but the result is same. Now we are trying to change parameters like print processor on "advanced" tab from printer driver to see if something happen. But this is just guessing and we really don't know what to try anymore. The problem appears to be on Easy Print driver, but we found almost no resources about it. Any tips are welcome.

  • Creating a DNS Server

    OK, I am a complete newbie to all this, so please bear with me. I want to create a DNS Server (like Google does - 8.8.8.8). I understand that a DNS Server is a Server that gives a IP on being given a hostname, ie. when I ask it what is the IP of google.com, it says "64.233.160.0". So, what I want to do is create a similar one that holds records of what translates to what. I thought of this since it looks to be similar to a webserver - ask for a page and it gives back the page. That is, when my machine has the IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and people chose xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx as their Primary DNS Server, then when they ask "www.google.com", I sould be able to tell "64.233.160.0". So, how do I create this DNS Server that is accessible to everyone in the world ? It would be easier if we have something like EasyPHP which is the analogue to a webserver here. I am sorry if I have caused any trauma because this might seem rubbish to experts ;) Adhityaa

    Hi, Following CodeIngiter's installation instructions, I extracted CodeIgniter into XAMPP's htdocs folder and placed its index.php at the root. When I navigated to the following url h t t p://127.0.0.1/index.php I got the following error messages: Warning: require_once(C:\xampp\htdocs/system/codeigniter/CodeIgniter.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\xampp\htdocs\index.php on line 115 Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'C:\xampp\htdocs/system/codeigniter/CodeIgniter.php' (include_path='.;C:\xampp\php\PEAR') in C:\xampp\htdocs\index.php on line 115 When I checked line 115 in the index.php, it stated: require_once BASEPATH.'codeigniter/CodeIgniter'.EXT; Experimenting a little, I put CodeIniter's "system" folder at the root as well, and it worked, providing me access to CodeIgniter's Welcome page, but the instructions did not say to do this. Experimenting further, when I put back the "system" folder and navigated to the original place where the index.php h t t p://127.0.0.1/codeigniter_1.7.2/index.php it worked. But myquestion is, how do I get to the CodeIgniter's welcome page by placing only the index.php in XAMPP's htdocs as instructed by CodeIgniter? Any assistance will be appreciated.

  • How to manage sub-domains on WinHost with IIS7 URL Rewrite 2.0?

    I'm trying out WinHost and I'm running into some issues with sub-domains. On WinHost, you can have multiple sub-domains per hosting account, but each sub-domain points to the root website. E.g. you can have www.example.com, sub1.example.com, and sub2.example.com but all of them display the content at http://www.example.com/. Other Hosts allow you to point sub-domains to a sub folder in your website. This would allow you to point sub1.example.com to /sub1, sub2.example.com to /sub2 and www.example.com to /. WinHost recommends using an asp/aspx page to redirect http://sub1.example.com to http://sub1.example.com/sub1, which points to /sub1. While that would work, I'd like to not have the subdomain in the url twice. So I tried using IIS7 URL Rewrite to point http://sub1.example.com to /sub1. Ben Powell describes this in detail on his blog. This is great, except Request.ApplicationPath is now /sub1/path/to/current/page.aspx, which breaks ASP.Net Themes (and probably other stuff too). What can I do to fix the ApplicationPath? Is there a better way to accomplish this?

  • Whys is System process listening on Port 80?

    I am running Windows 7 RC1. I have multiple issues getting IIS to work on my system and today when I installed a new application and I tried to load it using http:\localhost\MyApplication I get absolutely no errors and I get no page load. Just a pretty, white blank page. I did some digging and I found something about some other process listening on port 80 so I did a scan using netstat -aon | findstr 0.0:80 and discovered that PID 4 was listening on that port. PID 4 does not show in task manager so I fired up Process Explorer and it showed me that PID 4 is the System process. (Multiple google searches seems to indicate that System always uses PID 4). Since then I am basically stuck. I have no idea why System needs port 80 and what to do about it. If you google the following strings you will find two helpful Experts-Exchange articles at the top of the search results and you can read them for some helpful information. (If I gave the direct URL to the pages then Experts-Exchange would ask you to pay...but when you click on the results from a google search you can scroll all of the way to the bottom to read the exchanges.) Here are the google searches... "System Process is listening on port 80 (Vista)" "SYSTEM Process is listening on Port 80 and Preventing IIS Default Website from Running" The last entry from the first result showed how to do a trace of http.sys at the following URL: http://blogs.msdn.com/wndp/archive/2007/01/18/event-tracing-in-http-sys-part-1-capturing-a-trace.aspx Trace showed nothing useful. Any thoughts?
