Just an ability to build a query with user friendly interface, then show the result of this query in some table and maybe export it to Excel or print.   I'm trying to enter a date in a mysql table `ssdate` datetime The function that produces the date can output it in 3 formats: 1276142400000 Thu Jun 10 00:00:00 GMT-0400 2010 Fri Jun 4 2010 I'm wondering which of these would be easiest to convert to this field format? Since I'm trying to save only the date, is there a better option than datetime that would work with one of these output formats?

  I have a table where each row has a start and stop date-time. These can be arbitrarily short or long spans. I want to query the sum duration of the intersection of all rows with two start and stop date-times. How can you do this in MySQL? Or do you have to select the rows that intersect the query start and stop times, then calculate the actual overlap of each row and sum it client-side?

  Hello, I have a table with measures and the time this measures have been taken in the following form: MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS AM. I have measures over many days starting at the same time every day.The datas are minute by minute so basically the seconds are always = 0. I want to select only the measures for the first 5 minutes of each day. I would have used the where statement but the condition would only be on the minutes and note the date is there a way to do this? Thanks

  When I try to insert (lets say) 30 rows in my table. For example INSERT INTO customers(cust_name, cust_address, cust_city, cust_state, cust_zip, cust_country) VALUES( 'Pep E. LaPew', '100 Main Street', 'Los Angeles', 'CA', '90046', 'USA' ), ( 'M. Martian', '42 Galaxy Way', 'New York', 'NY', '11213', 'USA' ), ... ; And cust_name has to be unique. How can I then identify the records that failed to insert because their cust_name already exists? Is it possible to return them?

I am not sure how to do this, as from what I can see it would require me to group the rows by person_id and then select the rows which contain all group_ids. I'm looking for something which will preserve the use of keys without resorting to string operations on group_concat() or such.
