  • Download HTML and Images with WGet without first few lines

    I'm attempting to use wget with the -p option to download specific documents and the images linked in the HTML. The problem is, the site that is hosting the HTML has some non-html information preceding the HTML. This is causing wget to not interpret the document as HTML and doesn't search for images. Is there a way to have wget strip the first X lines and/or force searching for images?   • iPhone UIWebView: loadData does not work with certain types (Excel, MSWord, PPT, RTF)

    My task is to display the supported document types on an iPhone with OS 3.x, such as .pdf, .rtf, .doc, .ppt, .png, .tiff etc. Now, I have stored these files only encrypted on disk. For security reasons, I want to avoid storing them unencrypted on disk. Hence, I prefer to use loadData:MIMEType:textEncodingName:baseURL: instead of loadRequest: to display the document because loadData allows me to pass the content in a NSData object, i.e. I can decrypt the file in memory and have no need to store it on disk, as it would be required when using loadRequest. The problem is that loadData does not appear to work with all file types: Testing shows that all picture types seem to work fine, as well as PDFs, while the more complex types don't. I get a errors such as: NSURLErrorDomain Code=100 NSURLErrorDomain Code=102 WebView appears to need a truly working URL for accessing the documents as a file, despite me offering all content via the NSData object already. Here's the code I use to display the content: [webView loadData:data MIMEType:type textEncodingName:@"utf-8" baseURL:nil]; The mime-type is properly set, e.g. to "application/msword" for .doc files. Does anyone know how I could get loadData to work with all types that loadRequest supports? Or, alternatively, is there some way I can tell which types do work for sure (i.e. officially sanctioned by Apple) with loadData? Then I can work twofold, creating a temp unencrypted file only for those cases that loadData won't like. Update Looks like I'm not the first one running into this. This is probably a bit more memory-intensive, though, as both the server and the webview will probably both hold the entire contents in memory as two copies then, as opposed to using loadData, where both would rather share the same data object. (Mind you, I'll have to hold the decrypted data in memory, that's the whole point here).

  • How to tile a UIWebView? (iPhone)

    I need to use tiles with a UIWebview to improve the rendering and scrolling of the content. I tried to find some info in Google but it seems that there are no examples or technical info about this subject. I am doing some test with CATiledLayer class without luck... Basically, I want to replicate the same that Mobile Safari does with the content of a website. You can see how Safari makes tiles when you see the squared background. Any help will be very welcome!   • Basic HTTP Authentication using Obj C and Xcode.

    Hi Everyone, I am hoping someone can help me with a question i have relating to Basic HTTP Authentication in an Xcode 2.3 application. Basically i have a PHP page that is on our server and when called with certain parameters returns data relating to the servers condition etc. i have managed to get a small Xcode application working where by it reads the data from the page and populates an NSTextView with the data. however to make sure this information stays safe i have setup basic HTTP Authentication on the page, but i cannot work out how to provide the username and password in XCode. here is my code to retrieve the page. NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.google.com"]; NSString *content = [NSString stringWIthContentsOfUrl:url]; [myTextView setString:content]; i am still at a very basic beginner level regarding xcode and obj c, so nice simple examples of how i go about this would really be appreciated.   • WPF listbox : problem with selection

In my XAML file, I have a ListBox declared like this : <ListBox x:Name="lstDeck" Height="280" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Deck}" > <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <ListBoxItem Content="{Binding}" /> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> In my view model, Deck is an ObservableCollection, so that binding directly displays the content of my collection. But when I have several value that hold the same value (for example "10" six times), the selection in the ListBox has a weird behaviour : it select 2-3 elements instead of the only the one on which I clicked. Moreover, when I click to another listBoxItem, it doesn't unfocus the previous selected one. Then it is impossible to see which item is actually selected, and impossible to get the SelectedIndex value. Has someone an idea?

    Hi All, I am new to Iphone development , I want to create an application in which I have to upload some data on php server using my Iphone application. For this I have an file on the Iphone whose content I have to upload on php server. For this I have converted the content of the file in NSData and now I want to encrypt this nsdata object and then pass it to the php server and on php server firstly I have to decrypt the nsdata object then I have to upload it on the server. But I am not able to find any way by which I can encrypt some data in Iphone app and then decrypt it in php. And also I want to compress the encrypted data before transferring it to php and then uncompress that data on php. The complete flow of my application is IPhone NSData -- Encrypted NsData -- Compressed Encrypted Data php Compressed Encrypted Data -- uncompressed encrypted data -- decrypted (original) NSData.   • Problem with Twitter basic authentication using AJAX

    I'm developing a javascript App that needs, as part of its functionality, for users to be able to update their Twitter status. The App is designed to work on mobiles, and as such I don't really want to be sending users all the way over to the Twitter site to sign in; they should just be able to pass their credentials to the app, and I'll handle all the signin. So I'm trying to use the Basic Auth with the restful API. However, whenever I call this code, I get a "401 Unauthorized" error from Twitter.   • A good web 'desktop' JavaScript, CSS, or both, library that likes ASP.NET Web Forms

    I've come across, in passing, several suites of functions, widgets, frameworks, etc. that seek to produce a desktop like experience on the web. Most are JavaScript and CSS tools that handle web content on an emulation of the desktop-paradigmed UI, e.g. TreeView + Content == Explorer. Is there such a library nicely compatible with ASP.NET Forms without weeks of grief? I'll also settle for something similar, but instead of native ASP.NET, a library for any of the open source CMS products for ASP.NET. (Umbraco is at the top of my list, followed by mojoPortal. I aspire to the level of coding their creators easily demonstrate in the product. [PS, I don't want a 'desktop' ux per se, just light and simple dynamic layout for drag 'n drop, dock windows, a dock bar?.. and other fancy magic.

    I'll admit I'm not very adept at key verification. What I have is a script that downloads messages from a POP3 server, and I'm attempting to verify the DKIM signatures in PHP. I've already figured out the body hash (bh) validation check, but I can't figure out the header validation. http://www.dkim.org/specs/rfc4871-dkimbase.html#rfc.section.6.1.3 Below is an example of my message headers. I've been able to use the Mail::DKIM package to validate the signature in Perl, so I know it's good. I just can't seem to figure out the instructions in the RFC and translate them into PHP code.   • Trouble using Loader, can't access properties of loaded swf

    May not have asked question correctly so I’m asking again. I’m using Flash AS3 with code in actions layer. Main movieclip onstage is : design_mc. Within it is a movieclip already in place onstage with an instance name clipart_mc. Now I’m also loading a ListBox to the stage and each time a selection is made from listbox myLoader9 is used to load selected .swf into design_mc.clipArt_mc. Now within each of the .swf files loaded into design_mc.clipArt_mc there is a mc I’d like to color transform called color_mc. So now the listbox is onstage and I make a selection that places heart.swf inside of design_mc.clipArt_mc. I want to access heart.swf so I did this: var child:DisplayObject = myLoader9.content.contentLoaderInfo.content.color_mc; var colorTrans3:ColorTransform = new ColorTransform(); var trans3:Transform = new Transform(child); I still can not get to heart.swf.   • Include OpenX ad in a jquery-ui dialog?

    I'm loading some content into a jquery-ui dialog via .ajax. That's all working fine but now I've been given an OpenX ad to embed into the dialog & can't figure out how to do it. I know all the script is stripped when coming in via ajax, & I know how to use $.getScript to load .js files for use in the dialog, but the OpenX ad script I've got uses document.write so I think it's expecting to be embedded inline into the desired position on the page. I've tried appending the escaped script string into the div on ajax success of the main content as below, but this results in the page being redirected to a page with just the ad on it. Attempt shown below: $("#" + idHelpPage).find(".adScript").append("<script type='text/javascript'>var m3_u = (location.protocol=='https:'?'https://d1.openx.org/ajs.php':'http://d1.openx.org/ajs.php');var m3_r = ... etc etc I'm ok with jquery but not great with javascript, would really appreciate any help!   • Why does my UIActivityIndicatorView only display once?

    I'm developing an iPhone app that features a tab-bar based navigation with five tabs. Each tab contains a UITableView whose data is retrieved remotely. Ideally, I would like to use a single UIActivityIndicatorView (a subview of the window) that is started/stopped during this remote retrieval - once per tab. Here's how I set up the spinner in the AppDelegate: - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { [window addSubview:rootController.view]; activityIndicator = [[UIActivityIndicatorView alloc] initWithActivityIndicatorStyle:UIActivityIndicatorViewStyleWhiteLarge]; [activityIndicator setCenter:CGPointMake(160, 200)]; [window addSubview:activityIndicator]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; } Since my tabs were all performing a similiar function, I created a base class that all of my tabs' ViewControllers inherit from. I'm presented with the empty table and the spinner. As soon as the content loads, the spinner goes away. Strangely, when I click the second tab, the NSLog messages from the -parseXMLFileAtURL: method show up in the log, but the screen hangs on the first tab's view and I do not see the spinner. As soon as the content is done downloading, the second tab's view appears. I suspect this has something to do with threading, with which I'm still becoming acquainted. Am I doing something obviously wrong here?

    I'm attempting to add some text to the directions results the Google Maps API returns to the specified div (directionsPanel). This code below would work fine, except that the jQuery line fires before loadFromWaypoints has finished modifying the DOM. If I run that line by manually triggering it after the directions content has finished loading, it executes as expected. directions = new GDirections(map, directionsPanel); directions.loadFromWaypoints(waypoints); $("td[@jscontent='address']").append(" some content"); How can I add some sort of listener (on perhaps either the loadFromWaypoints callback function or the directionsPanel div itself) to execute my jQuery line after the DOM has finished reloading?

  • How to make custom WCF error handler return JSON response with non-OK http code?

    I'm implementing a RESTful web service using WCF and the WebHttpBinding. Currently I'm working on the error handling logic, implementing a custom error handler (IErrorHandler); the aim is to have it catch any uncaught exceptions thrown by operations and then return a JSON error object (including say an error code and error message - e.g. { "errorCode": 123, "errorMessage": "bla" }) back to the browser user along with an an HTTP code such as BadRequest, InteralServerError or whatever (anything other than 'OK' really). The problem is that the http body now has the text 'Failed to load source for: http://localhost:7000/bla..' instead of the actual JSON data.. Any ideas? I'm considering using the last approach and just sticking the JSON in the HTTP StatusMessage header field instead of in the body, but this doesn't seem quite as nice?

  • Boost Thread Hanging on _endthreadex

    I think I am making a simple mistake, but since I noticed there are many boost experts here, I thought I would ask for help. I am trying to use boost threads(1_40) on windows xp. The main program loads a dll, starts the thread like so (note this is not in a class, the static does not mean static to a class but private to the file). static boost::thread network_thread; network_start() { // do network stuff until quit is signaled } DllClass::InitInstance() { network_thread = boost::thread(boost::bind<void>(network_start)); } DllClass::ExitInstance() { //signal quit (which works) //the following code is slightly verbose because I'm trying to figure out what's wrong try { if (network_thread.joinable() ) { network_thread.join(); } else { TRACE("Too late!"); } } catch (boost::thread_interrupted&) { TRACE("NET INTERRUPTED"); } } The problem is that the main thread is hanging on the join, and the network thread is hanging at the end of _endthreadex. What am I misunderstanding?

  • Maven grails plugin issue

    I'm trying to create the pom for an existing grails project via: mvn grails:create-pom -Dourcompany.com Now, we have our maven repository available in a local nexus repo: http://ourcompany.com/nexus But when i run the above, i get the below error Downloading: http://ourcompany.com/nexus/content/groups/public/ourcompany/com/hibernate-core/3.3.1.GA/hibernate-core-3.3.1.GA.jar [INFO] Unable to find resource 'ourcompany.com:hibernate-core:jar:3.3.1.GA' in repository central (http://repo1.maven.org/maven2) [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [ERROR] BUILD ERROR But it is in there at simply: http://ourcompany.com/nexus/content/groups/public/hibernate-core/3.3.1.GA/hibernate-core-3.3.1.GA.jar Ie, w/o the "ourcompany.com" path. From my perspective, it should just try to pull down hibernate w/o inserting the groupId, but maybe i'm not understanding how i'm supposed to run this command?
