  • Using pyodbc to insert rows into a MS Access MDB, how do I escape the paramaters?

    Hi, I'm using pyodbc to talk to a legacy Access 2000 .mdb file. I've got a cursor, and am trying to execute this: c.execute("INSERT INTO [Accounts] ([Name], [TypeID], [StatusID], [AccountCat], [id]) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?)", [u'test', 20, 10, 4, 2]) However, doing so results in pyodbc.Error: ('HYC00', '[HYC00] [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Optional feature not implemented (106) (SQLBindParameter)') I understand I can simply change the question marks to the literal values, but in my experience proper escaping of strings across databases is... not pretty. PHP and mysql team up to bring mysql_real_escape_string and friends, but I can't seem to find pyodbc's function for escaping values. If you could let me know what the recommended way of inserting this data (from python) is, that'd be very helpful. Alternatively, if you have a python function to escape the odbc strings, that would also be great. Thanks for the help.

In the students-new view, when the student's year is selected, the javascript figures out which courses are available to that year and offers the selection in a new drop down menu. When the document loads, the <div #confirmation> is deleted from the markup! I had a similar issue earlier, but I cannot use that solution here. On this page I can have multiple PopUp divs. When I added the initialization in just before opening it; the form popped up. But after I close it, the div is removed; so I am not able to see the popup again.

    Problem: Flex/Flash4 client (built with FlashBuilder4) displays the xml sent from the server exactly as is - the datagrid keeps the format of the xml. I need the datagrid to parse the input and place the data in the correct rows and columns of the datagrid. flow: click on a date in the tree and it makes a server request for batch information in xml form. Using a CallResponder I then update the datagrid's dataProvider.   • JQuery - Ajax saving sortables in connected lists when sortable item is moved

    I have multiple JQuery sortable lists that connect with each other... They allow you to assign users to certain roles. Basically what I want to do is when a user is dragged from one list to another, I want JQuery to pick up the first list that the user was moved from so that I can send an AJAX request to delete it from that list in my database. I tried the following but every time you move the user over a list and haven't even dropped it within a list, it sends this request which means I'll be sending multiple AJAX requests... Does that make sense? $( ".selector" ).sortable({ out: function(event, ui) { ... } }); From my testing, I can use the following code to just update the list that user has been moved to so I've got the second half covered: $( ".selector" ).sortable({ receive: function(event, ui) { ... } }); Hopefully I am making sense :)

    I have a method whose callers require different datatypes. I could repeat the requisite conversions a dozen times by putting them in each of the callers, but it seems much more efficient to do it once in the called method. public String myMethod(String myArg) { return DoSomething(myArg); } public Int32 myMethod(String myArg) { return Convert.ToInt32(DoSomething(myArg)); } private String DoSomething(key) { return SomeList[key]; } If I have multiple methods that pull data from SomeList and have to utilize different data types then in each I have to do a type conversion. Examples might be session variables or query or form requests or any other number of things.   • Can I make clojure macro that will allow me to get a list of all functions created by the macro?

    I would like to have a macro which I'll call def-foo. Def-foo will create a function, and then will add this function to a set. So I could call (def-foo bar ...) (def-foo baz ...) And then there would be some set, e.g. all-foos, which I could call: all-foos => #{bar, baz} Essentially, I'm just trying to avoid repeating myself. I could of course define the functions in the normal way, (defn bar ...) and then write the set manually. A better alternative, and simpler than the macro idea, would be to do: (def foos #{(defn bar ...) (defn baz ...)} ) But I'm still curious as to whether there is a good way for the macro idea to work.

    I've got a button that I use with jQueryUI somethink like this (simplified). <button id="mybutton">Play<button> <script> $("#mybutton").button().toggle( function(){ $(this).text('Stop'); }, function(){ $(this).text('Start'); }, ); </script> This code breaks the way the button looks because when making it into the button widget, there's a new span added inside the button. So I'm changing the button value like this now $(this).find('span').text('Stop'); This is hacky because I can't treat the button as a black box anymore and have to go inside. Is there a clean way to do this?

  • Why does Font.registerFont throw an error the second time a swf is loaded?

    I've found an issue (in flash cs5) when using TLFTextfields and fonts shared at runtime, and I wondered if anyone has a solution. Here's the scenario. Fonts.swf: library for fonts (runtime shared DF4) Popup.swf: popup with a TLFTextfield (with text in it) using a font from Fonts.swf Main.swf : the main swf with a button that loads and unloads Popup.swf (using Loader or SafeLoader give the same results) Nice and simple, Run main.swf, click button and the popup appears with the text. Click the button again to remove the popup. All well and good now click the button again and I get the following error. ArgumentError: Error #1508: The value specified for argument font is invalid. at flash.text::Font$/registerFont() at Popup_fla::MainTimeline()[Popup_fla.MainTimeline::MainTimeline:12] I'm presuming it's happening because the font is already registered (checked when clicking before the load). Does anyone know how to get past this? I've created a variable to store how many items have been selected in the Menu Class. private int totalSelected; The var totalSelected is live updated. It can be changed anytime depending on actionPerformed() function.(Exp: totalSelected will add up all the selected items) In the Order Class, how can I access to the live update variable totalSelected in order to retrieve the live update value? CUrrently my application seems to every now and then require the user to authenticate into google apps. I think it has to do with session dying out or so.     On my Windows 7 system, the GetVersionEx Windows API function returns "6.0", indicating Windows Vista, when it should return "6.1".   • object won't die (still references to it that I can't find)

    I'm using parallel-python and start a new job server in a function. after the functions ends it still exists even though I didn't return it out of the function (I used weakref to test this). I guess there's still some references to this object somewhere. My two theories: It starts threads and it logs to root logger. My questions: can I somehow findout in which namespace there is still a reference to this object. I have the weakref reference. Does anyone know how to detach a logger? What other debug suggestions do people have? here is my testcode: def pptester(): js=pp.Server(ppservers=nodes) js.set_ncpus(0) fh=file('tmp.tmp.tmp','w') tmp=[] for i in range(200): tmp.append(js.submit(ppworktest,(),(),('os','subprocess'))) js.print_stats() return weakref.ref(js) thanks in advance Wolfgang

    Hi, is there a way to know if a variable passed into a function is a native object? I mean, i have a function that requires only native objects as arguments, for every other type of variable it throws an error. So: func(Array); //works func(String); //works func(Date); //works func(Object); //works ... func([]); //Throwr error func({}); //Throws error I want to know if there's a way to distinguish between native objects and everything else.

  • Find the minimum gap between two numbers in an AVL tree

    I have a data structures homework, that in addition to the regular AVL tree functions, I have to add a function that returns the minimum gap between any two numbers in the AVL tree (the nodes in the AVL actually represent numbers.) Lets say we have the numbers (as nodes) 1 5 12 20 23 21 in the AVL tree, the function should return the minimum gap between any two numbers. In this situation it should return "1" which is |20-21| or |21-20|. It should be done in O(1). Tried to think alot about it, and I know there is a trick but just couldn't find it, I have spent hours on this. There was another task which is to find the maximum gap, which is easy, it is the difference between the minimal and maximal number.
