If I submit a form and in the action attribute of it i pass "$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']" and at the same time i am using url rewriting for the same page.. then these two things will contradict each other resulting in the display of action value of form in address bar.. so how can i manage this to get the url rewrited form of $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']? here the rewrite rule is to change the name of url file likewise as if form is submitted to any file say direction.php then rewrite will change it to something 30/redirect.html

  In a CD collection program, I have each artist's country of origin stored in the main database and want to display a map of the world which: Colour-codes each country depending on the number of CDs by artists in that country Allows clicking on each country to filter a list of CDs to only ones by artists in that country This is a heavily simplified version of what I'm trying to do, but if I can at least get this far the rest should be easy enough to figure out. So far the closest thing I've found to what I'm trying to do is here: http://www.synergetechsolutions.com/blog/analytics-world-map-control Ideally I don't want to be embedding Flash in my program though, and the only other solutions I've found all involve SVG which I haven't managed to get working in practice outside of a web browser control (and I DEFINITELY don't want to be embedding a browser in the forms). Something in pure managed code and either GDI+ or WPF would be preferable. Are there any existing components that would get me started, or can anyone suggest how to approach it from scratch?

  At the moment I have two tables, products and options. Products contains id title description Options contains id product_id sku title Sample data may be: Products id: 1 title: 'test' description: 'my description' Options id: 1 product_id: 1 sku: 1001 title: 'red' id: 2 product_id: 1 sku: 1002 title: 'blue' I need to display each item, with each different option. At the moment, I select the rows in products and iterate through them, and for each one select the appropriate rows from options. I then create an array, similar to: [product_title] = 'test'; [description] = 'my description'; [options][] = 1, 1001, 'red'; [options][] = 2, 1002, 'blue'; Is there a better way to do this with just sql (I'm using codeigniter, and would ideally like to use the Active Record class)?

  I have a table view in which I'm using sectionIndexTitlesForTableView to display an index. However, when I scroll the table, the index scrolls with it. This also results in very slow refreshing of the table. Is there something obvious I could be doing wrong? I want the index to remain in place on the right while the table scrolls. I need to check to see where the time period falls in a 2 year period broken into two lots of quarters then display what quarters each record falls into. Quarter 1 includes June 09, Jul 09, Aug 09 Quarter 2 includes Sept 09, Oct 09, Nov 09 Quarter 3 includes Dec 09, Jan 10, Feb 10 Quarter 4 includes Mar 10, Apr 10, May 10 Quaretr 5 includes Jun 10, Jul 10... e.g. 01/10/09 - 01/06/10 would fall into quarters 2, 3, 4 & 5 I am very new to .NET so any examples would be much appreciated.

• iphone refresh images UIImageView

  I have a rather basic question. I have several(5) UIImageView images on my screen. When I click a button, I want to change each image to something else. I also want to play a sound as each image is changed. So I basically want a clicking sound as each image changes. The problem is, for some reason if I have say 5 images, the sound gets played 5 times first and then the images change. It's like the images only refresh when control goes back to the user for input. How can I "force" it to refresh the images as soon as i tell it what image to display? I'm new to the iphone/macworld, so go easy on me :-) Rick

  Hi there, I am a Java newbie trying to maintain an application that works fine under J2SE 5.0 (32- and 64-bit) but has a very specific problem when run under Java SE 6 64-bit: [Tims-MPB:~] tlynch% java -version java version "1.6.0_15" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_15-b03-226) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.1-b02-92, mixed mode) The application is cross-platform and reportedly works correctly on Java SE 6 under Windows, though I haven't been able to verify that myself. The program uses a JTextField for some text entry and a JLabel to indicate the text to be entered. • Best way to export an icon from photoshop?

  Hi, I'm writing a program to notify me of new email. It's mostly complete, I'm just working on the notifyicon code now. It's supposed to display the usual application icon with a box containing the count of unread emails inside it. I created icons for this in photoshop, exported them as 16x16 transparent PNGs, then converted them into windows ico files using ConvertIcon.com. Given that the image was 16x16 and the WinXP system tray uses 16x16 icons, I would assume the images would work. HOWEVER, when I start the application and get an email, the icon's all blurry: http://cyndle.com/bPJ7

  Hi, iPhone/objC question: How do I go about creating a custom keyboard/keypad that will show up when some one taps on a UITextField? I would like to display a keypad with a, b, c, 1, 2, 3 and an enter button, nothing else. The keypad should work and behave like the standard keyboard does (in behavior) but it will definitely look different. I can't find any example and the best I've found is to filter characters with existing keyboard which is an unacceptable solution. Thanks in advance, Hiren.

• How to refresh an activity?

  Hi Guys, after implementing some Android Apps, including several Map activities, I try to refresh the activity when the GPS listener's onLocationChanged() mehtod is called. I have no Idea how to tell the map activity to refresh on its own and display the new coords... the coords to store will have to be in global values, so that the location listener will have access to it.   Let's say I do this: $("#content").load(...); Within what I'm loading some javascript is included: var myCounter = 0; var myInterval = setInterval(function(){ myCounter++; $("#counter-display").html("Count: "+myCounter); }); For an unknown reason, if I reload the content with $("#content").load(...); - myInterval is now being called twice. I tried doing something like: if (myInterval !== undefined){ //dont set interval again } However, it doesn't work. Does anyone know any method so that myInterval is cleared on .load, without needing to put the javascript outside of the loaded file?

• Can't write text into textbox in ASP.NET web app

In the codebehind for the .ascx page (which I embed as below), I attempt to write a string to a textbox in a method like this: Code for embedding control: Control ctrl = Page.LoadControl("/RackRecable.ascx"); PlaceHolder1.Controls.Add(ctrl); Method to make string for inserting into textbox: string AppendDetails() { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); sb.Append("msg" + " " + textbox1.Text etc etc ); return sb.ToString(); } Called as (in codebehind event handler for button click): this.TextBox4.Text = AppendDetails(); I call it by using ATextBox.Text = AppendDetails (in the button click event handler). The textbox TextBox4 is in the designer file so I am confused why the text does not get written into this textbox (it is readonly and enabled). When stepping through, the textbox4 control will successfully show the text I want it to display in quick watch but not in the actual page, it won't. Any ideas? Thanks

  Hi guys, I'm working with the jQuery Validation plugin and I wrote the following code which adds a class to the element's parent if not valid (as well as inserting the actual error message at a particular location within the parent): errorPlacement: function(error, element) { element.parent().addClass('error'); error.insertBefore(element.parent().children("br")); } This works, however, if a field's content is corrected and becomes valid, the class obviously doesn't get removed from its parent (actually, neither does the error element, instead it just gets a display: none; CSS property). How can I check if an element becomes valid and remove its parent class if so ? Any help would be much appreciated, thank you !

  I have a Facebook connect app / canvas IFrame app which has a Like control for a fanpage. I'd like to detect when the user clicks the Like button to be able to display additional info (a discount coupon code). I'm using the latest Javascript API but the events that can be handled doesn't seem to include detection of social widget controls. The documentation for the Like Plugin doesn't show any events. However I know its definitely possible because if I have two Like buttons on a page they both instantly update each other if I like or unlike whatever it is.

• Android: making a custom ListView independent of adapters ?

  I am adding a local database as a cache to a remote web service in my android application to answer queries. I used ArrayAdapters before for list views to display the results from the web service. Now with a database cache, the result could be either a Cursor(from database) or a List(from web), which means the adapter can be CursorAdapter or ArrayAdapter too. Creating two adapters for one query doesn't seem to be a good idea. So I am wondering what would be the best way to refactor my current code to add this database feature? Thanks,

  I'm looking into developing a multi-tenant SaaS application, and I found several sites that describe a solid way to separate the data using tenantIDs and updateable views. e.g. This blog post It all hinges on the ability to have your user accounts authenticated from a master users table and then having their respective database connections use those user-specific credentials. This way, the views can pull the userid and map it to the tenantID to display that user's view. However, most PHP frameworks tend to be very static when it comes to database connections (stored in text config files). They appear to be at odds. Does anyone know: a) how to make CodeIgniter handle this gracefully? b) a different PHP framework that might?

• How does one suppress a 404 status code in a page?

  I've got a WordPress site that includes pages pulled from a different database. The problem is that these other pages return a 404 status code. (The WordPress posts/pages are fine.) The 404'ed pages display fine, and I removed the "Page not Found" text from the title tag in WordPress. But Googlebot and W3C see the 404 header. So: wow does one tell Apache to suppress a 404 status? And will Apache override WordPress's 404 header? Does that make sense? What other info and things should I be looking at? Can I suppress the status code in .htaccess so I don't change WP core files?

• editButtonItem set but no minus buttons?

  My edit button is placed in viewDidLoad: self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = self.editButtonItem; It shows up correctly on the nav bar, and tapping this button indeed change it to Done. However, no minus buttons show up in my table rows. Swiping a row, then tap Delete works, though. Any ideas? EDIT 1: Here's how I'm doing: - (void)loadView { tableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]]; tableView.delegate = self; tableView.dataSource = self; tableView.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight; self.view = tableView; } EDIT 2: My observation is that the edit and minus buttons display fine if my tableview is created in IB (RootViewController). The other two (or three) tableview are created by the aforemention code, so that might be the problem. Guess I'd have to dive in to isEditing, editing and whatnot.
