  • Rails: Showing the latest deploy date in web app.

    - by Josh Pinter
I'd like to show in our app when the latest production deploy was made, as a means of showing an ongoing commitment to improvement, etc, etc. Off the top of my head I'm thinking of getting a last_updated_at from one of the files, but I'd like to hear other thoughts. What's the best way to get the date of the latest production deploy dynamically? Thanks, Josh

  • Safari extensions: style of selectbox like safari's bookmark folders

    - by janoliver
Hey guys, I'm developing an extension for Safari 5 at the moment. In my extension, I use an additional toolbar, with selectboxes in it. Now, it would be great to style these like the folders in the bookmarks toolbar look. I know that it would be possible to replace my select with a completely styleable ul-list or somethin like that, but maybe there is a simpler solution. Doesn't apple provide extra tools to imitate their look? Best regards and thanks for help, Jan

  • ASP.NET Debugging Timing out with IIS

    - by Aren B
Finally broke down and seeking help, my client/iis (not sure which) usually times out after about 30s - 1 minute while im debugging (stepping through code) which not only causes me to lose my spot and have to start over (usually stepping faster, making more mistakes) but the IIS Debug session closes completely and I have to warm up the entire session again. What's the best way to get more time out of a debugging session? Debugging a vanilla 3.5 Web Site (not app) on IIS 7.5 Classic Pipeline

    - by Faruz
Were you asked any logic riddles in job interviews? Are you usually asking riddles in job interviews? What are they, and what are the answers? I was asked once how can you divide evenly 5 apples to 6 people without dividing any apple to 1/6 (or 1/12 or 1/18 etc.). (Would love to hear answers in the comments, I'm not sure my answer was the best)

  • Mercurial outgoing Hook

    - by Tom Bell
I'm looking to create a Mercurial hook that pushes to a backup remote repository when I push to a local repository. I thought I could hook the 'outgoing' hook, but this creates a infinite loop that isn't pretty. So is there like a post-push hook, or would it be best to have the repository I am pushing to have an 'incoming' hook to push the to the remote backup instead?

  • Nokogiri and Special Characters

    - by Moe
I'm using Nokogiri to grab the contents of the title tag on a webpage, but am having trouble with accented characters. What's the best way to deal with these? Here's what I'm doing: require 'open-uri' require 'nokogiri' doc = Nokogiri::HTML(open(link)) title = doc.at_css("title") At this point, the title looks like this: Rag\303\271 Instead of: Ragù How can I have nokogiri return the proper character (e.g. ù in this case)?

  • Good Package for Fitting Polynomial Trend Lines

    - by Rev316
Given a simple data set, I would like to be able to calculate a trending formula given it's a second order polynomial regression. In fact, it would be great if one could even forecast X periods during calculation (similar to what Excel does). I'm looking for a portable C/C++ package that's relatively easy to use, and allows it to spit out the "best-fit" (highest R^2 value) curve. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • phpThumb cannot find ImageMagick / Imagick

    - by fistameeny
Hi, I'm having a problem with phpThumb. It says in the documentation that to get the best out of it, use ImageMagick / Imagick. I've got this installed on the Server (running Centos 5.1), and can run convert --version and get the right info back. I can also run which convert which returns /usr/bin/convert However, phpThumb can't location the convert program - the demo's show that: (requires ImageMagick, this server is running "n/a" so it will not work) Does anyone have any pointers on how to fix this? Cheers, Matt
