  • Is it possible to have non-replicated data on an LDAP consumer?

    I've read all the available documentation, the Mastering OpenLDAP book, and like a zillion mail-list posts but I haven't found a way to make such scenario possible. I see several use cases for this scenario like an enterprise application syncing all users from the main LDAP of the Org but keeping it's own application related schemas and objects in its server. So please, could you point me in the right direction or help me discard the possibility at all?

Is there a list of domains that I can block at the router level? On a machine level, I have set the hosts file from www.mvps.org and that works on my machine. However, I want to implement something at the router level too - so that all computers in my household are somewhat protected.

    Hej, In my worksheet where i have my pivot table i have many different filters to chose between. For the view of the eye it doesnt really look nice and i want to be able to maybe split tha t long list of filters into a few shorter once. But i cant figure out how to do this. Ive seen where i can move the whole pivot table, but then its all included and as one unsplitable piece.... anyone knows if this is possible??

    I am having this problem (apache2, ubuntu 12.04) I have put all my sites in /home/username/vhosts folder I have added permissions to home and username to be x and chmod -r 777 on vhosts Added /etc/hosts to access my sites with desired names Did a2enmod rewrite But still I have this error: [Sat Jun 23 00:05:23 2012] [crit] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: /home/username/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable WHY is it not readable? I did sudo -s su - www-data and with that I can correctly list the /home/username dir What is wrong with me or apache?

  • What filesystem comes closest to matching NTFS for support of ACLs, and highly-granular permissioning?

    It seems that most other filesystems handle the basic *nix permissions (ugo±rwx), with maybe an addition here or there. Or can be "made" to handle ACLs through the use of other tools on top of the system. On the wikipedia pages about filesystems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List%5Fof%5Ffile%5Fsystems & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison%5Fof%5Ffile%5Fsystems), it appears that while some do support extended meta-data, none support natively the level of permissioning that NTFS does. Am I wrong in this understanding?

  • Improve backup performance by watching files added/modified in given directories?

    I use SyncbackSE on Windows to back up files between two hard drives daily. Every time the application starts, it scans every single file in the directories that it watches before copying files that were added or modified. To improve performance, I was wondering if there were a Windows backup application that would hook into Windows to keep tracks of files that were added/modified in given directories, so that it only needs to go through this list when it comes time for a backup. I've done this once by following instructions on a website, now I cant find that site. As I can remember I opened a window by executing a command in "Run". There was a list of user accounts in opened window, then selected a user account and unchecked some option then the user account was gone from welcome screen.. Does anyone aware of this method?

Then I click on tools account settings data files and found personal folder as a defult file I tryed to remove it but I cant then I tried to set my new account as default but it didnt work

I need to know how to set privileges of me (as a user). I am the only user, but I want access to everything, but I don't want to manage my VPS logged in as root. So I am creating a username.   • How do I remove the selected tag filter when searching for Unanswered questions on Superuser?

    I've been looking for unanswered questions trying to build some reputation here. Once I select a tag filter in the sidebar, I'm shown all of the questions with that tag. Choosing more tags makes the filter more specific and choosing one of the tags from the set I've already chosen replaces the whole set with that one tag. But, how do I remove that lone tag so that I can return to the full list of Unanswered questions?

What does this mean, can i revert it to normal, has anything been modified and is there a list somewhere of color codes for windows file names.. ? (I can recall seeing blue somewhere before).

  • Data Sources (ODBC) hangs when trying to create a new database connection

    When I try to create a new database connection, the Data Sources (ODBC) programs hangs or takes a very long time to find the list of available SQL Servers. This only happens when there are other computers on the network, when my machine (a standard Windows 7 laptop) is alone, it works just fine. My question is: What should I look for in terms of SQL server or ODBC configurations that will take away this random behaviour?
