    Let's say I have the following class: class Person(val firstName:String, val lastName:String) Is there an automatic way to generate xml from this class without having to hand create a toXml() method? Ideally the output would be something like: <Person <firstNameJohn</firstName <lastNameSmith</lastName </Person It seems like there should be a way to do this without having to write all that out manually. Perhaps there is a trait I haven't found yet?

  • Making "helper" text in a form be a different color then typed text.

    <input name="phone" type="text" id="phone" value="Phone #" onfocus="value=''"> I've got two problems here. The main one is I would like the helper text (in this case "Phone Number") to be a different color then the inputted text from the user, to make it easier for the user to differentiate between filled and unfilled fields. The second is that with this methodology (onfocus="value''") if you mistype something in a field and come back to it you have to retype the whole thing which isn't really acceptable.

    How can I take a string in a format such as: 2008-06-02 00:00:00.0 and convert it to: 02-Jun-2008? Can I somehow take the original string, convert it to a Date object, then use a formatter to get the final output (rather than parsing the string myself)? Thanks!

    Hi guys, I'm revisiting this after a few weeks, because I could never get it to work before, and hoping to now. Please look at this website-notice the newsletter signup form at the top right. http://www.rattletree.com I am wanting it to look exactly this way for now, but when the user clicks in the box to enter their email address, the containing div will expand (or simply appear) above the email field to also include a "name" and "city" field. I'm using jquery liberally in the sight, so that is at my disposal. This form is in the header so any id info, etc can't be withing the body tag...     Hey guys, I have a laptop with a very sensitive touch pad, and wanted to code a small program that could block the mouse input when I was typing a paper or something. I didn't think it would be hard to do, considering everything I've seen on low-level hooks, but I was wrong (astounding, right?). I looked at a few examples, but the examples I've seen either block both keyboard and mouse, or just hide the mouse. Any help with this would be great.
