• Filtering log4net on method name - can't quite get it

  I'm using log4net to log my web app's progress, using Log4PostSharp to AOP-injectify all methods. This has the desired effect of logging (almost) everything and is fine. I now have a requirement to log JUST Page_Load methods to a file / console. I can obviously hamstring the log4postsharp class to do that, but then I'd be losing all the other logging. I've been looking at filters in log4net, starting with the StringMatch filter, but that only looks at the message being logged, and I'm after the method name. This put me onto the PropertyFilter, but still with no joy. My log4net.config snippet is thus: <appender name="RollingLogFileAppender" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender"> <filter type="log4net.Filter.PropertyFilter"> <key value="LocationInfo.MethodName"/> <stringToMatch value="Page_Load"/> </filter> <file value="d:\\xxxx\\yyyyy\\zzzzLog"/> As you can see, I'm trying to key into the MethodName of the logging event via LocationInfo, but I'm still getting everything logged. • Having problem dynamically invoking unmanaged VB COM dll from c#?

  I have a problem calling unmanaged VB COM dll from c#. This is dynamic invocation using loadLibrary and GetProcAddress. I can successfully loaded the dll using loadLibrary , but the GetProcAddress always return 0. • Package creation issues using SQL Developer

  So I've never worked with stored procedures and have not a whole lot of DB experience in general and I've been assigned a task that requires I create a package and I'm stuck. Using SQL Developer, I'm trying to create a package called JUMPTO with this code... create or replace package JUMPTO is type t_locations is ref cursor; procedure procGetLocations(locations out t_locations); end JUMPTO; When I run it, it spits out this PL/SQL code block... DECLARE LOCATIONS APPLICATION.JUMPTO.t_locations; BEGIN JUMPTO.PROCGET_LOCATIONS( LOCATIONS = LOCATIONS ); -- Modify the code to output the variable -- DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('LOCATIONS = ' || LOCATIONS); END; A tutorial I found said to take out the comment for that second line there. I've tried with and without the comment. When I hit "ok" I get the error... • C# - WinForms - Exception Handling for Events

  Hi all, I apologize if this is a simple question (my Google-Fu may be bad today). Imagine this WinForms application, that has this type of design: Main application - shows one dialog - that 1st dialog can show another dialog. Both of the dialogs have OK/Cancel buttons (data entry). I'm trying to figure out some type of global exception handling, along the lines of Application.ThreadException. What I mean is: Each of the dialogs will have a few event handlers. The 2nd dialog may have: private void ComboBox_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { AllSelectedIndexChangedCodeInThisFunction(); } catch(Exception ex) { btnOK.enabled = false; // Bad things, let's not let them save // log stuff, and other good things } } Really, all the event handlers in this dialog should be handled in this way. It's an exceptional-case, so I just want to log all the pertinent information, show a message, and disable the okay button for that dialog. But, I want to avoid a try/catch in each event handler (if I could). A draw-back of all these try/catch's is this: private void someFunction() { // If an exception occurs in SelectedIndexChanged, // it doesn't propagate to this function combobox.selectedIndex = 3; } I don't believe that Application.ThreadException is a solution, because I don't want the exception to fall all the way-back to the 1st dialog and then the main app. I don't want to close the app down, I just want to log it, display a message, and let them cancel out of the dialog. They can decide what to do from there (maybe go somewhere else in the app). Basically, a "global handler" in between the 1st dialog and the 2nd (and then, I suppose, another "global handler" in between the main app and the 1st dialog). Thanks.

  I want to do a search for Music instruments which has its informations Name, Category and Origin as I asked in my post. But now I want to sort/group the result by similarity/equality to the keyword such as. I don't have access to a physical PowerPC machine so I am trying to use Rosetta to confirm that the PowerPC portion of the app works correctly. • Disable caching in JPA (eclipselink)

  Hi, I want to use JPA (eclipselink) to get data from my database. The database is changed by a number of other sources and I therefore want to go back to the database for every find I execute. I have read a number of posts on disabling the cache but this does not seem to be working. Any ideas? I am trying to execute the following code: EntityManagerFactory entityManagerFactory = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("default"); EntityManager em = entityManagerFactory.createEntityManager(); MyLocation one = em.createNamedQuery("MyLocation.findMyLoc").getResultList().get(0); MyLocation two = em.createNamedQuery("MyLocation.findMyLoc").getResultList().get(0); System.out.println(one==two); one==two is true while I want it to be false.   Hi, I am using the JQuery Form extension to submit a form with AJAX. • DHTML with Javascript and CSS is not working

  So for some reason this unobtrusive javascript code is not working and I can't figure out for the life of me why it won't work. I dynamically change the className of a div element and therefore I expect the CSS to reflect that change. However it doesn't. However, the webpage doesn't reflect that by changing the background color to be red. (it doesn't work with changing text color either. I tried that.). I know the CSS is correctly loading. So what is the problem?

  Hello, I'm trying to understand how to build a JSON object in JavaScript. This JSON object will get passed to a JQuery ajax call. But, I need to dynamically build my JSON and pass it onto the JQuery call. However, I cannot figure out how to dynamically build the JSON object.   Dear All, I am having troubles with a nHibernate query. I have a db which stores vehicle info, and the user is able to search the db by make, model, type and production dates. Make, model & type search is fine, works a treat, it is the productions dates I am having issues with. So here goes... Is that possible (I do not see it in the documentation)?

• Regex to remove conditional comments

  I want a regex which can match conditional comments in a HTML source page so I can remove only those. I want to preserve the regular comments. I would also like to avoid using the .*? notation if possible. The text is foo <!--[if IE]> <style type="text/css"> ul.menu ul li{ font-size: 10px; font-weight:normal; padding-top:0px; } </style> <![endif]--> bar and I want to remove everything in <!--[if IE]> and <![endif]--> EDIT: It is because of BeautifulSoup I want to remove these tags. BeautifulSoup fails to parse and gives an incomplete source EDIT2: [if IE] isn't the only condition. There are lots more and I don't have any list of all possible combinations. EDIT3: Vinko Vrsalovic's solution works, but the actual problem why beautifulsoup failed was because of a rogue comment within the conditional comment. Like <!--[if lt IE 7.]> <script defer type="text/javascript" src="pngfix_253168.js"></script><!--png fix for IE--> <![endif]--> Notice the <!--png fix for IE--> comment? Though my problem was solve, I would love to get a regex solution for this.

Of particular interest is this: The System.Reflection.Emit namespace is not supported in Silverlight for Windows Phone. This is precisely why Unity is crashing on the phone, DynamicMethodConstructorStrategy class uses System.Reflection.Emit quite extensively... So the question is, what alternative to Unity is there for Windows Phone 7?

  Hi there. I'm recieving that wonderfuly ambiguous error message when using one of my webmethods on my WCF webservice. As that error message doesn't provide any explanation whatsoever allow me to post my theory. I believe it may have something to do with the return type I'm using I have a Types DLL which is refrenced in both the webservice and the client. In this DLL is the base class ExceptionMessages. There is a child of this class called DrawingExcepions.   I am having trouble getting dynamic content coming from a custom handler to be compressed by IIS 7. Our handler spits out json data (Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf-8) and responds to url that looks like: domain.com/example.mal/OperationName?Param1=Val1&Param2=Val2 In IIS 6, all we had to do was put the edit the MetaBase.xml and in the IIsCompressionScheme element make sure that the HcScriptFileExtensions attribute had the custom extension 'mal' included in it. Static and Dynamic compression is turned out at the server and website level. I can confirm that normal .aspx pages are compressed correctly. The only content I cannot have compressed is the content coming from the custom handler.
