  • Commercial uses for grid computing?

    I keep hearing from associates about grid computing which, from what I can gather, is highly distributed stuff along the lines of SETI@Home. Is anyone working on these sort of systems for business use? My interest is in figuring out if there's a commercial reason for starting software development in this field.

  • Problem in setting margin of an object on a grid

    Hi, I have inherited a class, say CstateUI from Control class. I am creating an object of CstateUI and setting up the margin of the object. For values of margin I take mouse click points from e.getPosition(grid). The problem is the first object is correctly rendered but on subsequent objects margin is not getting set accurately. Can you please tell me what possibly might be going wrong? Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to generate the following table: <table> <tr class="person"> <td>First 1</td> <td>Last 1</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr class="child"> <td>First 1</td> <td>Last 1</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr class="child"> <td>First 2</td> <td>Last 2</td> <td>2</td> </tr> ... ... </table> Each person is a row and each of their children would be individual rows under the person row. This would repeat for each person in IEnumerable<Person>. Are there any grids or components that generate a table like this? I found MvcContrib's grid component, but it doesn't appear to be able to generate these child rows. Is there a way to extend MvcContrib's grid to do this?

  • Running a lot of jobs with sun grid engine

    I want to run a very large number (~30000) of jobs with Sun Grid Engine. I can theoretically, perform 30000 times the "qsub" command to submit jobs. However, I am afraid that will be too much. Is there a better way to do it? (i.e. from a file) Or otherwise, do you think it will work nonetheless? Thank you

  • Jquery's a FREE grid display

    I have been using Flesigrid for my CMS and I like it except there are some things I think it could do better like get the column headers from the ajax results rather then in the setup of the flexigrid or having the ability to change the buttons on reload things of that nature. I've been considering a mod of the plugin though I'm not sure i really want to do that. But the question is ... is there something that might be better that I somehow missed when I was looking for grid display ?

    I'm trying to install pycrypto-2.1.0 but attempt to do with 'python setup.py build' elicits: running build running build_py running build_ext warning: GMP library not found; Not building Crypto.PublicKey._fastmath. I installed GMP (gmp-4.3.2) and it's in: /usr/local/lib How do I get python/pycrypto to recognize that GMP is already present on my system? Mac OS: 10.6.3 Python version: 2.6.1

  • progressIndicator does not update till about 10 seconds after awakeFromNib occures

    I have been trying to get this one section of my UI to immediatly up date when the document loads into view. The awakeFromNib fires the pasted code and then starts a timer to repeat every 10 seconds... I load a default storage location: ~/Movies... which shows up immediately.. yet the network location that is saved in the document that gets pulled from the XML only seems to show up after the second firing of the - (void)updateDiskSpaceDisplay timer. I have set breakpoints and know that the ivars that contain the values that are being put into the *fileSystemAttributes is the network location right when the awakeFromNib occurs... Im confused why it magically appears after the second time firing instead of immediately displaying the write values. - (void)updateDiskSpaceDisplay { // Obtain information about the file system used on the selected storage path.     I am having some trouble getting appscript installed on OS/X 10.6.3 / Python 2.6.1. When I issue sudo easy_install appscript I get "unable to execute gcc-4.2: No such file or directory". Even when I do export CC=/Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2 (a valid gcc-4.2 executable), easy_install barks. What could be the issue? Disclaimer: OS/X newbie at the helm...

    Hi I was wondering if there is any jquery function around which can take this dateTime "2010-10-18 10:06" and convert and split it returning "2010/10/18" and "10:06". It would be also nice if the same function could either receive "2010-10-18 10:06" or "2010-10-18" only and return as mentioned above, or different formats besides "2010/10/18" like 18-10-2010" or and 18th of October 2010, giving the option but not that important, just curious about jQuery power dealing with dates.   • TTCPServer limited to 10 connections?

    I've created a TCP server NT-Service in Delphi 6, I've tried Indy components, Ararat Synapse components, and am now trying just plain old TTcpServer to see which would perform best while using the least resources. I'm surprised to see that the live instance of the service (running on Windows Server) is still limited to 10 connections! Any new connections are forcibly disconnected. Have I missed something? Do I need to set a property or override a method of TCustomTcpServer?

    I am using M2Eclipse (0.10.0, Maven 3)in projects. I can add Maven dependency using m2eclipse. But dependency jars couldn't be downloaded. Instead, it created a file in each local repo folder named [JAR_Name].jar.lastupdate. The content of this file is some thing like : http\://[REPO_URL]/central/=1276221188566 Even using Maven 3 command line. Jars couldn't be downloaded. Any idea about how could this happen?
