  • Use CFBundleIconFiles or CFBundleIcons?

    According to apple, it's better to use CFBundleIcons in plist if iOS5 or greater. Now if I use CFBundleIcons then Xcode 5 seems doesn't recognize those items, but it looks like on device proper icon is selected. I've followed option in Apple's document and provided filename with extensions for all resolutions. The icons I'm using: If I use CFBundleIconFiles then Xcode 5 will not complain, but on device wrong icon is selected (iOS5 iPad2, system selected 80px iOS7 icon instead of 72px).

    Many are saying that Apple has restricted it for better performance. It should increase the size of RAM to support multitasking. So, they Apple is not allowing it. But some say that Cocoa Touch applications can't be multitasking as iPhone has only one window and views on it. But I could not understand what is the correct reason for this ? Please clarify me.

    I have a list of dictionaries: [{'title':'New York Times', 'title_url':'New_York_Times','id':4}, {'title':'USA Today','title_url':'USA_Today','id':6}, {'title':'Apple News','title_url':'Apple_News','id':2}] I'd like to sort it by the title, so elements with A go before Z: [{'title':'Apple News','title_url':'Apple_News','id':2}, {'title':'New York Times', 'title_url':'New_York_Times','id':4}, {'title':'USA Today','title_url':'USA_Today','id':6}] What's the best way to do this? Also, is there a way to ensure the order of each dictionary key stays constant, e.g., always title, title_url, then id? Thank you.

    Hi, I have a rewrite rule to get clean urls.. the only problem is, google shows some dynamic url and i dont want to serve dynamic urls.     I have a couple of lists of items: specials = ['apple', 'banana', 'cherry', ...] smoothies = ['banana-apple', 'mocha mango', ...] I want to make a new list, special_smoothies, consisting of elements in smoothies that start with the elements in specials. However, if specials is blank, special_smoothies should be identical to smoothies. What's the most Pythonic way to do this? Is there a way to do this without a separate conditional check on whether specials is blank?

    Hi there, Is there a way to change the name that displays on the AppStore, rather than the name associated with the credit card/apple ID associated with the developer programme? For example, if my name on my credit card was foo, and the name on the apple ID was foo, but I actually want the name displayed on the AppStore (i.e. next to my App's name and details) to be bar.     I am trying to create a program that asks the User to type three words and sort them in lexicographic order. EXAMPLE; Enter three words separated by spaces: Pear Orange Apple Apple Orange Pear The program is working fine (if I attempt the above example) except for one type of combination example that I will show below. EXAMPLE; Enter three words separated by spaces: Orange Apple Pear Apple Pear Pear The program is skipping the first word (Orange) if it is supposed to appear in the middle of the three words.     I am executing the following SQL statement on an indexed SQL Server 2008 R2 database. SELECT * FROM mydatabase WHERE (CONTAINS(ColumnA,'"The Apple is red"')) The problem is that it returns too many entries. It also returns entries where 'ColumnA' contains only one of the words ('Apple' or 'is' or 'red'...) and not only the entries which contains the exact phrase.     For my resume, I am attempting to add a shortened link to the app that I created. I looked around and found that apple provides a link shortener for iOS apps using the AppStore.com URL. Unfortunately, since my app contains the ² character, I cannot figure out how to link to my app. The long link for my app is: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/squared2/id498133871?mt=8 Also, is there a way to link to an app without having iTunes automatically open (only show the iTunes preview page)?

    I'm reading a comma-delimited list of strings from a config file. I need to check whether another string is in that list. For example: "apple,banana,cheese" If I check for "apple" I should find it, but if I check for "app" I should not. What's the most straight-forward and concise way to do this? It doesn't have to be fast. (I'll add my solution as an answer, but I'm hoping someone has something better.)
