  • Firefox extension file structure best practice

    Is it a good practice to put js files of the "content" folders in inner folders representing their logical module? For example have a "datalayer" and "view" folders? I looked into some well known extensions, such as Firebug, and saw no such devision. I'm a Java developer so its seems much more natural to divide the files logically.

  • JBOSS 7 encoding not working as expected

    I had problems with my listgrids not showing diacritcs corectly and I found out that when I inserted from java into the db the values where already bugged. A post here helped and I changed my project properties - Text encoding - other - UTF-8 and this fixed my problem. Thing is this only fixes my problem locally. What I need to do is on my Jboss server also set the encoding somehow.     hello, I am developing a PC application that interacts with the Wii Remote. So far I have been using the wiiuse library, which has worked great. However wiiuse does not support the MotionPlus extension. I have heard of extensions to implement this by Dolphin and libogc but have not managed to locate this code. Do you know of code that implements support for MotionPlus with wiiuse, or another C based libary?

  • How do you get Lighttpd to compress CodeIgniter's "clean urls"?

    I was looking at PageSpeed on my test website and noticed that Lighttpd wasn't compressing my HTML (but was compressing my javascript and css files). I'm assuming this is because I'm using CodeIgniter and it's clean url system and since the requests don't have file extensions, Lighttpd doesn't have the rule to compress it. That being the case, how do I get Lighttpd to compress my HTML? Is this something I shouldn't be doing? Or something I need to specially configure Lighttpd for?

    I have been following the Google Chrome Extensions Developer's guide and have been able so far to create an extension with a browser action without popup that would trigger a webkit notification in HTML format. Fact is that this HTML file contains action buttons, links and javascript, but none of them seems to respond. Is this a by-design behavior or is there a way for embedding javascript/links/buttons in these webkit notifications?

    Visual studio 2010 Premium installed on Widnows 7: when try to connect for online gallery or online template, give me error like: Cannot search for online exensions because an error occured while trying to contact the server and ask me enable access to extensions on the vistual studio gallery .... It did enabled in Extension Manager Tools/Options page. Internet connection was fine. Can't know why. On another computer: Windows 7, VS2010 utilmate trail version: this was fine.

Depending on the country extension of the domain, I want to route to a specific subfolder while keeping the active domain!     Does anyone konw whether I can load .net 4.0 assemblies from SQL Server 2008? In particular, we are looking at SQL Reporting, with Custom Data Extensions. I have noticed that hte SQL Server 2008 Business Intelligence Studio does not seem to support VS2010 at the moment. If I release my CDE's as .net 4.0 assemblies, will I even be able to load them from within the SQL Server Reporting Server?

  • How do I create a Spring 3 + Tiles 2 webapp using REST-ful URLs?

    I'm having a heck of a time resolving URLs with Spring 3.0 MVC. I'm just building a HelloWorld to try out how to build a RESTful webapp in Spring, nothing theoretically complicated. All of the examples I've been able to find are based on configurations that pay attention to file extensions ("*.htm" or "*.do"), include an artificial directory name prefix ("/foo") or even prefix paths with a dot (ugly), all approaches that use some artificial regex pattern as a signal to the resolver. For a REST approach I want to avoid all that muck and use only the natural URL patterns of my application. I would assume (perhaps incorrectly) that in web.xml I'd set a url-pattern of "/*" and pass everything to the DispatcherServlet for resolution, then just rely on URL patterns in my controller. I can't reliably get my resolver(s) to catch the URL patterns, and in all my trials this results in a resource not found error, a stack overflow (loop), or some kind of opaque Spring 3 ServletException stack trace — one of my ongoing frustrations with Spring generally is that the error messages are not often very helpful. I want to work with a Tiles 2 resolver. I've located my *.jsp files in WEB-INF/views/ and have a single line index.jsp file at the application root redirecting to the index file set by my layout.xml (the Tiles 2 Configurer). I do all the normal Spring 3 high-level configuration: <mvc:annotation-driven /> <mvc:view-controller path="/" view-name="index"/> <context:component-scan base-package="com.acme.web.controller" /> ...followed by all sorts of combinations and configurations of UrlBasedViewResolver, InternalResourceViewResolver, UrlFilenameViewController, etc. with all manner of variantions in my Tiles 2 configuration file. Then in my controller I've trying to pick up my URL patterns. Problem is, I can't reliably even get the resolver(s) to catch the patterns to send to my controller. This has now stretched to multiple days with no real progress on something I thought would be very simple to implement. I'm perhaps trying to do too much at once, though I would think this should be a simple (almost a default) configuration. I'm just trying to create a simple HelloWorld-type application, I wouldn't expect this is rocket science. Rather than me post my own configurations (which have ranged all over the map), does anyone know of an online example that: shows a simple Spring 3 MVC + Tiles 2 web application that uses REST-ful URLs (i.e., avoiding forced URL patterns such as file extensions, added directory names or dots) and relies solely on Spring 3 code/annotations (i.e., nothing outside of Spring MVC itself) to accomplish this? Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks very much for any help.
