• Wife's Email going into Junk Mail folder in Outlook despite turning off Junk Mail

  I recently started a new job. Today I tried emailing my wife from my new company email account. When she responded, her email went into the "Junk E-mail" folder. So I tried a few things: Added her to the "Safe Senders" list Added her as an Outlook contact and checked the "Also trust email from my Contacts" box in the "Safe Senders" tab Added her domain to the "Safe Senders" list Switched from "Low" to "No Automatic Filtering" in the Junk Email options No matter what I would do, her emails would still go into the Junk Email folder. Can anyone recommend additional things to try? EDIT: This is using Exchange.

• Changing Windows public folder in batch script.

  I've installed Steam on an external hard drive so I can play games on different computers by just moving the drive around. Since save games are often saved in My Documents or AppData, but I want them to move with the external hard drive, I wrote a batch file that sets environment variables before starting steam. setocal set USERPROFILE=%EXTERNAL_LETTER%\Profile\Me set APPDATA=%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming ... start %TARGETAPP% endlocal I'm not sure if this is the right way to do this on Windows, but it seems to work. However, one game saves its games in the Shared Documents folder. I've tried setting %PUBLIC% and %ALLUSERSPROFILE% but that does not seem to affect where the game looks. Is it possible to make this one program use a different Shared Documents folder, either by environment variables or some other means? The change in Shared Documents should only affect the one program, I do not want it to be a permanent or system wide change to Windows.

  I was recently installing Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 to create my build server on a VM (Windows 2003 R2 Std), I was wondering that it would be nice to specify the temporary folder for the files being extracted by MSI for use during the installation. This should ideally work for any MSIs. I have some more virtual hard disks I have attached to this VMs, to point the temporary folder for MSI to one of these virtual hard disks would be quite productive since I can remove/discard this virtual hard disk later. Compacting the C drive VHD is a pain, and does not always reclaim space correctly. I tried changing the %temp% and tmp environment variable with no effect? • Revision / backup software for folder?

  I'm looking for a simple backup/revision software that will monitor a folder for new changes and make a backup of newly modified files? I have a folder with some text files, a few Word/Excel files and I'd like to keep backup files of them when they're modified. (It's no more than 50 mb). I'd like what Dropbox does but just locally (not to be stored on the cloud). Thank you. Edit: I'm on Windows XP. And I'm looking for a freeware app, if possible.

• IIS 6.0 FTP Folder Permissions

  I have a IIS Ftp website setup like so \ftp\users\domain\public\public Software that runs on clients computers logs into the FTP by specifying domain\public and moving to public, it then uploads or downloads files / folders into that area. I wan't to restrict the permissions on \ftp\users\domain\public so that nothing / noone can write files or folders here, only to \ftp\users\domain\public\public. I setup the NTFS permissions of the folder to remove domain\users, public and server\users to not have modify right, yet I can still upload / modify files. I have disabled inheritance from the parent folder of \ftp\users\domain\public as well. Any ideas on what I'm missing here? P.S I know this is a stupid setup and makes no sense, it's some bizarre legacy application that I need to migrate to a safer environment until it can be replaced, then I'm going to light it on fire -.- and dance around it.

• Create a playlist in iTunes based on a hard drive folder

  I'd like to be able to base playlists in iTunes on a folder on my hard drive. For example, say I have this directory structure: C:\MP3s\Doctor Who Music C:\MP3s\Star Wars Music Importing all those MP3s into iTunes is really simple - at the bare bones version you can just drag the MP3 folder into the iTunes window and it does the rest. But, having done that, what I'd like to be able to do is point iTunes at each of those directories and have it turn them into their own playlists, so I end up with a Doctor Who Music and a Star Wars Music playlist based on the MP3s locations on the hard drive. Does iTunes have a way to do this, or is there a way to trick it into this with some other program? (I'm on Windows, but I'm sure Mac users would also appreciate answers to this as well.)

  I'm looking so migrate some websites to a new server. I have SSH access to the current one but only FTP access to the new one. How can I via Centos and SSH copy entire folders to the new server via FTP? I can log into the new server via the built in FTP client on Centos but I'm not sure of the commands after this. I need to move the httpdocs folder from the old to the public_html folder of the new server. I'd love to do this server to server as it'll be a lot quicker than download - upload via my broadband connection. Yours, Chris

  I drop lots of photos in a day into the My Documents/My Pictures folder. I archive at the end of each day to USB drives, to be stored offsite. What I would like is someway to automate the process. By example, a small app or script I can simply double-click and it will scan the My Pictures folder for the newest folders and images and copy them to the USB drive until the drive is full. It doesn't matter if I get redundancy from the previous days saved images, so long as the newest images and folders are always the first to get copied. Well, that's my request. Thanks for reading.

• Minidump folder cannot be found

  Although I have enabled the creation of minidump files in my system, it appears that either Windows doesn't create them where the Startup and recovery dialog points to (%SystemRoot%\Minidump) or at least I can't find them. Even the Minidump folder under Windows directory is missing and I had numerous BSODs till now. I've searched all my HDs for mini*.dmp files only to find some old ones in a backup folder from my Vista 32-bit installation, before I install Windows 7 64-bit. Any thoughts of why this is happening and how to fix it?

  I was having trouble installing irssi (brew install irssi), so I ran brew doctor, which returned a warning mentioning an outdated copy of Xcode and saying I should run /Developer/Library/uninstall-developer-folder. Then I ran brew doctor again and got: Error: No such file or directory - /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk How do I reinstall the SDK, or is there another way to get Homebrew working again? UPDATE: /Developer actually still exists (despite the obvious implication of uninstall-developer-folder), as does /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.7.sdk. Why does Homebrew specifically need Snow Leopard's SDK?

  I read a lot of server error 500 questions related to the famous .htaccess file but I have still not found an answer to this error. I have a folder which I used to test the .htaccess file. =>http://localhost/xampp/example/ I copied the .htaccess in the example folder and I get server error 500 my .htaccess file contains this: <IfModule mod_expires.c> ExpiresActive on ExpiresByType image/png "access plus 1 days" </IfModule> I have changed my httpd.conf file: all AllowOverrride None to AllowOverride All i have also uncommented this line: LoadModule expires_module modules/mod_expires.so error.log says: ExpiresActive not allowed here I still get the error 500 What is actually happening? • My Music Folder Appearing On Desktop

  Hello, I use Windows 7 and have recently been encountering a problem with the My Music folder. I keep all my music on an external hard drive and use a third party program such as VLC to play albums. I also have a large list of single MP3s that I play in WinAmp. Neither of these cause any problem but whenever I play a song in the bundled Windows Media Player a new My Music shortcut appears on the desktop. WMP is my default player, I've tried changing it to other players but whenever I use WMP it still creates this shortcut. The My Music folder is empty as all music is stored on the external hard drive and I've set WMP to collate, store and retain no information about anything, so I don't think it's anything to do with playlist history or anything. Any ideas what might be happening? Any help in solving this annoyance is appreciated.

  We have a small remote office that often share data with us. I learned that the data is shared as a email attachment, but that obviously leads to versioning hell and overriding. I am looking for a way for then to synchronize a folder directly on our main office domain controller. I personally use LiveMesh, but I would like a tool that is synchronized to our server directly without a 3rd party hosting the data, since we already have an online backup service taking care of the offsite backup. What enterprise class tool would let us synchronize a folder from a remote computer that is out of our domain, into our the file server of our domain? The synchronization has to be two-way, e.g.: Someone from the remote office will create an invoice. Someone from our office will review it and make modification to it. The remote office need to see the change. Our server is on Windows 2003.

What I did: On the Windows 7 machine which I install the DHCP Server with the range 192.168.1.12-192.168.1.256. I'd prefer to do it without having to install any 3rd party software, but I'll be ok if it's a very small and simple utility. I want this to force me to keep my files organized. I am setting my browser to download to a standard folder, and then with this script to automatically delete files older than a week, I will be forced to move & organize downloaded files I want to keep.

• Temp files created in every folder in Windows Server 2003

  So we have some folders which are shared over the AD Domain (Windows Server 2003). It was just noticed that in 2 of those folders (which contain only Excel and Word files), whenever a file is opened and closed, the temp file which was opened corresponding to that file still remains. Apparently, this's been going on for the past couple of years (which has led to an insane amount of temp files in each folder/subfolder under those shared folders). These shared folders are under the D:drive and not C: drive. There is only one group (containing 2 users) who access the said folders. I cannot understand if this has to do with the settings/permissions for the User/Group/Individual Client machine. For now, I have manually deleted all the temp files from each folder/subfolder. While this is not critical at the moment, I'd still like to clear this up. Also, it takes an additional fraction of a second to open folders that contains more than 10,000 temp files. • Can I mark a folder as mountpoint-only?

  I have a folder ~/nas which I usually use sshfs to mount a network drive on. Today, I didn't realize the share hadn't been mounted yet, and copied some data into it. It took me a bit to realize that I'd just copied data into my own local drive rather than the network share. Is there some way to mark in the system that this folder is supposed to be a mount point, and to not let anyone copy data into it? I tried the permissions solution here: How to only allow a program to write to a directory if it is mounted?, but if I don't have write access I also can't mount anything to it.

• qemu/virt-manager no permisson on shared folder

  I have a strange problem. Iam trying to create a shared folder via the add-hardware-filesystem option. For Type and Modus i choose Passtrought and for Driver Path. The Source Path is /free and target is mytag. I mount it with: mount -t 9p -o trans=virtio mytag /mnt/test -oversion=9p2000.L Everything worked without problems. But when i enter /mnt/test and do a ls, i get "ls: Öffnen von Verzeichnis . nicht möglich: Keine Berechtigung" in english something like "ls: cant open folder . no permission" I set permissions of /free to 777 recursivly but nothing changed. Also tried some other modes in virt-manager but nothing changes. Do you have any clues, what i am doing wrong? The guest-os ist Ubuntu 12.04 and the host-os is Ubuntu 11.10 Thank you for your help.

• Importing .eml files into Exchange Discovery Folder

  I am needing to import over 18mm eml files into Exchange (this is for a client, so I'm restricted on what I can do - flexibility). They do not want these emails to go to the actual users email, so they do not want them to show up in the users inbox, deleted ..etc. They want to be able to search for these emails for litigation purposes ... hence the discovery folder. I have looked into the Pickup folder, which does not do what I want. I have also been writing some C# code to use the EWS (Exchange Web Service) Managed API, but so far I have not found anything to work for me. The Exchange server is 2010 SP1. I have looked through other questions/answers and they do not really match up with what I'm needing to accomplish. These are older emails that have already been removed from the users mailbox. So to turn around and put these emails into the Users inbox would (of course) be very bad.

• Bulk Deleting All Messages in a Folder in Microsoft Outlook Web Access

  How do you delete all messages in a folder in Outlook, preferrably through Web Access? I left my Outlook account unattended for several days (on vacation) and when I got back I found several folders with over 5k emails, mostly error logging or spam. When I try to open the Outlook client, it just locks up, presumably unable to download that many emails. I can view at most 100 emails at a time, but I can't select all emails to delete or permanently delete them immediately, so manually deleting this many emails is going to take a while. Gmail has a similar feature to select and delete all emails in a folder, and that's free so I figure being a quality non-free product from Microsoft, Outlook should have a similar feature (yes that's sarcasm). I've Googled, but I'm not finding anything. Is this possible?
