  • Android how to display and image from URL

    Hi all! I'm having trouble displaying SOME images on my android app. Just normal display image from certain URL. Some images works, some just doesn't work. For instance try displaying this image from URL: http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/7379/tronlegacys7i7wsjf.jpg It doesn't work. Doesn't even work in emulator. Could it be the EXIF info for the image is problematic? Can anyone try to see they are able to display that image on android app, and share the code/method to display that image on screen?   • Visual Studio 2008 having problems with namespaces when used as type in Generic coolection

    I just upgraded last week from Visual Studio 2005 to 2008. I am having an issue with compiler resolving namespaces when I use a class as a type in a Generic collection. Intellisense recognizes the class and the compiler generates no errors when I use the class except when it is a type in a Generic collection declaration either as return type for a Property or as a parameter to a method. This is happening in my only project that is targeting the 3.5 framework, but changing the project containing the class to use the 3.5 framework doesn't fix the problem. Examples Compile fine MyClass myClass = new MyClass(); SortedList <DateTime,MyClass> listOfClasses = new SortedList<DateTime,MyClass> Compile error - Namespace could not be found public SortedList<DateTime,MyClass> ClassList { get; set; } private void DoSomethingToLists(SortedList<DateTime,MyClass> classList) Intellisense has no problem resolving the namespace, only the compiler. Is this a known bug or am I missing something obvious? Will SP1 fix it? I was able to create a new library containing just this class targeting 3.5 and am now able to successfully use this in both 3.5 and 2.0 projects. My guess is that even though I tried to change the target of my original library, since it was still referencing 2.0 projects there was some conflict.

  • Get info from multiple files, match it and then display to end user, what is fastest?

    Hi, I need to build a website where we display data that is refreshed every 5minutes in a text file with a | separator. I currently use Java to do this. What I do now: I grab the textfile for every request through the website and process it and then display the data to the end user, this works fine, since Java can go through like 5000 lines of data fast, and when I filter it it is still extremely fast. However now the management wants the following: They added 3 textfiles with the | separator to it, and now want me to also read those files and match the information on certain fields, and if there is a match also display that information to the end user. I think soon enough, although Java is fast, I will run into trouble when 10 people want that information and I have to run through 4 total files matching the information. What can I do to make this process super fast? My Creative solutions so far: -Leave it this way, since Java is fast and end users can wait (probably less then 1second) -Have a background process that dumps new data into a MySQL database every 5minutes, since databases are extremely good at getting the same data from multiple tables. I have a fields with the same name in both tables: events.venue (which is an ID) and venues.venue is the name of the place, say "blues bar". The tables can be joined on events.venue = venues.id. I can probably do something like "SELECT venues.venue as name_of_the_venue", but how can I do this when I've already selected *?

However I just realize it is quite tricky, because I want the user select for example tag1, tag2 and tag3, with the mouse. Instead now they disappear when the mouse rolls out from the puppet image.     I'm writing some backend script for a twitter app and heres how it's going On the app you click a button that sends you to login.php on my server which logs into my database connects to twitter with my consumer key and secret: $to = new TwitterOAuth($consumer_key, $consumer_secret); $tok = $to->getRequestToken(); $request_link = $to->getAuthorizeURL($tok); and then writes the token and secret to the database, sets a session equal to the id in the database of the token and secret and then redirects to the "$request_link" You then go through the process of logging in and such on twitter and it redirects you to callback.php on my server Callback.php consists of logging into the database again, getting the new token and secret, and then writing the new token and secret to the database and then prompts you to go back to the app Then on the app, all I'm trying to do is access the basic credentials$to->get('account/verify_credentials') and it keeps coming back "could not authenticate you" What am I doing wrong??     hi, I've 2 sets of thumbnails and in each set I'm displaying them one nearby each other in 4 columns using float:left. I would like to "merge" the 2 sets (but I cannot change the html code) because I want the thumbnails of the second set floating right after the last thumbnail of the first set. In other terms, if in the last row there are only 2 thumbnails and the last 2 columns are empty, the thumbnails of the second set should fill the empty columns of the last row of the first set.     hi, I've a parent (Canvas) with many children (LinkButtons) The linkButtons trigger an event to communicate between them: dispatchEvent(new SameBookmarkEvent("SameBookmarkEvent", bookmark.name)); and all linkButtons have a listener this.addEventListener("SameBookmarkEvent", highlightMe); ... private function highlightMe(e:SameBookmarkEvent):void { //do something } Now, the issue is that the event is only listened by the dispatcher child. In other words, only the child triggering the event, is receiving it. I was wondering what's wrong with it, and if I should add a listener to the parent (Canvas)... I basically need the children (LinkButton) communicate between them

  • Drupal: what's the easiest way to let my customer to upload video thumbnails and associate them to v

    hi, my customer wants a gallery of videos and images (small thumbnails) and if you click on one of them you can see the picture / video in the overlaying lightbox). Now, I cannot install auto-generating video thumbnails because I don't have access to ffmpeg module on the server. I can only allow my customer to upload these thumbnails by himself. I'm using image and video CCK fields for each node to allow my customer images and videos. However I dunno how should I let him upload thumbnails for his videos. Should I create an additional Image CCK field for this ? Consequently, I should somehow associate the videos with the images in the design and my customer should pay attention to place them in the same order.. this is not very nice solution, but it is the only one that came to my mind so far. Furthermore, I'm using the lightbox I should somehow ignore the video thumbnails and display the videos instead... some tips ? Thanks

  • Crash when checking BOF property of pessimistic locked ADO recordset

    Bit of an odd one for you: I've got two connections to a database, on one I've opened a _RecordsetPtr with a pessimistic lock. I can no longer send an UPDATE command on the other connection. I can send a SELECT command on the second connection and data is returned. If I use a read only lock then there are no problems however when I use a pessimistic lock on the second connection as well I can check the State == adStateOpen but the program hangs when I test the BOF property! If I don't test the BOF property and try to call moveNext on the second connection the software hangs If I do neither of these I am able to access the data via the second connection but trying to access the data from the first connection causes the software to hang. Any one seen anything similar as I'm a bit stuck? EDIT : it wasn't hanging, someone had put a 30 minute timeout on the connection and I wasn't waiting that long while testing...
