• I want to retrieve some information based on Caller ID

  Hello, my friend has a Real Estate company that receives a lot of phone calls everyday. He wants to have a solution such that when somebody call to his company, the operator sees all the information about the person who is calling based on the database he have right now and the caller ID. Is there a ready made software or solution that can do the job?? Since I'm a software engineer myself, I would never mind developing something from scratch or built on a ready made system (with a team of course), but I need some direction on how to start?? Notes: 1- cost is not an issue 2- the customers database is there but we never mind replacing it in a format to suit the new solution Best Regards,

• Using WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application doesn't show me any information

  I am trying to use WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application (I have the latest WPFPerf that should work on WPF 4.0 aps). I start the tool Visual Profiler from WPFPerf, I start my aplication, but after that nothing happens and the element tree from the Visual Profiler is empty. No other error message is shown. Can anyone tell me what am I not doint right? As an additional information, when I try to analize my .exe assembly or any other assembly from my application, I get a BadFormatException saying that the assembly was build with a newer version of .NET. From the download page http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=191420 I see that this version of WPFPerf should be ok for my app

  I using the FileWatcher Class to locate changes on Files in a specific Folder. I managed to detect Changes on Files but not detailed Information. On the WatcherChangeTypes Enumeration Page http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/t6xf43e0%28v=VS.100%29.aspx they write the Change Type detects the changes include: changes to size, attributes, security settings, last write, and last access time. Is there a way to detect which kind of change happened? • Any recommended VC++ settings for better PDB analysis on release builds

  Are there any VC++ settings I should know about to generate better PDB files that contain more information? I have a crash dump analysis system in place based on the project crashrpt. Also, my production build server has the source code installed on the D:\, but my development machine has the source code on the C:\. I entered the source path in the VC++ settings, but when looking through the call stack of a crash, it doesn't automatically jump to my source code. I believe if I had my dev machine's source code on the D:\ it would work.

Here is my object: object(parserXMLElement)#45 (4) { ["name:private"]=> string(7) "balance" ["data:private"]=> object(SimpleXMLElement)#46 (1) { [0]=> string(12) "11426.46" } ["children:private"]=> NULL ["rows:private"]=> NULL } I need to have this string "11426.46" stored in some var as integer. Coming from Rails, the only thing I've really been missing here is the dev-mode debug information shown after the page has been served. • WebSocket send extra information on connection

  Is there a way for a WebSocket client to send additional information on the initial connection to the WebSocket server? I'm asking because I want the client to send the user ID (string) to the server immediately. I don't want the client to send the user ID in the onopen callback. Why? Because it's faster and simpler. If the WebSocket API won't let you do this, why not? If there's no good reason, how could I suggest they add this simple feature?

For example, choosing a country would bring up a list of provinces for that country, which would in turn list the cities. How would you store that sort of information in a database? Would you have a table Countries(id, name), Provinces(id, country_id, name), Cities(id, province_id, name) or would you have just one big denormalized table Entries(country, province, city)? (Why?)

I do not understand how to READ the socket and get all the info summed up into a string. the socket might contains more than 1 line [trying to make a chat].   How can I obtain kerning information for GDI to then use in GetKerningPairs? The documentation states that The number of pairs in the lpkrnpair array. If the font has more than nNumPairs kerning pairs, the function returns an error. However, I do not know how many pairs to pass in, and I don't see a way to query for it. • Storing information in the DOM?

  Im making a small private message application in the form of a phone. Ten messages are shown at the time. And the list of messages are scrolled up/down by hiding them. Just how bad is it to use the DOM to store information in this way. My main goal for doing this is to reduce calls to the database. And instead of making a new call all the time, it only checks if any new messages has arrived and ads the new message(s). Whats the alternative, cookies anyone? Thank you for the time

  In window, i can get the date created of the video from properties(right click). I have a few idea on this but i dont know how to do it. 1. Get the video information directly from video(like in windows), 2. By extracting the video name to get the date created(The video's name is in date format, which is the time it created). And i also using taglib-sharp to get the video duration and resolution, but i cant find any sample code on how to get the video creation date. Things like useful compiler arguments, IDE short-cuts, clever code snippets, etc. I sometimes find myself frustrated when looking up something that I used to know a year or two ago. My IE favourites probably represent a good chunk of the Internet in the late 1990s, so clearly that isn't effective (at least for me). Or am I just getting old? So.. what do you do?

I could get the list all installed app in my deice through PackageManager Class. Also i am able to notified whenever any operations takes place in my device through intents filters like 'ACTION_PACKAGE_ADDED' through BroadCastRecievers. But i am unable get the app information (like name and others stuff) whenever any app installed and updates.   Hello, I'm using Visual Studio 2008 (programming in c). I've a weird problem I worte a program that has 2 threads that runs simultaneously, a recording thread (using audio card to record into memory) and a translation thread (using a speech engine to recognize the words). when I run my program in debug mode (aka setting a breakpoint in the code) it runs great, however when I run in debug mode or release mode (outside the visual studio enviroment) it crashes and give me the following exception: "Unhandled exception at 0x7c911129 in LowLevel.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x014c7245." • Any Red5 Working Example Project for 0.9 release

  I'm trying to find 1, just 1, working sample project for Red5 that's updated to work against the latest 0.9 release without missing jars and other nonsense. Right now, it's at v0.9 and the libs are different from other versions. They have 5 pathetic examples on their website, but all were built with the older versions, and who knows which version since they don't seem to be putting any effort into updating or marketing their open source project. For these 5 old examples, I could use the Add External JARS feature to try and add libs from previous versions, they don't mention which versions they were built against and I'm not going to try each previous version to see which works (I already did and nothing works). P.S. Voted the worst documented project on the planet. It's hilarious, one of their developers posted a few videos on youtube, without bothering to attach a sample zip for the get-started project he's demoing. No offense, but that's seriously #(#$$#($!@#*. Not a good start for any tech decision maker to assess a technology for commercial use. Anyone who's more intelligent and can shed some light on behalf of these fools?

• What should be the "trunk" development, or release

  I have the unfortunate opportunity of source control via Borland's StarTeam. It unfortunately does very few things well, and one supreme weakness is its view management. I love SVN and come from an SVN mindset. Our issue is post production release we are spending countless hours merging changes into a "production support" environment. Please do not harass me this was not my doing, I inherited it and am trying to present a better way of managing the repository. It is not an option to switch to a different SCM tool. Current setup Product.1.0 (TRUNK, current production code, and at this level are pending bug fixes) Product.2.0(true trunk anything checked in gets tested, and then released next production cycle, a lot of changes occur in this view) My proposal is going to be to swap them, have all development be done on the trunk (Production), tag on releases, and as needed create child views to represent production support bug fixes. Production Production.2.0.SP.1 I can not find any documentation to support the above proposal so I am trying to get feedback on whether or not the change is a good idea and if there is anything you would recommend doing differently.
