  • mod_jk fails to detect error state because JBoss gives 404, not 500

    Configuration: Apache + mod_jk, several workers on other machines (load balancing). When JBoss fails to deploy an application for example because of failed connection to the database, requests to /myapp/somepage generate 404. How do I configure JBoss to return 500 for everything under /myapp when the application failed to deploy? Additional info: Since 404 is not an "error state" code, mod_jk does not mark the worker as failed and continues to route the traffic there. Since there might be valid requests to this application also generating 404, I can not configure mod_jk to treat 404 as an "error state"

Ability to store plain text (notes, for example). Should work on Windows, Linux and Mac. So far I have been happy with RoboForm, but its offline USB version is not available on Linux.   • Unable to connect to sites using IIS7 Manager

    I'm a developer who has been assigned the task of managing and configuring a new IIS7 instance on a remote server. My domain account has been added as to the local Administrators group on the box, but IIS7 has been configured to accept connections only from accounts with Windows credentials. I've added my domain account to the IIS Manager Permissions for one of my sites, but I'm still unable to connect to either that site, the IIS instance or the server in general from my local machine. There's obviously a missing element to the configuration of this setup but I don't know where to start looking. The event logs on the IIS box show audit failures for my account when trying to connect remote via the IIS7 Manager tool on my local machine. Suggestions gratefully received.

    I've written a script which updates an environment variable, but I need to tell Program Manager to update the computer's programs with this new information. I was given this as the API call that is made within another program to cause this: ::SendMessage(::FindWindow("Progman", NULL), WM_WININICHANGE, 0L, (LPARAM)"Environment"); I am attempting to translate this into an AutoHotKey PostMessage call, but I'm doing something wrong, as it isn't working.     Howdy all, I have a Joomla 1.5 installation running on Windows Server 2008, installed via the Web Platform Installer. When uploading images with the media manager (native uploader, not the flash bulk uploader), the files arrive on the server correctly, but are given incorrect permissions. Specifically, the IIS_IUSRS group is not given access to the file. I might be incorrect about what group/user is SUPPOSED to get access to the files, but so far, I've found that unless I give IIS_IUSRS access to the uploaded files, they won't appear on the site or in the media manager (appear as broken images). Once I give IIS_IUSRS permission to the files, they work fine. So far, all the research I've done has led me to linux specific fixes that involve either changing the umask on the server, or directly modifying the Joomla codebase to add an appropriate chmod command to the upload process, but I really don't want to modify Joomla directly. I have to believe there's a setting here somewhere that will do the job, either on the Joomla or Windows side of the equation. Any thoughts? Scott

  • How to switch off Outlook Synchronization Manager

    I have one strange thing which is happening to my outlook. It tries to synchronize something (seems it do this every time send/recieve triggers). Does anybody know how to switch this manager off?   • Generate a certificate with Openssl and import the same certificate using keytool

    I have a question about the SSL during the use of CAS in LIferay. I have generate the certificate using Openssl (I flollowed this tutorial) on my CAS Server and now I would to import the certificate using keytool on the Liferay machine. To import the certificate with keytool I use this command: keytool -import -alias tomcatLiferay -file /myopensslcertificate.crt But when I import the .crt certificate file and I check the CAS connection I get the message: SSL Error. IF I try to generate the certificate using keytool (keytool -genkey...) on the CAS server end I import this certificate using keytool -import .... I can connect to the CAS server and I not see any errors... I think that I use a wrong way to generate the certificate with openssl or a wrong way to import the certificate (generated with openssl) with keytool.

  • A decent S3 bucket manager for Ubuntu

    I'm looking for a decent S3 bucket manager for Ubuntu (Gnome). I prefer it to integrate with Nautilus so it will look like just any other drive (a la WebDAV) but so far I haven't been able to find anything that I'd like to use on a daily basis. What bucket managers do you use for Ubuntu or what bucket manager would you recommend? UPDATE: S3FS seems to be what I'd really want to use since it lets me integrate my buckets directly into my file-system. However, when trying S3FS I do not get the impression that it's ready for prime time. I'm stunned by the fact that there are no decent bucket managers out there for Ubuntu/Gnome, guess I have to build it myself...

  • Job queue manager with RPC interface

    I need a job queue manager that I can control over the Internet. It should be able to execute and stop processes, check on their status (ideally notice and execute some code when a process exits), respond to commands and also be able to report back to a server. Background: I have a GWT application that allows to create jobs to execute on a cloud instance (currently EC2). I want to push a "job packet" (data for a process to operate on etc) to S3, start a Linux EC2 instance (or use one that's already running), and tell a job manager on the instance to execute that job (possibly parallel to other jobs). It should then pull the "job packet" from S3, run a process that operates on that data and report back to the server that is running the server part of my GWT application with some information (e.g. exit code, stdout, stderr). If I have to write e.g. stdour/err to a file from the process and read that file, that's OK too. I would really like the manager to be "close" to the processes it runs, meaning I want to avoid using something like Runtime.exec from the JDK. It seems like I would have to do that if I used Quartz for example. I'm fine with the calls in both directions being asynchronous. I'm fine with any reasonable technology for the calls as long as I can easily build an interface for that in my GWT server side (e.g. HTTP requests to a servlet over SSL would be nice and trivial). The job manager does not need to have a very sophisticated queueing system. Running several processes either sequentially or in parallel should be fine. Determining how much compute time a process received during its lifetime would be nice (AFAIK, this might be challenging). I did not yet find any existing software that does this, including http://java-source.net/open-source/job-schedulers. I suspect I might have to build an RPC interface (with authentication etc, of course) around a job manager; maybe use something like Apache Commons Exec. In that case, I would prefer Java or Python for the job manager part. I would be happy to hear suggestions for either the former or latter scenario!

    I'm trying to serve my application's content on JBoss through Apache. Load balancing is not necessary yet. I've been trying to follow this guide on JBoss' wiki but it seems more complicated than what I'm looking to do, since I'm not trying to get loadbalance to work. I also found this other example, but I haven't been able to make this work. Several trial and error hasn't helped getting too far. Can you recommend any good conceptual tutorials for doing this? These tutorials I've found kind of explain what to do, but don't go too deep into what you are doing. Not only do I want to get this to work, but also learn what I'm doing.

    I am obviously stupid... because I'm logged into this Windows 2003 Server box as administrator, yet when I go under Administrative Tools, I can't find "Terminal Services Manager". Terminal Services are installed... I'm using them right now... and I know that's where the manager is supposed to be... yet it is not what am I missing? why isn't it showing? where else can I find it?

  • How to prevent mod_cluster as single point failure?

    In my configuration i used Apche+mod_cluster as a front_end(load balancer) server and two JBOSS AS 7.1.0 as backend server. In my configuration on one system i have install Apache+mod_cluster + JBOSS AS 7.1.0 and on other system JBOSS AS 7.1.0. Both JBOSS AS 7.1.0 are in domain mode means in clustering. My problem is that if Apche+mod_cluster crash than client can not access any JBOSS AS . I want to configure Apache+mod_cluster in Master_Slave format, means if one of Apache+mod_cluter down another Apache+mod_cluster become active and pass client(browser) request to back-end server in normal form without any interruption. Is there any way to make two Apache+mod_cluster to communicate with each other , means to check health status of each other and if any one get down other Apche+mod_cluster will do it's task ......

  • verisign certificate into jboss server SSL

  • how to view internal jaxws logs in tomcat

    I have a web service that is deployed in tomcat, and it is rejecting a soap request over https. However, I can't see any logs as to why it is doing so. I have the following set in my service endpoint implementation file: System.setProperty("javax.net.debug", "all"); System.setProperty("java.security.debug", "all"); And I pass the following parameters to tomcat: -Dcom.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.HttpAdapter.dump=true -Dcom.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.client.HttpTransportPipe.dump=true Is there anything else I need to do to see the internal jaxws logs? Are there some other loggers I need to enable?
