  • How do I provide a string with a list of values to an "IN" statement

    I am creating a string that is a list of comma-delimitted values by looping through the selections in a CheckBoxList. I am able to display this value, so I know that it is creating what I expect. I am attempting to pass this list to an IN statment in a SELECT query: SelectCommand="SELECT ThisDate, DATEPART(dw, ThisDate) AS Expr1 FROM fbCalendar WHERE (ThisDate &gt;= @ThisDate) AND (ThisDate &lt;= @ThisDate2) AND (DATEPART(dw, ThisDate) IN (@TheseDays))" <asp:ControlParameter ControlID="Label1" Name="TheseDays" PropertyName="Text" Type="String" /> This works fine as long as there is only a single item selected, but selecting a second item fails with the message: Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value '4,5' to data type int. However, I do not understand when this would be converted to an INT. I have tried many different formatting attempts (such as encapsulating the string in parenthesis (e.g. "(4,5)" ) for the SELECT query, but I have yet to find the right one to make this work. It seems like formatting is the problem, but perhaps I am missing something else.

    I have a asp.net mvc application with NHibernate and I do not know how to resolve a problem to query some data.     I am trying to code this algorithm. I am stuck in the part of log((1.0-u)/u))/beta; As I understand, I can not get the result of this in C, as it will always return me with negative value log (returning imaginary value). Tried to print the result of log(1-5) for instance, it gives me with Nan. How can I get the result of double x = (alpha - log((1.0-u)/u))/beta then? Would appreciate for any pointers to solve this problem. Thank you

    I'm quite new to Scala and struggling with the following: I have database objects (type of BaseDoc) and value objects (type of BaseVO). Now there are multiple convert methods (all called 'convert') that take an instance of an object and convert it to the other type accordingly - like this: def convert(doc: ClickDoc): ClickVO = ... def convert(doc: PointDoc): PointVO = ... def convert(doc: WindowDoc): WindowVO = ... Now I sometimes need to convert a list of objects. How would I do this - I tried: def convert[D <: BaseDoc, V <: BaseVO](docs: List[D]):List[V] = docs match { case List() => List() case xs => xs.map(doc => convert(doc)) } Which results in 'overloaded method value convert with alternatives ...'. I tried to add manifest information to it, but couldn't make it work. I couldn't even create one method for each because it'd say that they have the same parameter type after type erasure (List). Ideas welcome!

    Hi I'm having a hard time getting started to layout code for this problem. I have a fixed amount of random numbers, in this case 8 numbers. R[] = { 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 }; That are going to be placed in 3 sets of numbers, with the only constraint that each set contain minimum one value, and each value can only be used once. For example: R1[] = { 1, 4 } R2[] = { 2, 8, 5, 6 } R3[] = { 7, 4 } I need to loop through all possible combinations of a set R1, R2, R3. Order is not important, so if the above example happened, I don't need R1[] = { 4, 1 } R2[] = { 2, 8, 5, 6 } R3[] = { 7, 4 } NOR R1[] = { 2, 8, 5, 6 } R2[] = { 7, 4 } R3[] = { 1, 4 } What is a good method?

  • Why is it inserting 0's instead of blank spaces into my DB using php?

    I have an insert: $sql = 'INSERT into orders SET fax_int_prefix = "'.$_SESSION['fax_int_prefix'].'", fax_prefix = "'.$_SESSION['fax_prefix'].'", fax_first = "'.$_SESSION['fax_first'].'", fax_last = "'.$_SESSION['fax_last']; The value of all of these fields is that they are blank right before the insert. Here is an example of one of them I echo'd out just before the insert: $_SESSION[fax_prefix] = For some reason it inserts the integer 0, instead of a blank value or null, as it should. Why is it inserting 0's instead of blank spaces into my DB?

  • Using the same cookie in two logins

    Hi everyone, I need your help I've a MVC project that uses Jquery, where I've implemented a mechanism of "Remember Me" using cookies to save, clear and retrieve the login and password. I also have two screens where the user does the login. I want that both logins manipulate the same cookie. I've got to implement it, but I've realized that each one has a different behaviour. I mean, the cookie's value I save in the first login is not the same than the value that retrieves the second login (when I open it). In other words, if I mark "remind me" on the first login, it isn't reflected on the second login and viceversa. What can I do to make that both of them manipulate and read the same values from the same cookie? Is it possible? PS: For this situations I'm using the same web navigator: Firefox or IE.   • How to create "lock" (stop updating of cells) in Excel?

    My question is pretty simple, but one to which I can't really find a solution myself. I use Excel quite frequently, but rarely the fancy stuff. Anyway, to the point: How do I create a dropmenu that will lock certain cells, rows or columns? (by lock I mean unable to change via hand and stops updating itself). Example: A1 = 5 B1 = A1 * 100 Can I "lock" the B1-cell, so that changing A1 will have no effect on B1 (Will remain at value 500)? I would preferably want to be able to "unlock" the cell as well, instead of simply making function into value. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

  • Problems deleting cookies, won't unset (PHP).

    I've tried searching the php manual and internet on how to delete cookies and I've tried it the exact same way they all say: setcookie("name", '', 1); or setcookie("name", '', time()-3600); But when I check the cookies in the cookies dialog in Firefox, it's still there with the same value. I set this cookie using the following line: setcookie("name", $value, time() + 259200, $path); I found this question on stackoverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2497501/cookie-wont-unset, but none of the answers solved the problem. I also tried putting all paramaters in, like the author said, but it had no effect. Does anyone see the problem?

    So in my source file I have the folowin function: void update(state* old_state, state* measurement, uint32_t size) { state new_state[size]; //some function using measurement and old_state and returning the result in newstate arm_fadd_32(measurement,old_state,newstate,size); // rest of the code } Now the compiler throws an error saying that error#28:expression must have a constant value. I think it's due to the fact that even though inside the method the size local variable is not changing the compiler is expecting a constant while defining the size. I have tried the following: int const a = size; and then tried to reinitialize it says constant value is not known. I did some research in internet and it appears that there is no easier way without using malloc, which I don't want to since I am using the code for some embedded application. Is there a way to avoid this problem without really using malloc? Thanks in advance guys!

I have been doing this so far for each table, but with more than 70 of these it becomes cumbersome and boring to do. Is there a way to generate the following code dynamically, And swap out the hardcoded tablenames with the values from the parameterlist?   • Storing acceleration values in Objective-C/Cocoa?

    Hi all, I'm writing for the iPhone and I'm trying to measure the time between maximum accelerations. Imagine you've attached your iPhone to an oscillating spring. What I want to do is measure the frequency of the oscillation. The way I am going about doing this is storing a certain number acceleration values (updated 20 times per second) in an NSMutableArray and comparing the current acceleration value with previous acceleration values. How do I add each updated acceleration value to the NSMutableArray and at the same time delete values from the back of the array as I don't need them any more? Thanks in advance!

I'd have thought 'no' unless integers are written byte-at-a-time, in which case I can see the use. But I'd have though modern cpus would read/write integers in a single atomic action...
