• When Citrix desktop disconnects SAP Client holds session and can't log back in

  We have a fairly large Citrix implementation and have just pushed out SAP desktop client to all of the desktops. Everything else is working fine except the following problem: If a user Disconnects their session and the session is running the SAP client, (logging off works fine) the user can not reconnect and log back in. We have a script on the server that terminates the session as a work around. We can see on the server that it is the SAP client that is holding on and running. This is at a large office, but the SAP servers are in another hemisphere. As is the custom Citrix says its SAP and SAP says it is Citrix. I don't like using a powershell script as a substitute for a system configuration solution.

  Hello. As you know, even if it is possible to start httpd in worker mode under CentOS/RedHat, php in default rpm repo is not thread-safe. And the default configuration for stability is mpm_prefork. So, two questions: Is there PHP accelerator capable of working in mpm_prefork mode (using shm or whatever)? If there is none, what can be done to improve PHP speed on CentOS/RedHat systems (I want to use rpms, preferably from default CentOS repo; building custom PHP from source code is not a good option for me)

• Configuring Fortigate OS4 for FTPS

  I configured iis7 ftp to allow ssl connections. I set the ssl firewall to use ports 50000-50050. If I set up a custom service on my fortigate firewall for ftps with source ports 990-50050 and destination ports 990-50050, set it to a firewall policy and connect from a client it connects and works successfully. If I create a service FTPS Control with source port 990 and destination port 990 and another service,FTP Data with source ports 50000-50050 and destination ports 50000-50050 add them to a group FTPSSL, replace the ftps policy with FTPSSL and try connecting it tries to connect to port 990 and eventually times out. Is there a way to configure the service to only use the ports I need and not every port from 990 up?

  Hi I have a trouble on my windows 2008 server. I host several web site on it. From some days ago, my web sites stop responding on port 80 after a while. In this time I can't access web sites from local machine and from remote. I can also browse websites on other ports ( custom port that I set) I find that I have many Syn_Received status on netstat. And when web sites stop, I got only syn_received on port 80. I have to restart server because when I try to restart IIS , it takes a long time to stop W3SVC and many times it doesn’t stop at all. Would anyone please tell me : - How can I manage Syn Attack ? Thanks

• Apache SSL Log Incomplete SSL Handshake

  Scenario: We're running some experiments in our classroom around trusted connections and SSL, and I want to demonstrate the SSL handshake request on a man-in-the-middle attack. I have an Apache server with a self-signed cert. Everything works fine, but the logging seems incomplete as there is no way to get a list of SSL attempts. Once the client accepts the 'exception', I get normal access log messages for every request. However, I need to know what ssl request caused it to fail. Here are my log directives: LogLevel warn ErrorLog logs/ssl_error_log CustomLog logs/ssl_access_log combined #the combined is your average custom log My desire is a list of every SSL handshake attempted. • grub-efi refuses to chainload Windows 8.1

  I have installed LMDE (with grub in MBR) after I installed Windows 8.1. • Auto-Attach EBS-volume to a New Spot Instance?

  I am experimenting with EC2 spot instances, and am needing some data to be retained between terminations. Now as I understand it, when the current price goes above my max. bid, it will be automatically terminated. I assume any init scripts I have will be run on shutdown so I can push data off to the EBS before unmounting. My question is, how can I automatically mount the same EBS volume on the new spot instance once the price goes down, since it won't have any of my init scripts that I would've loaded onto the root volume the first time? Do I have to create a custom AMI, or is there some other way to achieve this?

• Multiple Schedule/Task Views (devs, customer, etc) in MS Project (or other)

  Is there a way to configure multiple views/filters in MS Project for the same set of tasks? I want to have a view that is configured for customer's only, for example. So, it would have large milestone tasks only, and hide all of the details that are there for the benefit of the team members. If MS Project doesn't do this, is there any project management software that does? A free/open source version would be preferable. Edit: Apparently, "filter" was the word I needed in my Google searches. I found how to mark a task as a Milestone and use the pre-made Milestone filter. However, that still doesn't hide non-Milestone tasks the way I want it to. I haven't figured out how to make a true custom filter.

• Windows NT workstation on AD domain

  We run a Windows NT workstation connected to special manufacturing equipment, that everyone is deathly afraid to touch. It has custom software and special cards inside of the machine, making a rebuild impossible. The problem is, we are migrating to an AD domain from an NT domain, and this workstation stills needs access to storage on the network (AD computers). How should I go about doing this, after we get rid of our NT Domain controller? Upgrading to 2000 is not an option (so says management). I know, I know, if it dies we are in trouble. But that's managements choice, we just need to get rid of this NT domain.

• Upgrade MySQL on Plesk on Windows

  I just got a nasty surprise when I installed a website in Unicode Hindi (Indian language) on a server, all freshly entered unicode data is turning into question marks on the server. On my dev machine it works perfectly. I found that I have MySQL version 5.0.45 (installed in default by Plesk I guess). On my dev machine i have version 5.1.33. I believe the problem could be due to the version difference. The new version of MySQL apparently has better support for Unicode than the older one. I want to upgrade MySQL on my Windows Server machine with Plesk installed on it I am reluctant to just install the new version using the mysql installer because Plesk maintains some custom settings for mysql and I am afraid the new version could change those settings and break my db. Can anyone tell me do I have to do anything special to install MySQL on plesk on windows or can I just use the new version installer?

• What causes winsock 10055 errors? How should I troubleshoot?

  I'm investigating some issues with winsock 10055 errors on a chain of custom applications (some of which we control, some not) and was hoping to get some advice on techniques to troubleshoot the problem. No buffer space available. An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full. From research, non-paged pool and ports seem to be the only resources which can cause this error. Is there another resource which might cause 10055 errors? Currently, we have perfmon counters setup on the applications and non-paged pool usage looks low in most circumstances. Open TCP connections looks low and I am unaware of another way to monitor ports. Since it only happens in production, we are unable to use more invasive counters. Is there some other tool or procedure you would recommend to diagnose which application is causing the issue?

  Hi Folks, Problem when i manually set the HTTP Status of my Response stream to .. say 404 or 503, IIS renders up the stock IIS content/view, instead of my custom view. When I do this with the Web Development Server (aka. Casinni), it works correctly (ie. my content is displayed and the response.statuscode == my entered data. Is there anyway I can override this behaviour?   I set up a website with my own custom PHP code. It appears that people from places like Ukraine are trying to hack it. They're trying a bunch of odd accesses, seemingly to detect what PHP files I've got. They've discovered that I have PHP files called mail.php and sendmail.php, for instance. They've tried a bunch of GET options like: http://mydomain.com/index.php?do=/user/register/ http://mydomain.com/index.php?app=core&module=global§ion=login http://mydomain.com/index.php?act=Login&CODE=00 I suppose these all pertain to something like LiveJournal? Here's what's odd, and the subject of my question. They're trying this URL: http://mydomain.com?3e3ea140 What kind of website is vulnerable to a 32-bit hex number?

Its a Master ans Slave method. Where i will link above Nameservers to my domains in shared hosting. My Question is: How do i tell root DNS servers about my own authoritative only DNS server? So that when someone queries for domain www.example.com and if the domain's website is hosted in my shared hosting i want root servers to point the query to my own DNS Server so that the www.example.com get resolved for IP address.

• Ideas for campus Internet Login mechanism?

  Hello, I work at this university and I'm seeking an effective solution for an internet login mechanism. We have a leased-link at our campus, which is shared by both staff & students. All systems (desktops + laptops + handhelds) connect to the internal network via wifi and can then get onto the net. However, a local govt. regulation requires us to keep track of individual internet usage and hence we need a solution (pref. free / opensource) that'll enable us to implement some sort of an authentication mechanism once a user hooks onto the network. One requirement is that the software should be able to authenticate either against LDAP or some other custom user database (MySQL based) or both. Can anyone suggest any such software or mechanism? Most of our servers are Linux based... so something that runs off such a platform will be good. Thanks, m^e

  I have an upstart script that will start a custom jetty server. When I do sudo start [myservice] nothing happens. Subsequently, sudo status [myservice] show it as: [myservice] start/killed, process 3586. • Can't get PHP Errors in IIS7.5

  I've tried the previously answered questions regarding this to no avail. Just installed PHP5 and IIS on my Windows 7 machine and I'm having trouble getting PHP Errors displayed instead of 500 Errors. In PHP; error_reporting = E_ALL display_errors = On In IIS I have htmlErrors set to Detailed which shows a detailed IIS 500 Error page. If set to Custom it shows a basic 500 Error page. If I set it to PassThrough I get a blank page (view-source reveals no code). My PHP log file is showing a Fatal PHP Runtime Error.

  I want to use google.com instead of google.com.hk as my default search engine in Chrome. I tried to use custom search engine, but they all break search suggestions, not even something like https://encrypted.google.com/search?q=%s&{google:RLZ}{google:acceptedSuggestion} {google:originalQueryForSuggestion}{google:assistedQueryStats} {google:searchFieldtrialParameter}sourceid=chrome&ie={inputEncoding} which include parameters like acceptedSuggestion that seems to imply seach suggestions being enabled. But no, search suggestions still don't work. In addition. some websites suggest editing Local State file under Chrome's setting folder. I already tried that, and it didn't work at all. So, is there any way to use google.com as default search engine without breaking search suggestions?

  I have created a Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 presentation (a .ppt file) on Windows XP that contains a lot of animation, using PowerPoint's Custom Animation tools. I would like to share this presentation -- animations and all -- with a colleague who has a Mac computer and does not have PowerPoint or Keynote. Is it possible to make a "movie" from my .ppt file that contains a lot of animation? I recall that another colleague once made me a QuickTime "movie" from a PowerPoint file, I think (although I do not remember whether he made it using Windows or Mac). On this "movie," clicking advanced the animation/slide, just as clicking would do in an actual PowerPoint presentation. In that sense, it was not really strictly a movie, since I could interact with it by clicking. Do you know how to make such an interactive "movie" from a PowerPoint 2003 presentation (a .ppt file)?   I've been assigned to research out and spec replacing our old and decrepit http content filtering system. There are several open source filtering packages available but I've not come across one that does SSL inspection. The new system will scale to many branches of different sizes, from say 10 users to a few hundred, so purchasing an appliance for each branch isn't desirable. When we're further along, we will do custom programming as we have a few unique needs in other aspects of filtering, so if the suggestion takes a bit of customization, it won't be a problem.

  I've upgraded from Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04 beta 1 and PHP got upgraded from 5.2 to 5.3 Now all my WordPress & Magento sites arent working. I tried retrieving the URL headers from the command line, but HTTP request fails. Utilizing get_headers in a small script, PHP Warning: get_headers(http://local.vhosts1.com): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! in get_headers.php on line 12 But HTTP request fails only for WordPress and Magento based sites - not custom written ones. Does this probably have to do with some htaccess directive ?

• Installation of large programs in OSX.

  A few newbie OSX questions: Despite the fact that most applications can be installed by dragging them to the Applications directory, some software still requires the creation of a separate program folder. Where should I put this folder? Does it matter? Is the Applications directory special somehow, or is it just a convenient folder with a custom icon? If I move one of these program folders later on, will the program still work? Will shortcuts to files in the folder break? Is there something similar to a registry in OSX? Thanks!

  Hello Everyone Yesterday I installed the Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 on a Windows Server 2003 which has Unicenter Software Delivery 4 installed. Prior to the installation I disabled every CA service on the server (Brightstor, SDO , RCO, TNG) and the MS SQL 2000 service. After the installation of the SP2 I enabled the services again but the Unicenter Service is not able to connect to the MS SQL 2000 Database anymore. The database itself is up and running and I can connect to it with the Enterprise Manager. A dbcc checkdb doesnt return any errors on the Unicenter database. • How to get Windows 7 logon wallpaper to tile to other monitors?

  In 2000/XP/Vista it was easy to set a wallpaper for the logon screen, either manually through tools like Logonstudio or simple registry changes by hand on prepared installation images or through custom group policies. In Windows 7 all this works as usual, but the secondary (or any additional) monitor is just black. The mouse pointer is visible on it but no matter what settings I can't get the wallpaper to tile (or stretch or fill or whatever) over onto it. This makes it hard to OEM/company brand the installation for multi-monitor users. More annoying is the fact that it looks officially supported to brand the logon wallpaper in Windows 7 - as it's made extremely easy... apart from this little catch.

• Sharp flat panel scaling with Nvidia drivers

  I have a Samsung 226BW flat panel with a 1680x1050 native resolution. As my PC is rather dated (Athlon XP 2600+ and GeForce 6600 GT), I need to run more recent games (but still old) on a lower resolution. Unfortunately, scaling low resolutions to 1680x1050 results in a very blurry image (bilinear scaling). I have created a custom resolution of 840x525 in the Nvidia control panel. Technically, this resolutions allows perfect upscaling to 1680x1050 without the need for bilinear interpolation. Unfortunately, the Nvidia driver always seems to do bilinear scaling, again resulting in a blurry image. However, I seem to remember that I did obtain crisp images using this resolution in the past (before a Windows re-install). Maybe only some driver versions support integer upscaling without bilinear filtering? Or perhaps there are other solutions?
