  • Passing trough a datagrid value

    - by Tonz
I have a datagrid with 2 columns. One databound which display names and the other one is a hyperlink column. Column1 = databound column, Column2 = hyperlink column. column1: column2: --------------------- Name1 Modify Name2 Modify Next when i click on any of the values in Column2 i simply get redirected to a other page. This page contains 2 buttons/hyperlinks with Yes or No. (does not mather wich control, which one would bring the most easy to implement solution atm) When clicked on No it simply redirects back to the orignal page. Now the question is when i press "Yes" how exactly do i acces "Name1" (or Name2 if i press on the second modify)? Meaning if i press Yes i want to use this Name for certain opertions (xml). To put it short if i press on "modify" i want to be able to get that name associated with it (which is already displayed in the first bound column left of it). So the goal is to use that name in Xpath for example so i can make a query towards that node with that certain name. Hopefully this made some sence.

  • SLRequest return nil before block complete

    - by jaytr0n
I'm having a little trouble thinking through this and deciding if it's a design flaw on my behalf or if I'm missing a piece that could make this work. Basically I'm using the new SLRequest to make a Twitter API call. After the data is returned, I'd like to put it into an object and return that object: -(AUDSlide *) getFollowerSlide { SLRequest *getRequest = [SLRequest requestForServiceType:SLServiceTypeTwitter requestMethod:SLRequestMethodGET URL:[NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"https://api.twitter.com/1.1/followers/ids.json?user_id=%@", [[self.twitterAccount valueForKey:@"properties"] valueForKey:@"user_id"]]] parameters:nil]; getRequest.account = twitterAccount; AUDSlide *slide = [[AUDSlide alloc] init]; [getRequest performRequestWithHandler:^(NSData *responseData, NSHTTPURLResponse *urlResponse, NSError *error) { if ([urlResponse statusCode] == 200) { NSError *jsonError = nil; NSDictionary *list = [NSJSONSerialization JSONObjectWithData:responseData options:0 error:&jsonError]; NSLog(@"Number of Followers: %u", [[list objectForKey:@"ids"] count]); slide.title = @"Followers"; slide.number = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%u",[[list objectForKey:@"ids"] count]]; } else{ slide.title = @"Error"; slide.number = [NSString stringWithFormat: @"E%u", [urlResponse statusCode]]; } }]; return slide; } Of course the slide is returned before the call is complete and returns a nil object. So I'm not sure if I should try to force this into a synchronous request (that seems like it could be a bad idea) or rethink the design. Does anyone have any advice?

  • Integration test for H1 text failing when it should be passing (Rspec and Capybara)

    - by rebec
Below you can see my test for what happens when a user tries to access the page to edit a profile photo that they don't own. I've used the same test on the NEW action, where it worked fine, but it surprised me by failing when I copied it down to the EDIT action tests. I've used save_and_open_page to test what Capybara's seeing (as you can see below); the resulting page definitely has an h1 with the specified text in it. No spelling errors, and case is all the same as in the test. I've tried using both have_css and have_selector. Both fail. I'm still learning Ruby, Rails, Rspec and especially Capybara (was using webrat previously and recently switched over), and wonder if I'm misconceiving of something that's making me expect this to pass when it doesn't. Any thoughts? Thanks! describe "EDIT" do let(:user) { FactoryGirl.create(:user) } let(:different_user) { FactoryGirl.create(:user) } let(:admin_user) { FactoryGirl.create(:user, role: "admin") } let(:profile_photo1) { FactoryGirl.create(:profile_photo, user: user) } subject { page } context "when signed in as any member" do before { login different_user visit edit_user_profile_photo_path(:id => profile_photo1, :user_id => profile_photo1.user_id) save_and_open_page } # It should deny access with an Unauthorised/Forbidden message. it { should have_css('h1', text: "Unauthorised/Forbidden.") } end

  • How to store a captured image into MySQL database using JavaScript

    - by R J.
    I am capturing image using canvas and i want to store a captured image in MySQL Database using Javascript. This is my code: <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, maximum-scale=1.0"> <style> body {width: 100%;} canvas {display: none;} </style> <title>Instant Camera - Remote</title> <script> var video, canvas, msg; var load = function () { video = document.getElementById('video'); canvas = document.getElementById('canvas'); msg = document.getElementById('error'); if( navigator.getUserMedia ) { video.onclick = function () { var context = canvas.getContext("2d"); context.drawImage(video, 0, 0, 240, 320); var image1 = canvas.toDataURL("image/png"); document.write('<img src="' + image1 + '" />'); }; } else { msg.innerHTML = "Native web camera not supported :("; } }; window.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', load, false); </script> </head> <body> <video id="video" width="240" height="320" autoplay> </video> <p id="error">Click on the video to send a snapshot to the receiving screen</p> <canvas id="canvas" width="240" height="320"> </canvas> </body> </html>

  • Is fetching data from database a get-method thing?

    - by theva
I have a small class that I call Viewer. This class is supposed to view the proper layout of each page or something like that... I have a method called getFirstPage, when called the user of this method will get a setting value for which page is currently set as the first page. I have some code here, I think it works but I am not really shure that I have done it the right way: class Viewer { private $db; private $user; private $firstPage; function __construct($db, $user) { $this->db = $db; if(isset($user)) { $this->user = $user; } else { $this->user = 'default'; } } function getFistPage() { $std = $db->prepare("SELECT firstPage FROM settings WHERE user = ':user'"); $std->execute(array(':user' => $user)); $result = $std->fetch(); $this->firstPage = $result['firstPage']; return $this->firstPage; } } My get method is fetching the setting from databse (so far so good?). The problem is that then I have to use this get method to set the private variable firstPage. It seems like I should have a set method to do this, but I cannot really have a set method that just fetch some setting from database, right? Because the user of this object should be able to assume that there already is a setting defined in the object... How should I do that?

  • How to get an error message out of my webpage

    - by Vaccano
I have a web page that when I run it on a remote computer I get the message saying that remote errors cannot be viewed When I go to view it on my web server machine, I get a message saying: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage • Most likely causes: • You are not connected to the Internet. • The website is encountering problems. • There might be a typing error in the address. What you can try: Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected. Retype the address. Go back to the previous page. I can get to google fine, so it is not the internet connection.... But this message gives me nothing to work on. How can I get more info as to why my page is not working? I tried going to IIS Mananger and right clicking on the site and selecting browse. But my site is an HTTPS site so that does not work. Any ideas would be great.

  • Checkbox not working properly for IE with jquery

    - by wildanjel
Hi, I am trying using several asp.net checkboxes on a page, disabling them accordingly. <asp:CheckBox ID='chkMenuItem' runat='server' CssClass='HiddenText' Text='Test' onclick='<%#String.Format("checkChild({0});", Eval("id")) %>' /> on javascript, I am using the following code function checkChild(id) { for (i = 0; i < $("input[id*=hdnParentMenuItemID]").length; i++) { if ($('input[id*=hdnParentMenuItemID]')[i].value.split(':')[0] == id) { var childID = $('input[id*=hdnParentMenuItemID]')[i].value.split(':')[1]; if ($("#" + childID).attr("disabled")) //$("#" + childID).attr('disabled', ''); $("#" + childID).removeAttr("disabled"); else $("#" + childID).attr('disabled', true); } } } Now is the checkboxes are disabled once the page is loaded, the removeAttr section doesn't work. I tried to step through the debugger and the logic works perfectly fine. If the checkboxes aren't disabled on page load, the code works fine. I tried replacing disabled 'attributes' with 'checked' to see if the other attributes work fine and it works perfectly fine. I tried $("#" + childID).attr('disabled', ''); but it didnt work either. Note: It works perfect on FF and Chrome but doesnt work in IE. Thanks,

  • Clarification of a some code

    - by Legend
I have come across a website that appears to use Ajax but does not include any js file except one file called ajax.js which has the following: function run(c, f, b, a, d) { var e = null; if (b && f) { document.getElementById(b).innerHTML = f } if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { e = new XMLHttpRequest() } else { if (window.ActiveXObject) { e = new ActiveXObject(Microsoft.XMLHTTP) } } e.onreadystatechange = function () { if (e.readyState == 4) { if (e.status == 200 || e.statusText == "OK") { if (b) { document.getElementById(b).innerHTML = e.responseText } if (a) { setTimeout(a, 0) } } else { console.log("AJAX Error: " + e.status + " | " + e.statusText); if (b && d != 1) { document.getElementById(b).innerHTML = "AJAX Error. Please try refreshing." } } } }; e.open("GET", c, true); e.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); e.send(null) } Like you might have guessed, the way it issues queries inside the page with queries like this: run('page.php',loadingText,'ajax-test', 'LoadSamples()'); I must admit that this is the first time I've seen a page from which I could not figure how things are being done. I have a few questions: Is this Server-Side Ajax or something similar? If not, can someone clarify what exactly is this? Why does one use this? Is it for hiding the design details? (which are otherwise revealed in plain text by javascript) How difficult would it be to convert my existing application into this design pattern? (maybe a subjective question but any short suggestion will do) Any suggestions?

  • Detect if Download is Complete

    - by user604138
I have a very simple and standard PHP force download script. How do I check if/when the download has completed in order to notify the user on the clientside? I don't even need to show the progress in real time, I am only interested in the very specific event: "when the download completes". Based on my research, it seems like it would have to be determined from the serverside as there is noondownloadready event and I don't think it is possible to intercept browser events. So it seems that my best bet would be to compare bytes sent to total bytes with some sort of clientside/severside interaction. How would I go about checking the bytes sent from the server for a PHP forced download? is there some sort of global PHP variable that store these data that I can ping with AJAX? <?php header("Content-Type: video/x-msvideo"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"".basename($realpath)."\";"); ... $chunksize = 1 * (1024 * 1024); // how many bytes per chunk if ($size > $chunksize) { $handle = fopen($realpath, 'rb'); $buffer = ''; while (!feof($handle)) { $buffer = fread($handle, $chunksize); echo $buffer; ob_flush(); flush(); } fclose($handle); } else { readfile($realpath); } exit(); ?> The reason I need this: For the project I am working on, it is required that after the download starts, the page redirects to (or displays) a "please wait while the download completes" page. Then, once it is complete, it should redirect to (or display) a "Your download is complete, thank you" page. I am open to other ideas that would achieve the same result.

  • How to handle product ratings in a database

    - by Mel
Hello, I would like to know what is the best approach to storing product ratings in a database. I have in mind the following two (simplified, and assuming a MySQL db) scenarios: Scenario 1: Create two columns in the product table to store number of votes and the sum of all votes. Use columns to get an average on the product display page: products(productedID, productName, voteCount, voteSum) Pros: I will only need to access one table, and thus execute one query to display product data and ratings. Cons: Write operations will be executed in a table whose original purpose is only to furnish product data. Scenario 2: Create an additional table to store ratings. products(productID, productName) ratings(productID, voteCount, voteSum) Pros: Isolate ratings into a separate table, leaving the products table to furnish data on available products. Cons: I will have to execute two separate queries on product page requests (one for data and another for ratings). In terms of performance, which of the following two approaches is best: Allow users to execute an occasional write query to a table that will handle hundreds of read requests? Execute two queries at every product page, but isolate the write query into a separate table. I'm a novice to database development, and often find myself struggling with simple questions such as these. Many thanks,

  • Reverse wildcard search in codeigniter

    - by Andy Platt
I am implementing a snippet-based content management system into my current project. Snippets can be associated with a page either by exact match of the full url falling back to a wildcard match on a partial url or finally a default snippet. To implement this I have a created table of page associations with a wildcard flag, the system first checks the current url against the non-wildcard associations and if it doesn't find a match it checks against the partial url's where the wildcard flag is set. In order to achieve this I am getting all the partial url's from the database and putting them into an array then walking the array to check for a match against the current url: protected function _check_wildcard($url = NULL) { if($url) { $q = $this->db->where('wildcard' ,'Y') ->from('content') ->get(); $wildcards = $q->result_array(); foreach($wildcards AS $wildcard) { if(strpos($url,$wildcard['url']) > 0) { return $wildcard['snipppet_id']; } } } else { return NULL; } } Can anyone suggest a better way to do this - preferably one that doesn't involve having to constantly download the full list of all the wildcards each time I load a page as I am afraid that this will have a negative effect on the scalability of the system down the line?

  • Save many-to-one relationship from JSON into Core Data

    - by Snow Crash
I'm wanting to save a Many-to-one relationship parsed from JSON into Core Data. The code that parses the JSON and does the insert into Core Data looks like this: for (NSDictionary *thisRecipe in recipes) { Recipe *recipe = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Recipe" inManagedObjectContext:insertionContext]; recipe.title = [thisRecipe objectForKey:@"Title"]; NSDictionary *ingredientsForRecipe = [thisRecipe objectForKey:@"Ingredients"]; NSArray *ingredientsArray = [ingredientsForRecipe objectForKey:@"Results"]; for (NSDictionary *thisIngredient in ingredientsArray) { Ingredient *ingredient = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Ingredient" inManagedObjectContext:insertionContext]; ingredient.name = [thisIngredient objectForKey:@"Name"]; } } NSSet *ingredientsSet = [NSSet ingredientsArray]; [recipe setIngredients:ingredientsSet]; Notes: "setIngredients" is a Core Data generated accessor method. There is a many-to-one relationship between Ingredients and Recipe However, when I run this I get the following error: NSCFDictionary managedObjectContext]: unrecognized selector sent to instance If I remove the last line (i.e. [recipe setIngredients:ingredientsSet];) then, taking a peek at the SQLite database, I see the Recipe and Ingredients have been stored but no relationship has been created between Recipe and Ingredients Any suggestions as to how to ensure the relationship is stored correctly?

  • Mystery: How does Google do cross-domain iframe communication?

    - by Shraga
Hi everyone, When you host Googles web search element on a page, a div is created which incorporates an iframe which points to a Google adsense ads page. However, if there are no ads for the specific query, Google somehow changes the class on YOUR domain to render the div (and iframe) invisible. They are NOT using postMessage, as it also works in IE7. They are also not using the fragment identifier method, as no hash appears in the url. So how do they do it? To check what I'm saying just put the following into a regular html page: <!-- Google Custom Search Element --> <div id="cse" style="width:100%;">Loading</div> <script src="http://www.google.com/jsapi" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> google.load('search', '1'); google.setOnLoadCallback(function(){ new google.search.CustomSearchControl().draw('cse'); }, true); </script> and then do a search for "cars" (or anything else that will definitely have ads) and then for "wzxv", which has no ads...

For instance if user go to http://localhost/test.html#test2 The main container(result) in the page will do an ajax load call to test2.html to get the content. I can't manage to get this simple code working. Appreciate if someone can guide me in the right direction. Thanks.

  • Javascript - Wait for function to return

    - by LoadData
So, I am working on a project which requires me to call upon a function to get data from an external source. The issue I am having, I call upon the function - However the code after the function call is continuing before the function has returned a value. Here is the function - function getData() { var myVar; var xmlLoc = $.get("http://ec.urbentom.co.uk/StudentAppData.xml", function(data) { $xml = $(data); myVar = $xml; console.log(myVar); console.log(String($xml)); localStorage.setItem("Data", $xml); console.log(String(localStorage.getItem("Data"))); return myVar; }); return myVar; console.log("Does this continue"); } And here is where it is called upon - $(document).on("pageshow","#Information",function() { $xml = $(getData()); //Here is the function call console.log($xml); //However, it will instantly go to this line before 'getData' has returned a value. $xml.find('AllData').each(function() { $(this).find('item').each(function() { if ($(this).find('Category').text()=="Facilities") { console.log($(this).find('Title').text()); //Do stuff here } else if ($(this).find('Category').text()=="Contacts" || $(this).find('Category').text()=="Information") { console.log($(this).find('Title').text()); //Do stuff here too } }); $('#informationList').html(output).listview().listview("refresh"); console.log("Finished"); }); }); Right now, I'm unsure of why it is not working. My guess is that it is because I am calling a function within a function. Does anyone have any ideas on how this issue can be fixed?

  • how can I cache a partial retrieved through link_to_remote in rails?

    - by Angela
I use link_to_remote to pull the dynamic contents of a partial onto the page. It's basically a long row from a database of "todo's" for the day. So as the person goes through and checks them off, I want to show the updated list with a line through those that are finished. Currently, I end up needing to click on the link_to_remote again after an item is ticked off, but would like it to redirect back to the "cached" page of to-do's but with the one item lined through. How do I do that? Here is the main view: <% @campaigns.each do |campaign| %> <!--link_to_remote(name, options = {}, html_options = nil)--> <tr><td> <%= link_to_remote(campaign.name, :update => "campaign_todo", :url => {:action => "campaign_todo", :id => campaign.id } ) %> </td></tr> <% end %> </table> <div id="campaign_todo"> </div> I'd like when the New/Create actions are done to go back to the page that redirected it there.

  • PHP SDK Requires two logins...doesn't recognize first

I am using the following code to authenticate whether users are logged in or not. While users can log in, they have to click the login button twice. Additionally, sometimes even after they click the log-in button twice, my "user info" part of the page (earlier in the page than the content) shows them as logged out while the actual page shows them as logged in. Here is the code. Could someone suggest a better way of handling log-ins? function isLoggedIn($facebook) { if (isset($facebook) and $facebook->getUser() != 0) { // UserID exists, but user may still not be logged in. Let's check: try { $facebook->api('/me', 'GET'); // If this succeeds, then they are logged in. return true; } catch(FacebookApiException $e) { // Some kind of error, so not logged in. if(session_id() === '') session_destroy(); return false; } } else { if(session_id() === '') session_destroy(); return false; } } Thanks!

  • Optional mix of filter parameters in a search the Rails way.

    - by GSP
I've got a simple list page with a couple of search filters status which is a simple enumeration and a test query which I want to compare against both the title and description field of my model. In my controller, I want to do something like this: def index conditions = {} conditions[:status] = params[:status] if params[:status] and !params[:status].empty? conditions[???] = ["(descr = ? or title = ?)", params[:q], params[:q]] if params[:q] and !params[:q].empty? @items = Item.find(:all, :conditions => conditions) end Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can mix the two types of conditions (the hash and the paramatized version). Is there a "Rails Way" of doing this or do I simply have to do something awful like this: has_status = params[:status] and !params[:status].empty? has_text = params[:q] and !params[:q].empty? if has_status and !has_text # build paramatized condition with just the status elsif has_text and !has_status # build paramatized condition with just the text query elsif has_text and has_status # build paramatized condition with both else # build paramatized condition with neither end I'm migrating from Hibernate and Criteria so forgive me if I'm not thinking of this correctly... Environment: Rails 2.3.4

  • "render as JSON" is display JSON as text instead of returning it to AJAX call as expected

    - by typoknig
I'm navigating to the index action of MyController. Some of the on the index page I'm making an AJAX call back to myAction in MyController. I expect myAction action to return some data as JSON to my AJAX call so I can do something with the data client side, but instead of returning the data as JSON like I want, the data is being displayed as text. Example of my Grails controller: class MyController { def index() { render( view: "myView" ) } def myAction { def mapOfStuff = [ "foo": "foo", "bar":] render mapOfStuff as JSON } } Example of my JavaScript: $( function() { function callMyAction() { $.ajax({ dataType: 'json', url: base_url + '/myController/myAction', success: function( data ) { $(function() { if( data.foo ) { alert( data.foo ); } if( data.bar ) { alert( data.bar ); } }); } }); } }); What I expect is that my page will render, then my JavaScript will be called, then two alerts will display. Instead the JSON array is displayed as text in my browser window: {"foo":"foo","bar":"bar"} At this point the last segment of the URL in my address bar is myAction and not index. Now if I manually enter the URL of the index page and press refresh, all works as expected. I have half a dozen AJAX calls I do the exact same way and none of them are having problems. What is the deal here? UPDATE: I have noticed something. When I set a break point in the index action of MyController and another one in the myAction action, the break point in myAction gets hit BEFORE the break point in index, even though I am navigating to the index. This is obviously closer to the root cause of my problem, but why is it happening?

  • Error while setting UserAcces permission for WebForms?

I've created a class named BaseClass.cs and I've written a function in its constructor. Here's how it looks public class BasePage:Page { public BasePage() { setUserPermission(); } private void setUserPermission() { String strPathAndQuery = HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.PathAndQuery; string strulr = strPathAndQuery.Replace("/SGERP/", "../"); Session["Url"] = strulr; GEN_FORMS clsForm = new GEN_FORMS(); clsForm.Form_Logical_Name = Session["Url"].ToString(); clsForm.User_ID = Convert.ToInt32(Session["User_ID"]); DataSet dsPermission = clsForm.RETREIVE_BUTTON_PERMISSIONS(); if (dsPermission.Tables.Count > 0) { if (dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows.Count > 0) { Can_Add = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Add"].ToString()); Can_Delete = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Delete"].ToString()); Can_Edit = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Edit"].ToString()); Can_Print = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Print"].ToString()); Can_View = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Print"].ToString()); } } } } I've inherited this class on my webform so that when the page loads, the setUserPermission function is executed. My webpage looks like this public partial class Setting_CompanyDetails : BasePage My problem is that I cannot access Session["Url"] in my BasePage. I'm getting the following error Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the <configuration>\<system.web>\<httpModules> section in the application configuration. How can I solve this issue? Is this the right way to set UserPermission access?

  • how to get something to display only once in a while loop

    I've got a mysql query running and it checks to see if an iterator is equal to 1, then display this div title... if ($this->dliterator == 1) {echo "<div class='clientsection' id='downloads'>Downloads</div><br/>";}; The problem is, is that the dl iterator may not necessarily start at 1. How can I get this to display only for the first time through the loop ONLY? while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { if ($row['download'] != null){ if ($this->dliterator == 1) {echo "<div class='clientsection' id='downloads'>Downloads</div><br/>";}; if ($editDownload == 1) { echo "<div class='clientlink' style='margin-top: 15px;'>"; echo "<input name='downloads[$this->dliterator][name]' type='text' id='download$this->dliterator' value='" . $row['download'] . "'/>"; echo "<input name='downloads[$this->dliterator][title]' type='text' id='downloadtitle$this->dliterator' value='" . $row['downloadtitle'] . "'/>"; echo "<img class='removelink' src='/images/deletelink.png' width='15' />"; echo "<input id='downloadid' name='downloads[$this->dliterator][id]' type='hidden' value='".$row['downloadid']."' style='display: none'/>"; echo "<br/><img id='uploaddownload$uploaditerator' class='uploaddownload' src='../images/upload.png' width='80'/>"; echo "</div>"; }; }; $this->dliterator++; $uploaditerator++; };

I would like it to toggle from show to hide and from hide back to show. when show is displayed the div will be hidden but when show is clicked the label will switch to hide and the div will be displayed and when hide is clicked the label will go back to show and the div will be hidden <html> <head> <title>jQuery test page</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="../scripts/jquery-1.4.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#clickMe").click(function() { $("#textBox").toggle(); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <label id="clickMe">Show</label> <br /> <div id="textBox" style="display: none">This text will be toggled</div> </body> </html>
