  I have Windows 7 x64 I installed this software and I have a problem. I like Ubuntu but I feel the softwares related Linux often have problems. We each time need to seek to resolve the malfunctions. my problem is , I am getting a message as Getting information, please wait and it don't disappear. My firewall is completely deactivate and I already go to the UAC or the firewall to allow the "exe" of the Ubuntu One software in the settings. Nothing runs.Linux never run at the first time.   Recently I have decided that I can't make Windows 8 my primary OS on my laptop as it is just too cumbersome to deal with. I am made the switch to Ubuntu and so far so good. Using Windows I have been able to cache folders on my workgroup server using a feature called "Client Side Cache" that allows me to take a copy of my personal files offline while I am in the field, then later I when I return any changes get pushed up to the server and my local cache is refreshed. This feature is completely client driven although characteristics of it (who and what can be cached, and if caching is automatic) can be controlled via a policy assigned as part of a directory membership. Can anyone suggest a linux replacement for this feature? Is there a better way of handling this?

  Believe it or not, I'm not too happy with Ubuntu. Well, let me rephrase that. I like it, but the only thing I don't like about it is that it's too much of a hassle to get a game to work. I'm trying to install Windows 7 with a 4GB flash drive, but my error that comes up is that my hard drive I'm trying to install on is in ext4. I need to format it to read NTFS. I can't seem to find any topics on how to format an active hard drive. I found a topic that explains how to move Ubuntu to a new drive, but it's a bit confusing to me. Please help! (Please don't disregard this topic just because I want to go back to windows)

Every dialog window has help icon if that dialog was coded to enable it. it really helps to know the functionality of the components quickly. For example I was trying to pint a document from acrobat reader and opened printer properties to print the content front and back of the paper. If you observe there is a help button before close button. To get help on options of “Print on Both Sides” you would need to click on help button first and then click on the area on which you want to see the help. above picture shows help text for the options of “Print on Both Sides”. If you would like to get the help using keyboard you can use F1 key.   I am experiencing one more problem with my Ubuntu 12.04... I have an External HD (500GB) which is NTFS formatted. I connected this HD on my Ubuntu 12.04 and copied some files. When I connected the HD on a Windows 7 machine I could find the folders (the were visible) but I wasn't able to copy/cut/delete them. However when I opened the folders I could handle the material (mp3s) in them. Does anybody know how can I fix this? How can I fully access and modify folders copied from Ubuntu via a Windows machine?   Tonight, I have reinstalled Ubuntu 12.4on Win XP pro machine for a 3rd time. (Uninstalled in between.) Oddly enough, this machine had a dual boot between xp pro & ubuntu for several months before we decided to reinstall everything (because of windows). Have you had any problems with the reboot on XP Pro SP3 with all updates & microsoft essentials? I am not getting a choice of which operating system to boot into, it just boots into windows & does not acknowledge ubuntu!

  I have installed 12.04 via WUBI because my computer does not have a CD Drive. Is there any way that I can delete Windows 7 from my computer and use the whole HD for Ubuntu? I ask this question because for one reason or another I cannot boot from a boot-able USB stick (either in Windows or Ubuntu, however the USB port works because I am able to use my cell phone's tethering plan using all the USB ports to connect to the Internet). Edit: Just found out the problem. Eee PC Model 1018p's do not boot from any format other than FAT and FAT16 and not FAT32.

  Yeah I know I should have backed up my files before proceeding, I completely forgot. Well, the thing is that I had a dual-boot system with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10. Yesterday, I installed Ubuntu 11.04 alpha 3 (through live USB). I chose that 11.04 would install over 10.10 on the installation wizard, where I have no important files. However, it overwrote Windows too, and its data. Is there some way to recover it? Thanks!

  I recently tried installing Ubuntu 12.04 alongside my Windows Vista install. I can boot fine into Ubuntu every time, but now every time I choose to boot into Windows, the process fails completely and restarts (or shuts down) my laptop. Is there anything I can do to recover this. I am very happy with Ubuntu and I do not want to recover my old Vista installation to overwrite it, but I do need to be able to use both OS's. Is it recoverable or should I start from scratch?

  as said in the title first of all i connected a usb key (ntfs formatted) with data in it, on ubuntu 12.04, after i disconnected it i was no more able to access the usb key neither from windows nor from ubuntu 12.04. • Multithreaded game fails on SwapBuffers in render thread at exit

  The render loop and windows message loop run on separate threads. The way the program exits is that after PostQuitMessage is called in WM_DESTROY the message loop thread signals the render loop thread to exit. As far as I can tell before the render loop thread can even process the signal it tries SwapBuffers and that fails. My question, is there something about how Windows processes WM_DESTROY and WM_QUIT, in maybe DefWindowProc that causes various objects associated with rendering to go away even though I haven't explicitly deleted anything? And that would explain why the rendering thread is making bad calls at exit?

  Well if you use outlook OWA in Chrome on Ubuntu (or any Linux distro), you will get a stripped down version of it basically. You can get around it by faking your user agent, to appear that you are using FireFox. So my question is.. Is there some legitimate reason Microsoft does that, or are they just being a****s??? I mean once you have the user agent faked, it works perfectly. PS. Just in case anyone else need to use outlook, here is the command to start it with fake useragent: /opt/google/chrome/google-chrome --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/6.0.481.0 Safari/534.4"
