    Hi - Receiving recommendations for commercial TCP/IP stack implementation based on FreeBSD or NetBSD. Requirements are similar to a typical desktop PC running a browser, email and streaming voice/video. Which is to say a rich network functionality for a end-host type of device with mature implementation and reasonable performance. BSD derived network stacks are deployed in wide variety of situations for years and hence have mature implementation. It's supposed to run on a proprietary RTOS. Most vendors I found don't advertise if their stack is based on BSD. Any recommendations? -- Vineet

  • What's a good way to copy files from a PC to a Windows Mobile device?

    I have a C# application running on a server, and it needs to copy files out to multiple Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. These devices are connected to the network directly via Ethernet-enabled cradles (so they are not connected to a PC via ActiveSync). What different options do I have for doing this? I know RAPI can do this, but I'm not sure if it can copy something directly over the network like this. Also, I know RAPI uses ActiveSync DLLs and thus requires ActiveSync to be installed, and we would prefer to avoid doing this if possible. Is WMI a possibility? Can we use ordinary File.IO if we can somehow get the IP address of each device? Code samples or general knowledge would be most welcome.

  • HTML overlay height to cover entire visible page

    I have a web page that loads some stuff using AJAX. I want to display an overlay with a loading indicator while the loading is in progress, so that the user cannot interact with most of the page - except the menu at the top. I'm using jQuery and the jQuery BlockUI plugin to do this. I call $(element).block() and it works fine, but the overlay only extends as far down as the current content of my page. As more content is loaded and added to the page the overlay moves down with it and this looks a bit ugly. Ideally I'd like it to cover the entire visible area of the page right from the start. A simple hack for doing this would be to set a large height value for the overlay, like this: $(myElement).block({ overlayCSS: { height: '10000px' } }); ... but this creates a scrollbar! How do I avoid this and make it just the right height to cover the visible page, but not enlarge it?

    I have this code where I am using jQuery to navigate to the next page, because I want some effects to take place before that happens. The problem is, that everything after the prevent.Default(); doesn't seem to work! $("a").click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); $(".content-center").animate({height: "0px"}, 500); navigate($(this).attr('href')); }); I need things to happen in that order, so that the animation happens and once it's complete - load the next page...   • Lost in UTF-8 hell. (Django and Python)

    I am working through the Django RSS reader project here. The RSS feed will read something like "OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — James Harden let". The RSS feed's encoding reads encoding="UTF-8" so I believe I am passing utf-8 to markdown in the code snippet below. The em dash is where it chokes. I get the Django error of "'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\u2014' in position 109: ordinal not in range(128)" which is an UnicodeEncodeError. In the variables being passed I see "OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) \u2014 James Harden". The code line that is not working is: content = content.encode(parsed_feed.encoding, "xmlcharrefreplace") I am using markdown 2.0, django 1.1, and python 2.4. What is the magic sequence of encoding and decoding that I need to do to make this work? Thanks.

  • Dealing with ISO-encoding in AJAX requests (prototype)

    I have a HTML-page, that's encoded in ISO-8859-1 and a Prototype-AJAX call that's build like this: new Ajax.Request('api.jsp', { method: 'get', parameters: {...}, onSuccess: function(transport) { var ajaxResponse = transport.responseJSON; alert(ajaxResponse.msg); } }); The api.jsp returns its data in ISO-8859-1. The response contains special characters (German Umlauts) that are not displayed correctly, even if I add a "encoding: ISO-8895-1" to the AJAX-request. Does anyone know how to fix this? If I call api.jsp in a new browser window separately the special characters are also corrupt. And I can't get any information about the used encoding in the response header. The response header looks like this: Server Apache-Coyote/1.1 Content-Type application/json Content-Length 208 Date Thu, 29 Apr 2010 14:40:24 GMT Notice: Please don't advice the usage of UTF-8. I have to deal with ISO-8859-1.

  • Jquery tabs and forms

    Hi, this may be a weird problem but I’m not sure the best way to go about it.. I am using JQuery ajax tabs. The tab section is dynamic so multiple tabs can be added, as the content is loaded via Ajax the same content can be loaded into different tabs. The other important detail is that i am using the Cache option so the tabs maintain state. Now problems arise when more than one tab has been loaded. It looks like HTML items such as forms and divs now have duplicated id's within the DOM, so Ajax queries can no longer distinguish between the elements.. The result is that any JavaScript/Ajax breaks. Does anyone have any suggestions for way to tackle such a problem? Thanks in advance..

    I have this code: $url="https://graph.facebook.com/me/friends?access_token=".$access_token."&fields=id,first_name,last_name&limit=10"; $content=file_get_contents($url); Whenever I use this on a non authenticated user I should get feedback of OAuthException, which doesn't show up in the PHP the $content is empty. While if I copy the URL to the browser I get the result and I see the exception. I want to detect if the user is logged in and the session data is valid. What might be wrong?

Now we check if it has an value - this works well with all form fields that have the class .required... but it does not work with the iframe. the iframe has a div with id #content. $('form .meet').focus(function() { $('iframe').each(function() { ** if($(this).contents().find('#content').val() == '') { ** $(this).addClass('warning'); } }) }); That means it should add the class .warning if the iframe is empty. But it always does, so what am i doing wrong? Does it not work, because the JS does not see the text i currently typed in? ^^ Regards Henry

  • Why does my server hang when I call a page over files_get_content?

    I am trying to get content from a wordpress installation on a subdomain of my server. I tried that with file_get_content and also with Zend_Http_Client. $client = new Zend_Http_Client(Zend_Registry::get('CONFIG')->static->$name->$lang); $content = $client->request()->getBody(); As long as I run in on my localhost, it works fine. As soon as it runs on the same server as the subdomain, it hangs forever (timeout). Specs: Zend Framework Application trying to get HTML from a Wordpress Page Server running on lighttpd Several cores, much ram Do you guys have an idea on how this problem can be resolved? Cheerio

  • .NET Impersonate and file upload issues

    I have a webpage that allows a user to upload a file to a network share. When I run the webpage locally (within VS 2008) and try to upload the file, it works! However, when I deploy the website to the webserver and try to upload the file through the webpage, it doesn't work! The error being returned to me on the webserver says "Access to the path '\05prd1\emp\test.txt' is denied. So, obviously, this is a permissions issue. The network share is configured to allow full access both to me (NT authentication) and to the NETWORK SERVICE (which is .NET's default account and what we have set in our IIS application pool as the default user for this website). I have tried this with and without impersonation upon the webserver and neither way works, yet both ways work on my local machine (in other words, with and without impersonation works on my local machine). The code that does the file upload is below.   • Two-way databinding of a custom templated asp.net control

    I hate long code snippets and I'm sorry about this one, but it turns out that this asp.net stuff can't get much shorter and it's so specific that I haven't been able to generalize it without a full code listing. I just want simple two-way, declarative, edit-only databinding to a single instance of an object. Not a list of objects of a type with a bunch of NotImplementedExceptions for Add, Delete, and Select, but just a single view-state persisted object. This is certainly something that can be done but I've struggled with an implementation for years. This newest, closest implementation was inspired by this article from 4-Guys-From-Rolla. Unfortunately, after implementing, I'm getting the following error and I don't know what I'm missing: System.InvalidOperationException: Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control. If I don't use Bind(), and only use Eval() functionality, it works. In that way, the error is especially confusing. Update: Actually, using Eval() does NOT work, but using <%# Container.SampleString %> works. However, Eval("SampleString") gives the same error. That leads me back to this article I found earlier but had discarded. Now I believe it might be related, though I haven't cracked it yet ...   • CSS Vertical Spacing Issue (Margin?) - Vertical Space Between Two Divs

    I've got the layout of my site mostly done. On the domain I'm testing this layout on - http://networkgenius.org/ - there is a vertical space separating the content-wrapper div and the menu div. I have the margins set to 0px for the vertical spacing, and this is the only area that is separated like it is. I'd like the white content area to be pressed up right against the bottom of the menu, so that none of the body's background shows between them. What am I doing wrong?

I have seen a few that work but only if you have one menu on the page which is not exactly useful using stopPropagation as it may cancel any other necessary instructions; any ideas would be appriciated.

  • Special characters in PHP / MySQL

    Hi, I have in the database words that include special character (in Spanish mostly, like tildes). In the database everything is saved and shown correctly with PHPmyAdmin, but when I get the data (using PHP) and display it in a browser, I get a weird character, like a "?" with a square... I need a general fix so I don't need to escape each character every time, and also I would be able to insert special Spanish characters from a PHP form into the database... The HTML is correct: <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> All tables and databas are set to utf8_spanish The character I get: ? Any suggestions??? Thanks!!!

  • C# MySQL Lost Connection

    Hi. I have C# application and I'm using MySQL database. Everything seems to be fine except one thing. Our computer network is little bit unstable. When I'm trying to execute query and the computer simultaneously loses connection to the mysql server (I'm simulating this situation by unplugging the network cable from computer which is mysql server), the program is trying to do something for long time (tens seconds). I would like to specify something like timeout which ends the query by exception or something similar. I tried to add timeout parameters to connection string but with no effect (I've used ConnectionTimeout and DefaultCommandTimeout). Is there any other way to identify lost connection after few seconds? Thank you Adam P.S. Sorry for my english, I'm not native speaker.

    How are built the magazines apps? For example Popular Science, Auto Trends and PARIS MATCH I want to build an app like this. But how do these app render the content? How the app knows where is an video, an photo, scroll views and so on? Is there any library to use, and do this easy way or do I need my own engine that renders the content? Is just an webView that loads html5, css and java script or is much more than that?
