  • ISA Web Farm and WCF service hosted in a Windows Service with basicHttpBinding

    I have created a WCF service that needs to be hosted in a Window Service because it is participating in a P2P mesh (NetPeerTcpBinding). When I tried to host the WCF Service with NetPeerTcpBinding endpoints in the IIS Service container the service wouldn't run because it turns out that the P2P binding doesn't work in IIS. I have exposed a HTTP endpoint from the WCF service hosted in a Windows Service container and I want to know if there is a way to create an ISA Web Farm that will route traffic to http endpoints on two machines each running the same WCF service in a Windows Service container.

  • Squid proxy not serving modified html content

    I'm trying to use squid to modify the page content of web page requests. I followed the upside-down-ternet tutorial which showed instructions for how to flip images on pages. I need to change the actual html of the page. I've been trying to do the same thing as in the tutorial, but instead of editing the image I'm trying to edit the html page. Below is a php script I'm using to try to do it. All jpg images get flipped, but the content on the page does not get edited.   • ASP.NET Web Service Throws 401 (unauthorized) Error

    Hi Experts, I have this .NET application to be run in an intranet environment. It is configured so that it requires Windows Authentication before you can access the website (Anonymous access is disabled). This website calls a web service (enable anonymous access) and the web service calls the DB. We do have a token-based authentication between the web application and the web service to secure the communication between them. The issue I'm facing is that when I deploy this to production, I'm having an intermittent issue whereby the communication between the web application and the web service failed. The 401 issue was thrown. This is actually working fine in our QA environment. Is this an issue with Active Directory? Or could it be an isssue with FQDN as mentioned here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;896861? The weirdest thing is that this is happening intermittently when tested in both on the server itself and a remote workstation in my client's environment. But, this is working perfectly in my environment. OS: Windows Server SP1 IIS 6 .NET 3.5 Framework Any idea about the 401 (Unauthorized) issue?? Thx for the help... This is from the log...   • UIWebView NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData doesn't actually ignore the cache

    I have a UIWebView object, with the caching-policy specified as: NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData This should ignore whatever objects are in the local cache and retrieve the latest version of a site from the web. However, after the first load of the site (10 resources in trace, HTTP GET), all subsequent loads of the site only retrieve a small subset of resources (3 resources in trace, HTTP GET). The images all appear to be loaded from some local source. I have confirmed that my sharedURLCache has a memory usage of 0 bytes, and a disk usage of 0 bytes. Whenever the process starts fresh, the full version of the site is retrieved again. This leads me to believe that these resources are being stored in an in-memory cache, but as I noted before, [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] currentMemoryUsage] returns 0. I have also tried explicitly removing the cached response for my request, but this seems to have no effect. What gives?

  • Why isn't TextBox.Text in WPF animatable?

    Ok, I have just run into something that is really catching me off-guard. I was helping a fellow developer with a couple of unrelated questions and in his project he was animating text into some TextBlock(s). So, I went back to my desk and recreated the project (in order to answer his questions), but I accidentally used TextBox instead of TextBlock. My text wasn't animating at all! (A lot of help, I was!) Eventually, I figured out that his xaml was using TextBlock and mine was using TextBox. What is interesting, is that Blend wasn't creating key frames when I was using TextBox. So, I got it to work in Blend using TextBlock(s) and then modified the xaml by hand, converting the TextBlock(s) into TextBox(es). When I ran the project, I got the following error: InvalidOperationException: '(0)' Storyboard.TargetProperty path contains nonanimatable property 'Text'. Well, it seems as if Blend was smart enough to know that ... and not generate the key frames in the animation (it would just modify the value directly on the TextBox). +1 for Blend. So, the question became: why isn't TextBox.Text animatable? The usual answer is that the particular property you are animating isn't a DependencyProperty. But, this isn't the case, TextBox.Text is a DependencyProperty. So, now I am bewildered! Why can't you animate TextBox.Text? Let me include some xaml to illustrate the problem. Problem case: If user is having view rights on the document library but add/delete rights on a perticular subfolder(say 'subfolder') inside the document library: Menu item 'Import From REP' is not visible on root folder level as well as 'Upload' menu is also not visible. which is o.k. because user does not have AddListItems right on root folder but it is also not visible in 'subfolder' while 'Upload' menu is visible as user has add/delete rights on the 'subfolder'. did i mention a wrong value of attribute Rights(Rights="AddListItems") in the xml file?? If so, what should be the correct value? What should i do to simulate the behaviour of 'Upload' menu??(i.e. when 'Upload' menu is visible, 'Import From REP' menu is visible and when 'Upload' menu is not visible 'Import From REP' menu is also not visible. ) Thanks in advance Anoop

  • A better way of converting Codepage-1251 in RTF to Unicode

    I am trying to parse RTF (via MSEDIT) in various languages, all in Delphi 2010, in order to produce HTML in unicode. Taking Russian/Cyrillic as my starting point I find that the overall document codepage is 1252 (Western) but the Russian parts of the text are identified by the charset of the font (RUSSIAN_CHARSET 204). So far I am: 1) Use AnsiString (or RawByteString) when parsing the RTF 2) Determine the CodePage by a lookup from the font charset (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc194829.aspx) 3) Translating using a lookup table in my code: (This table generated from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/goglobal/cc305144.aspx) - I'm going to need one table per supported codepage! There MUST be a better way than this? Preferably something supplied by the OS and so less brittle than tables of constants.

    I have a scenario where I have single entry point Servlet and further Servlets that requests are forwarded to that undertake heavy processing. I am looking at options to distribute this load and I would like to know if it is possible using Tomcat or another platform to forward requests between Servlets sitting on different servers using a cluster type configuration or similar.     I am trying to use the bing Phonebook search for locations in China, but all the latitude and longitude are inaccurate. Using the following http://api.bing.net/xml.aspx?AppId=appid&Query=nike&Sources=Phonebook&Latitude=39.9883699&Longitude=116.3309665&Radius=30.0&Phonebook.Count=10&Phonebook.Offset=30 I get multiple locations with the same latitude and longitude, and the rounding is off as well. The latitude and longitude will always end with either .x00001 or .0. The results from the pho:LocalSerpUrl http://www.bing.com/shenghuo/default.aspx?what=nike&where=&s_cid=ansPhBkYp01&ac=false&FORM=SOAPGN /pho:LocalSerpUrl Is right, but the results from the returned xml is off. Also it seems users outside of China can't hit that url and get the result. So I am wondering how I can contact bing and inquire about this problem

Now, I want to post XML data to it (without using key/value pairs) using command line curl. I have tried many variations of the following: curl -H "Content-type: text/xml; charset=utf-8" --data-urlencode "<foo><bar>bazinga</foo></bar>" http://example.com/foo.php Yet none of them seem to actually post anything — according to the PHP script, $_POST is just an empty array. What am I doing wrong here?

  • Stretching width correctly to 100% of an inline-block element in IE6 and IE7

    I have the following markup, where I am attempting to get the right hand side of the second table to align with the right hand side of the heading above it. This works in IE8, Firefox and Chrome, but in IE6/7 the table is incorrectly stretched to fill the width of the page. I'm using the Trip Switch hasLayout trigger to apply inline-block in IE6/7. Does anyone know how (or even if) I can get the table only to fill the natural width of the wrapper element displayed with inline-block in IE6/7? But: A) if this module is invoked for non-asp.net application, then how or why would HttpApplication object still be created, since non-asp.net apps don’t run in the context of CLR ( and thus Asp.Net runtime also won’t run )? b) Assuming HttpApplication object is also created for non-asp.net apps, why then does the code inside Init() event handler have to check for whether HttpApplication object actually exists? Why wouldn’t it exist? Isn’t this HttpApplication object which actually instantiates Http module instance?     Goal: download a zipped file, unzip it, and save it in the iPhone app's Documents directory. The following code makes use of the initWithGzippedData method that was added to NSData in the Molecule app found here: http://www.sunsetlakesoftware.com/molecules As adapted to my app: NSString *sFolder = [NSHomeDirectory() stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"Documents"]; NSString *sFileName = [sFolder stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"MyFile.db"]; NSURL *oURL = [NSURL URLWithString: @"http://www.isystant.com/Files/MyFile.zip"]; NSData *oZipData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL: oURL]; NSData *oData = [[NSData alloc] initWithGzippedData:oZipData]; [oZipData release]; b = [oData writeToFile:sFileName atomically:NO]; NSLog(@"Unzip %i", b); Result: A zip file is successfully downloaded. From it a new, supposedly unzipped file is created in the Documents directory with the desired name (MyFile.db) but it has zero bytes. Anybody see the problem? Or else is there a simpler way to unzip a downloaded file than the one used in the Molecules app?

    I have a domain on my server (on its own virtualhost), e.g. domain.com, which has a lot of subdomains with content on it. sub1.domain.com sub2.domain.com This virtualhost looks like this: ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName domain.com ServerAlias *.domain.com DocumentRoot /var/www/domain.com/public_html/ I want to put other domains on the server and have each of them link to a specific subdomain on domain.com. I don't want it to redirect. I want a similar behavior as the [L,PT] flags on mod rewrite.     Hi , I need to query a locations WOEID and grab the WOEID value from the xml returned. So the user would type e.g. London, UK and I need to load the query as below: http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql?q=select%20woeid%20from%20geo.places%20where%20text%20%3D%20%22London%2C%20UK%2C%20UK%22&format=xml After which I need to grab the WOEID value from the XML content returned. I know this can be done when HTML content is returned as this link shows - http://ajaxian.com/archives/using-yql-as-a-proxy-for-cross-domain-ajax Is there a way to use similar code to query the XML data returned?   • Cannot connect to TFS after adding domain controller Windows Server 2008

    Hey Guys- Just added a domain controller to my server that is running tfs as well. And I believe Ive really "mucked" tfs now. Before it was configured to run at HTTP://CHICAGO:8080. It looks like I need to reconfigure TFS, I am just unsure how. I can still access Sharepoint Central Administration. However when I try to get at the ServiceStatus.asmx for TFS I get 'Service is unavailable' using http://chicago:8080/. This is confusing because of the DC though, the name should be changed to chicago.myrealtybrrand.com One of my coleagues who is our resident TFS guru claims that you cannot run TFS on the same machine with a domain controller installed. Any ideas for me?

    I have a site where I'm using hash based parameters, eg. http://url.of.site/#param1=123 What I want When the user manually changes the URI to eg. http://url.of.site/#param1=789 When the user enters this URI, the event is caught by the JavaScript, and the appropriate functions are called. Basically, what I'm wondering about is; is there an event listener for this? Or would I have to periodically check the URI to see if it has been changed? I'm already using the current jQuery API, if that helps. _L

    I'm trying to create a basic WCF Service and Silverlight client. I've followed the following tutorial: http://channel9.msdn.com/shows/Endpoint/Endpoint-Screencasts-Creating-Your-First-WCF-Client/ Since Silverlight 4 was incompatible with the WSHttpBinding, I changed it to BasicHttpBinding. Unfortunately I keep getting this error now: "An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI'**'.This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent." I placed clientaccesspolicy.xml in the root directory of the WCF project (which is in the same solution as the Silverlight client). This did not solve the problem. What do I need to do?

    Hello, I would like to convert the following Java program to a MapReduce job. I have read about MapReduce and feel like this would be a good problem to solve using it, but I cannot figure out what to do. I posted this on Rentacoder several days ago, because I wanted to pay someone to convert it for me. But no one on rentacoder seems to know mapreudce!
