• Need Help on a custom HTML Helper

  I'm trying to create a custom HTML Helper to help simplify my masterpages menu, however it is not rendering on the HTML when I use it.. I'm thinking I will need to create a partial view, any ideas? • How can I handle events within my custom control?

To view the results I put them into DataGridView object and there is my problem. Depending on the data contained in the last column I want to mark the cells on the appropriate colors. And I don't know if I should do this on the DataGridView object because this is user interfaces? Where I can do this? DataTable object doesn't have a style properties? Thanks a lot...

• How to customize pickle for django model objects

  I need to pickle a complex object that refers to django model objects. The standard pickling process stores a denormalized object in the pickle. So if the object changes on the database between pickling and unpickling, the model is now out of date. (I know this is true with in-memory objects too, but the pickling is a convenient time to address it.) So what I'd like is a way to not pickle the full django model object. Instead just store its class and id, and re-fetch the contents from the database on load. Can I specify a custom pickle method for this class? I'm happy to write a wrapper class around the django model to handle the lazy fetching from db, if there's a way to do the pickling.

These are the details of the error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "WSS_Content_8887ac57951146a290ca134778ddc3f8" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. Does anyone have any idea why this error happens? Why does the web service run fine inside Visual Studio 2008, but not when running stand-alone? I checked and in both cases, the username variable has the same value (domain\myusername). Thank you very much.

  I'm intialising a HashSet like so in my program: Set<String> namesFilter = new HashSet<String>(); Is this functionally any different if I initilise like so? HashSet<String> namesFilter = new HashSet<String>(); I've read this about the collections interface, and I understand interfaces (well, except their use here). I've read this excerpt from Effective Java, and I've read this SO question, but I feel none the wiser. Is there a best practice in Java, and if so, why? My intuition is that it makes casting to a different type of Set easier in my first example. But then again, you'd only be casting to something that was a collection, and you could convert it by re-constructing it.

• How to Use Grizzly Embedded Server for Mule as Well as Jersey

  I'm currently using JerseyTest w/ Grizzly embedded server to test some code. I do some very simple configuration to point it to the proper resources: Map<String, String> initParams = new HashMap<String, String>(); initParams.put("com.sun.jersey.config.property.packages", "com.sample.service"); ApplicationDescriptor appDescriptor = new ApplicationDescriptor(); appDescriptor.setServletInitParams(initParams); super.setupTestEnvironment(appDescriptor); This works fine and the Jersey components are available and working as expected. I'm now trying to add some Mule functionality to some of these Jersey calls, but Mule is not being properly initialized/configured by Grizzly. Has anyone gotten this kind of setup running? What additional configuration do I need to do with JerseyTest/GrizzlyWebServer to get it to initialize Mule properly?

  I'm wondering how to convert a List of one type to an array of another type in Java using Dozer. The two types have all the same property names/types. For example, consider these two classes. public class A{ private String test = null; public String getTest(){ return this.test } public void setTest(String test){ this.test = test; } } public class B{ private String test = null; public String getTest(){ return this.test } public void setTest(String test){ this.test = test; } } I've tried this with no luck. List<A> listOfA = getListofAObjects(); Mapper mapper = DozerBeanMapperSingletonWrapper.getInstance(); B[] bs = mapper.map(listOfA, B[].class); I've also tried using the CollectionUtils class. CollectionUtils.convertListToArray(listOfA, B.class) Neither are working for me, can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? The mapper.map function works fine if I create two wrapper classes, one containing a List and the other a b[]. See below: public class C{ private List<A> items = null; public List<A> getItems(){ return this.items; } public void setItems(List<A> items){ this.items = items; } } public class D{ private B[] items = null; public B[] getItems(){ return this.items; } public void setItems(B[] items){ this.items = items; } } This works oddly enough...   I'm writing a web crawler for a specific site. The application is a VB.Net Windows Forms application that is not using multiple threads - each web request is consecutive. However, after ten successful page retrievals every successive request times out. It seems strange that it always happens after ten consecutive requests. Notes: In the constructor for the class in which this method resides I have the following: ServicePointManager.DefaultConnectionLimit = 100 If I set KeepAlive to true, the timeouts begin after five requests. All the requests are for pages in the same domain. EDIT I added a delay between each web request of between two and seven seconds so that I do not appear to be "hammering" the site or attempting a DOS attack. However, the problem still occurs.

• CComPtr CoCreateInstance returns 0x80070582 (Class already exists.)

  I have a StartComObjects function called when the user presses the Login button and a StopComObjects function called when the user presses the Cancel button. The StartComObjects function uses CComPtr.CoCreateInstance to create the COM object and sets up some connection points using AfxConnectionAdvise. When the user presses the Cancel button the connection points are disconnected using AfxConnectionUnadvise and the COM object is stopped before calling Release on the CComPtr. When I press the login button a second time the CComPtr.CoCreateInstance returns 0x80070582 (Class already exists). This prevents the COM object from being created on the second call to StartComObjects. I am not sure why this isn't working. Shouldn't CComPtr::Release free the COM object and allow me to create a new one after the old one was stopped? Is there any way to get around this?

  I'm in xcode debugging my iphone application. when i get to a break point and I roll over my object and properties of that object say "out of scope" instead of their respective values. Here's what I do: I have inited a view with nib name (initwithnibname). Then set the property of that view to the object that I want. I have placed the breakpoint in the viewwillappear method. I rollover my reference to the variable that was is my property. All properties in the object say "out of scope" Does anyone know why this is happening?

  I'm switching from scala 2.7 and ordered to scala 2.8 and using ordering. It looks quite straight forward but I was wondering could I make it a little less verbose. • Access external xml using xslt document function return 401

  On MOSS2007, I have a webpart that display the content of a xml feed. I use a xslt with parameters for transforamtions. There is a situation when I receive a 401 Authorisation exception. I realize that this happen when a document() function from my xslt try to open an external xml. If I try to open this xml in browser all work ok. I provided my admin credentials to the web part and to the XmlSecureResolver. Same problem. The webpart is on server1 and the xml feed and external xml required by xslt is on server2. • Java MVC - How to divide a done text game into MVC?

  Been sitting here for hours now trying to figure this out, so a bit sympathy for this large question. :) The Goal: I simply want to divide my done code into MVC (Model View Controller) parts. I have the game logics done and text based - the code works fine. The Problem: Well, I want to implement this code into MVC, but where do explain for the MODEL that it should use text-based? Because the VIEW is only for the layout (graphically) correct? I am having a REALLY hard time figuring out where to begin at all. Any pointers would be so nice! • A tool or framework extension or code snippet for logging the internal state of objects?

  When spiking on how something works or when my unit test behave in an unpredictable manner I usually have to drop into debug mode. 99% of my time in debug mode is spent checking the values of fields on objects to verify its state. I already have log4net set up, it would seem that if I could easily add a line of code to log out the state of objects I could remove most of my need to start up the bulky debugger. The problem is of course that to expose object state implicitly you need to manually override each object's ToString() method. What I would like to be able to do is the ability to do logger.LogState(someObject) and have logged out the object state including at least a formatted list of all the private variables, references (to some arbitrary depth), and collections. Does anyone know a tool/framework/code snippet that can be used to generate a string of the internal state of any object? I could of course write one myself but its a non-trivial problem and I'd prefer something someone has put some thought into.
