• How do I configure Reverse Group Membership Maintenance on an openldap server? (memberOf)

  I am currently working on integrating LDAP authentication into a system and I would like to restrict access based on LDAP group. The only way to do this is via a search filter and therefore I believe my only option to be the use of the "memberOf" attribute in my search filter. It is my understanding that the "memberOf" attribute is an operational attribute which can be created by the server for me anytime a new "member" attribute is created for any "groupOfNames" entry on the server. My main goal is to be able to add a "member" attribute to an existing "groupOfNames" entry and have a matching "memberOf" attribute be added to the DN I provide. What I have managed to achieve so far: I'm still pretty new to LDAP administration but based on what I found in the openldap admin's guide, it looks like Reverse Group Membership Maintence aka "memberof overlay" would achieve exactly the effect I am looking for. My server is currently running a package installation (slapd on ubuntu) of openldap 2.4.15 which uses "cn=config" style runtime configuration. Most of the examples I have found still reference the older "slapd.conf" method of static configuration and I have tried my best to adapt the configurations to the new directory based model. This is part of the behavior I would expect. While I believe the following should have been accomplished with the memberof overlay, I still do not know how to do the following and I would gladly welcome any advice: Add a "member" attribute to an EXISTING "groupOfNames" and have a corresponding "memberOf" attribute be created automatically. Remove a "member" attribute and have the corresponding "memberOf" attribute" be removed automatically.

• Creating a password-protected task in Windows 7

  I would like to configure a task like "child control software", so it would hibernate the pc at certain times. Is it possible to prevent modification (here: pausing) of a task through requiring the entering of the admin password to modify, EVEN THOUGH the currently-logged-in (and only) user is the admin account itself? (Do you know of any child control software that does NOT require an additional account yet is able to hibernate the system at certain times?) Thanks a lot!

  Our corp site lives on top of Joomla 1.5.3. In order to secure the administrative access, we implemented a redirect that when asking for the admin login page, you are redirected to the same URL, via SSL (http://site/administrator -- https://site/administrator ) Everything seems to work just fine, login and admin session is encrypted, but when running the extPlorer extension, the left sidebar loads, the main frame sticks at "Loading..." for ever. Removing SSL redirection works fine, but isn't what we desire.

• Django doesn't refresh my request object when reloading the current page.

  I have a Django web site which I want ot be viewable in different languages. Until this morning everything was working fine. Here is the deal. I go to my say About Us page and it is in English. Below it there is the change language button and when I press it everything "magically" translates to Bulgarian just the way I want it. On the other hand I have a JS menu from which the user is able to browse through the products. I click on 'T-Shirt' then a sub-menu opens bellow the previously pressed containing different categories - Men, Women, Children. The link guides me to a page where the exact clothes I have requested are listed. BUT... When I try to change the language THEN, nothing happens. I go to the Abouts Page, change the language from there, return to the clothes catalog and the language is changed... I will no paste some code. You don't have to understand it or even look at all of it. I've published it just in case because I really can't understand the origins of the bug. Now this is how I have narrowed the problem. I am debuging with "raise Exception(request)" every time I want to know what's inside my request object. When I place this in my aboutUs method, the language cookie value changes every time I press the language button. But NOT when I am in the displayClothes method. There the language stays the same. Also I tried putting the exception line in the beginning of the @base method. It turns out the situation there is exactly the same. When I am in my About Us page and click on the button, the language in my request object changes, but when I press the button while in the catalog page it remains unchanged. That is all I could find, and I have no idea as to how Django distinguishes my pages and in what way. P.S. The JavaScript I think works perfectly, I have tested it in multiple ways. • jQuery trigger uploadify click event not working in firefox FF

  I want to select an option on a drop down box and for this to trigger the uploadify available to jQuery which lets you upload a file. My solution works in IE7 but not FF. When you change the drop down it should show a window to browse for a file to upload. In FF nothing appears. In IE everything works. • ASP.NET MVC 2 RC 2 returns Area-specific controller when no area specified

  I have a basic MVC 2 (RC2) site with one base-level controller ("Home"), and one area ("Admin") with one controller ("Abstract"). When i call http://website/Abstract - the Abstract controller in the Admin area gets called even though i haven't specified the Area in the URL. To make matters worse - it doesn't seem to know it's under Admin because it can't find the associated view and just returns: The view 'Index' or its master was not found.   Hi all, I am building a database as a simple exercise, it could be hosted on any database server, so I am trying to keep things as much standard as possible. Basically what I would like to do is a 'code' table that get referenced by other entities. I explain: xcode id code r role p property code r admin r staff p title .... then I would like to have some view like: role (select * from code where xcode='r') r admin r staff property (select * from code where xcode='p') p title then, suppose we have an entity myentity id - 1 role - admin (foreign key to role) title - title (foreign key to property) Obviously I cannot create foreign key to a view, but this is to tell the idea I have in mind. How can I reflect such behaviour using whenever possible, standard sql syntax, then as a second option, database additional features like trigger ecc... ? Because if I tell that role and title in myentity are foreign key to 'code', instead of the views, nothing would stop me to insert a role in title field. thanks Leonardo

• Not able to recieve mails in my mailbox

  Hi, I've configured google apps (google services) to my domain for access mails some thing like mail.mysite.com. I've configured successfully all the accounts include admin and users also. But here the surpricing thing is I cant able to recieve any mails when i sent mails to [email protected]. But I can able to send mails from the same account ([email protected])to any other email ids. Anybody know the reason? I'm working on the same thing from the week. Thanks in advance

  I'm using Dynamic Data and LINQ to SQL for some admin pages on a .NET 3.5 web app. All my admin tables a CreatedBy, CreatedDate, UpdatedBy, and UpdatedDate. I'm looking for a way to inject the setting of these properties before the objects are inserted and updated. I've seen an object_inserting hook if you have a linq to sql datasource in the web form, but I'm using dynamic data...is there an easy way to generically set that? And I've also looked at modifying each of the partial classes for my admin objects, but the closest hook I see is to implement the OnValidate method with the Insert action. Any suggestions? TIA.

• Testing install procedure of a program requiring administrative privileges

  I'm trying to write automated test, to ensure that the installer for my program works okay. The program can be installed for all users (requires admin privs), or for current user (does not require admin privs). The program can also autoupdate itself, which in some cases requires admin privileges, and in some cases doesn't. I'm looking for a way where I can have an automated test click "Yes, Allow" on the UAC dialogs, so I can write tests for all different scenarios, on many different operating systems, so that I can be confident when I make changes to the installer that I didn't break anything. Obviously, the installer process itself cannot do this. However, I control the complete machine, and could easily start some sort of daemon process with administrative rights, that the testprogram could make a socket connection to, to request it to "please click ok on the UAC now".

  Hello everyone, I have a question about ruby on rails and the process of assigning variables using the params variable passed through a form class User attr_accessible :available_to_admins, :name end Let's say that I have a field that is only available to my admins. Assuming that you are not an admin, I am going to not display the available_to_admins input in your form. After that, when I want to save your data I'll just do a: User.update_attributes(params[:user]) If you are an admin, then no problem, the params[:user] is going to contain name and available_tu_admins and if you're not then only your name. Since the available_to_admins is an attr_accessible parameter, how should I prevent non admin users from being able to inject a variable containing the available_to_admins input with their new value?

• SSH Password/User problem with Cygwin sshd service

  hello I just set up SSHd through Cygwin on a Windows XP Pro box overseas using a RAT and discluded the openssh package from the install. I ran the cywin shell (from c:\cywin) and ran Now, It's under a port I know is safe and fowarded properly, but I won't share it's number. It's not a common port, but it's under 40000. Firewalls are off etc etc. I'm on the first Admin account made on the box. (It's full admin) I've run the following commands chmod +r /etc/passwd chmod +r /etc/group hmod 777 /var /*Created New Admin User Account To Be Used via SSH*/ mkpasswd -cl > /etc/passwd mkgroup --local > /etc/group I can connect locally, but not externally. I know my ports etc are fine. Any possible problems, as i really need this tunnel up :P
