  • Seemingly normal link does not work in MVC, IIS5, SparkView.

    I have a regular link being generated in MVC1.0 as: /Login/Logout This link does not work. The code for it is: <a href="${Links.Logout}" class="SignOut">Sign out</a> As I am using SparkView. I am using IIS5.1 on WinXP Pro. I cannot work out why the link on the page calls the MVC action if I open the link in a separate browser tab but not when I click directly on it in the original page. This feels like a browser bug (Chrome, Firefox, IE8) but they all perform the same way. Thanks, Matt.

    I'm developing a website that publishes scientific articles, not as PDF but as HTML. As a input tool for the editorial team, we use TinyMCE for normal text plus a couple of custom plugins for footnotes and citations. But we are not really happy with TinyMCEs table controls. Everything but the most simple tables take way to long to write. Are there any specialized table editing tools for the browser out there?

    I'm using the .net ajaxtoolkit control AutoCompleteExtender. It works great but my firefox autocomplete overrides the values that the extender is returning (the firefox one lays on top of the control's). is there a way to disable the browser's version of autocomplete so that the .net one takes precendence?

  • Techniques for Visualizing Data

    I'm looking into providing several methods of visualizing a large volume of data. This may include, but will not be limited to, simple graphing. The techniques I'm exploring will involve shapes, text and lines. It will also involve interaction with elements (hiding, focusing, etc.) and animation (shifting, dragging, systematic reorganizing, etc.) of those elements. SVG or Canvas seem like the obvious choices (in conjunction with a JS library--probably jQuery), but the lack of cross-browser availability is a concern. I'd prefer to avoid Flash/Flex, but right now it's the only rock solid, cross-browser technology I've found if support for IE7/8 is a requirement. Does anyone have any other suggestions or any additional information that would make a technology I've listed seem even more appealing? Thanks.

    I am trying to make my own website and it was coming along quite nicely. It looked beautiful in Firefox when opened and worked wonderfully. But then I run it in any other browser and it does not work. How can I fix this?   • Editing a BrowserField's History

    I have a BrowserField in my app, which works great. It intercept NavigationRequests to links on my website which go to external sites, and brings up a new windows to display those in the regular Browser, which also works great. The problem I have is that if a user clicks a link to say "www.google.com", my app opens that up in a new browser, but also logs it into the BrowserHistory. So if they click back, away from google, they arrive back at my app, but then if they hit back again, the BrowserHistory would land them on the same page they were on (Because going back from Google doesn't move back in the history) I've tried to find a way to edit the BrowserField's BrowserHistory, but this doesn't seem possible. Short of creating my own class for logging the browsing history, is there anything I can do? If I didn't do a good job explaining the problem, don't hesitate for clarification. Thanks

For ex : -moz-border-radius: 12px; /* FF1+ */ -webkit-border-radius: 12px; /* Saf3+, Chrome */ border-radius: 12px; /* Opera 10.5, IE 9 */ It means, that I have to add 3 styles for this radius border, doesn't it ?

  • css footer position stick to bottom of browser?

    Hi css experts I'm having a problem with my site http://artygirl.co.uk/pixie/about/ I can't seem to get the footer to automatically stick to the bottom of the browser, and show the rest of my background. The problem is this way: When i close my page on some browser i want an message box to appear and to ask me if I really want to close the page or not. logically: click on x (close tab on web browser) and than the box appears with two buttons yes and now, if i click yes the page will be closed if i click no the page will not close. I know there must be some javascript or ajax code but i can not configure it by my self.

My problem is that the data in Mb is about 4Mb and it takes quite a while to decompress in the application (after downloading it every time). Because of the nature of this particular application, I believe it would benefit greatly from a web-based approach (i.e., allowing a user to interface with the application through a browser running in kiosk mode) in order to leverage the simplicity of HTML/CSS/JS and the availability of many great JS interface plugins. Does taking this approach (rather than coding in a native or cross-platform graphics library) come with any gotchas?

    I'm trying to get a page to refresh when navigated to from the back button. From what I understand after reading around a bit I should just need to mark the page as uncacheable but I can't get any browsers to refresh the page.
