  • VPN Client solution

    I have several VPN's that I need to establish on a daily basis but from multiple workstations. What I would like to do it have either a server or vpn router that can perform this connection itself and that I can then route traffic through this device or server depending on the subnet I am trying to reach. The issue is that I only use VPN Clients to connect, so I am basically trying to achieve almost a site to site VPN but by using basically a VPN Client type connection from my network. The main VPN Client I use is the Sonicwall Global VPN Client where I initially use a Preshared Key and then it always prompts me for a username and password (not RSA key). My question is, is there any type of linux distro or even a hardware vpn router that can do this and connect to a Sonicwall device as if it were a client? I have tried pfSense which is very good but it fails to connect, probably due to a mismatch of settings. I have tried many others. Even dd-wrt on my router but it does not support whatever protocol Sonicwall uses. (I thought L2TP/IPSec) but it appears it may not be that. Any advice would be great! The other other thing I have thought of that I have not tried yet is Windows Server Routing and Remote Access but I have a feeling that won't work either. Thanks

  • Having trouble mapping Sharepoint document library as a Network Place

    I am using Office 365, Sharepoint Online 2013. Using Internet Explorer these are the steps I have taken: ticked the keep me signed in on the portal.microsoftonline.com page. It redirects me to Godaddy login page because Office 365 was purchased through them. I have added these sites to trusted sites (as well as every page in the process) and chose auto logon in Internet explorer. Once on the document library I open as explorer and copy the address as text. I go to My Computer and right click to add a network place and paste in the document library address. It successfully adds the library as a network place 30% of the time. I can do this same process 3 times in a row and it will fail the first 2 times and then succeeds. It works for a little while and then I get an error that the DNS cannot be found. I need multiple users in our organization to be able to access this document library as if it was a mapped network drive on our local network. Is there an easier way to do this? I may just sync using the One Drive app but thought that direct access to the files without worrying about users keeping their files synced.

  • Actor library / framework for C++

    In the C++ project I am working for we would like to use something like Scala actors and remote actors (see e.g. this tutorial). Being able to use remote actors (actors living in different processes, possibly on different machines and communicating via TCP/IP) has higher priority for us because we have an application consisting of several processes deployed on different machines. Being able to use several actors living in the same process (possibly different threads) is also interesting, but has lower priority for the moment. On wikipedia I have found some links to actor libraries for C++ and I have started to look at Theron. Before I dive too deep into the details and build an extended example with Theron, I wanted to ask if anybody has experience with any of these libraries and which one they would recommend.

  • Is it possible to have nested libraries in Windows 7?

    My goal is this: I have a library, say it's called Series. I store my series in two different places, one for watched episodes and one for unwatched episodes. Obviously I can simply add the root folder of each location to a series library. What I would prefer to do is have a sub-library within Series for each series, for example: Series \ Lost Lost (Unwatched series) Episode 3 Episode 4 Lost (Watched series) Episode 1 Episode 2 Is there a way to achieve this, or something approximating this (without having a full library for each series)? P.S. I've read the other topic, but I was wondering if there was a possible workaround for this specific need. More out of hope than anything else. ;)

  • Cannot access any remote resource after connecting to Cisco VPN on Vista

    I have installed Cisco vpn client version 5.0.07.0290 on Vista Business SP2. I am able to successfully connnect to the vpn. But after connecting I am not able to access any resource in the vpn (like database, other computers in the network etc.). I have tried the following without any success : Older versions of the client Other vpn clients like Shrewsoft : same issue as the cisco vpn client Disabled Internet Connection Sharing service Installed the client in the root administrator account Run the installer as administrator Run the vpngui and ipsecdialer in XP compatibility mode and as administrator I am not sure how to troubleshoot this issue. Can somebody please help me in troubleshooting this issue? P.S : I've Zonealarm firewall, can that be an issue?

  • make IIS 7.5 cache static content files over diferent pages

    On a Windows 2008 R2, using DNS and IIS I've established my development test server; i.e. I'll have a web application that I can browse on http://test.dev I've moved all the static content files like images, js files and css files into another application which is visible on http://cdn.test.dev test.dev, uses cdn.test.dev urls like http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js to load js, css and images. When I first load "~/" of test.dev, all files will load with a response code of 200; when I press F5 in Firefox, all files, except the "~/default.aspx", will load with 304 response code; but pressing Ctrl+F5 loads them again with a 200 code; if I browse another url like "~/pages/" in test.dev, all of those static files will reload with a 200 code... Is this normal or I'm doing something wrong? Actually, I'm looking for a behavior like this: I want the client to load http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js, only once. I want the client's browser to use this jquery.js file, from cache, in all other pages of test.dev Is this possible?     One of the things that I have been pestering the SQL team to do is to name their updates according to what is contained in them. For example, instead of just: sqlncli.msi What I'd prefer is that the file was called something like: SQLServerNativeClient2k8SP1CU3x64.msi So I normally rename them as soon as I receive them, to avoid confusion in future.     I'm using FreeImage in C++ for loading texuture from the PCX image. My FreeImage code is as following: FREE_IMAGE_FORMAT fif = FIF_UNKNOWN; //pointer to the image data BYTE* bits(0); fif = FreeImage_GetFileType(m_fileName.c_str(), 0); if (FreeImage_FIFSupportsReading(fif)) dib = FreeImage_Load(fif, m_fileName.c_str()); //retrieve the image data bits = FreeImage_GetBits(dib); //get the image width and height width = FreeImage_GetWidth(dib); height = FreeImage_GetHeight(dib); My problem is the width and height variable are both 512, while the bits array is an empty string, which make the following OPENGL call corrupt: glTexImage2D(m_textureTarget, 0, GL_RGB, width, height, 0, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, bits); While debugging, I notice that the "fif" variable (which contains the format of the image) is JPEG, while the Image is actually PCX. I wonder whether or not the FreeImage recognize the wrong format (from PCX to JPEG), so tha the bits array is an empty string. I hope to see your explanation about this problem. Thanks so much

    Are there any robust performant libraries for indexing objects? It would need frustum culling and visiting objects hit by a ray as well as neighbourhood searches. I can find lots of articles showing the math for the component parts, often as algebra rather than simple C, but nothing that puts it all together (apart from perhaps Ogre, which has rather more involved and isn't so stand-alone). Surely hobby game makers don't all have to make their own octrees? (Python or C/C++ w/bindings preferred)
