I'm using custom WordPress categories for some probably unintended functions, I will admit (things like marking a post no/index just by adding it to my custom "no-index" category, etc). But it sucks that WordPress does not enable pages with all the little extras you get with posts. For example, while the post editor gives you convenient access to Tags, Categories, and a Post excerpt field, pages get left out in the cold. I'd like to know if its possible to add the These items to the Post editor via add_action() directive from a custom theme.

Fire only one Custom Validator at a time

I have two Custom Validators attached to a textbox. The textbox is to enter comma separated list of emails. The first validator checks that there is not duplicate email address. The second custom validator checks that all the email addresses are in valid format. I have following code and it works fine. However, when both the failure criteria is met both of them are firing and I get two * at the right side of my textbox. What is the best approach to show only one * at a time? Custom CallOut not displayed correctly in ios6?

As i want to implement the custom call out in the mkmapview i am using these classes CalloutMapAnnotationView.h and CalloutMapAnnotationView.m I have extracted these classes from the following links https://github.com/asalom/Custom-Map-Annotation-Callouts/blob/master/Classes/CalloutMapAnnotationView.h https://github.com/asalom/Custom-Map-Annotation-Callouts/blob/master/Classes/CalloutMapAnnotationView.m These work fine in ios5 but in ios6 when i am clicking on the call out the map view is moving and call out is not showing correctly as shown in the below figures while i was zooming also its not coming correctly i have tried several ways to get rid out of this problem by checking the version of os and tried to change the some of the methods in the classes but of not use. After implementing these in ios5 map view coming like this In Ios6 This one not coming properly as like in ios5. for example

jquery live() method on custom functions

I have a custom event handler, or I suppose some call it a custom jquery function. My problem is I'm trying to apply the live() method to it. But I'm not too successful. Here's a simple custom jquery function: $.fn.myFunction = function() { return $(this).addClass('changed'); } And here I use it: $('.changePlease').myFunction(); Ok, simple enough. But how do I apply the live() method to it?? I actually have no idea if that's even possible. But I do use live() for other things, like: $(".changePlease").live("click",function(){ alert("hello"); }); Any thoughts on this?

Wordpress Custom Query

I have posts that use a custom field for start date and end date. Query_posts returns an array of posts that exist in the category I'm filtering. How do I query posts using this custom field that has date i.e. 03/11/2010 and not the full array. Pagination works on the full array so it returns all posts. I can use an if else to only show the posts newer that today, then pagination doesn't work. Would I have to build a custom mysql query?

Properly Repaint a Custom Control

I am doing a custom control, that should be painted like as standard one, but also having a Icon displayed near it. So, I jet overrided OnPaint like this: protected override void OnPaint(System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs e) { base.OnPaint(e); e.Graphics.DrawIcon(theIcon, X1, Y1 - iconSize.Width / 2); } Now, everything is OK, but when my control moves, the icon still remains drawn on the ancient place. What should I add to manage it properly? In the image we can see that after moving from top to bottom the line(custom control) even is not properly redrawn. I tried to do public override void Invalidate() { base.Invalidate(); if (Parent != null) { Parent.Invalidate(new Rectangle( X1, Y1 - iconSize.Width / 2, iconSize.Width, iconSize.Height)); } } but this does not work - when changing location the Invalidate is not even called. If it matter the custom control inherits from VisualBasic.PowerPacks.LineShape component.

Hi all, for a data warehouse project I need to know about some best practices regarding custom report viewer filters/parameters. Usually I use the standard parameter feature for reports, like multiple select boxes, check boxes, text boxes etc.. But for the current project some reports require more complex report parameters. E.g. a user wants to analyze some measures. For that the user needs to set a filter on a specific address. There are over 100.000 address to choose from, so he has to have the ability to search for an address (full text). Since such features cannot be done with the standard parameters, I will have to create custom params within a ASPX page which are then passed to the report viewer control. So my question is: Are there any best practices on how to create custom parameters? Did anyone had similar problems, if so, how did you solve it?

Google Maps API v3.9: Blurry custom markers when zooming

So it appears that Google have fixed the blurry map issue with the 3.9 / 3.10 API, which is great. But there's a new one with custom markers. As soon as you zoom in one level, the custom markers become corrupted / blurry. They rectify themselves if zooming out, although the process of zooming out also makes the markers slightly blurry. The 3.8 API does not exhibit this problem with custom markers. Here's a picture illustrating the problem (I suggest you open the image in a new tab; the blurriness isn't as easily visible when the image is scaled to fit this post). The blurring is most noticeable with the straight lines of the paper crane marker: I've had a prod through the HTML, but I can't really tell how the markers are placed on the map. But I thought that I'd put this issue out there for anyone who has experienced similar, or if anyone has any thoughts on how this can be resolved, save waiting to see if it's a glitch in the API.

Custom deleters for std::shared_ptrs

Is it possible to use a custom deleter after creating a std::shared_ptr without using new? My problem is that object creation is handled by a factory class and its constructors & destructors are protected, which gives a compile error, and I don't want to use new because of its drawbacks. To elaborate: I prefer to create shared pointers like this, which doesn't let you set a custom deleter (I think): auto sp1 = make_shared<Song>(L"The Beatles", L"Im Happy Just to Dance With You"); Or I can create them like this, which does let met set a deleter through an argument: auto sp2(new Song, MyDeleterFunc); But the second one uses new, which AFAIK isn't as efficient as the top sort of allocation. Maybe this is clearer: is it possible to get the benefits of make_shared<> as well as a custom deleter? Would that mean having to write an allocator?

I am extending the System.Net.Mail.MailAddress class to include an ID field, so I created a new custom MailAddress class that inherited from the existing class and a new custom MailAddressCollection class. I then overrode the existing System.Net.Mail.MailMessage.To to use my new collection. I would like to process the recipients in parallel, but I can't get the syntax right. This is the syntax I am using. Recently I have worked with Core Data. When I want to set a default value for some fields, I came up with this problem: So I made a simple represent: We have 2 class Parent and Child, in which Child inherit from Parent. // Parent.h @interface Parent : NSObject @property (strong, nonatomic) NSString *lastName; // Child.h @interface Child : Parent In Parent class, I made a custom getter to set a default value when nothing is set: // Parent.h - (NSString *)lastName { if (_lastName) { return _lastName; } else { return @"Parent Default Name"; } } But I cannot make a custom default value for the field "name" which Child inherits from its Parent. // Child.h @implementation Child - (NSString *)lastname { if (super.lastName) { return super.lastName; } else { return @"Child Default Name"; } } Apparently, this method is never called. So my question here is: How can I set a custom getter for the field the Child class inherits from Parent without define an overriding property?

What is a Custom Class?

Many questions here on SO ask about custom classes. I, on the other hand, have no idea what they're talking about. "Custom class" seems to mean the same thing I mean when I say "class". What did I miss, back in the '80s, that keeps me from understanding? I know that it's possible to purchase a packaged system - for Accounting, ERP, or something like that. You can then customize it, or add "custom code" to make the package do things that are specific to your business. But that doesn't describe the process used in writing a .NET program. In this case, the entire purpose of the .NET Framework is to allow us to write our own code. There is nothing useful out of the box.

How can I force a ListView with a custom panel to re-measure when the ListView width goes below the

Sorry for the long winded question (I'm including background here). If you just want the question, go to the end. I have a ListView with a custom Panel implementation that I'm using to implement something similar to a WrapPanel, but not quite. I'm overriding the MeasureOverride and ArrangeOverride methods in the custom panel. If I do the naive implementation of a WrapPanel in the MeasureOverride method it doesn't work when the ListView is resized. Let's say the custom panel does a measure and the constraint is a width of 100 and let's say I have 3 items that are 40 wide each. The naive approach is to return a size of 80,80 but when I resize the window that the ListView is in, down to say 75, it just turns on the horizontal scrollbar and never calls measure or arrange again (it does keep measuring and arranging if the width is greater than 80). To get around this, I hard coded the measurement to only have a width of the widest item. Then in the arrange, it gives me more space than I asked for and I use as much horizontal space as I can before wrapping. If I resize the window smaller than the smallest item in the ListView, then it turns on the scrollbar, which is great. Unfortunately this is causing a big problem when I have one of these ListViews with a custom panel nested inside of another one. The outside one works ok, but I can't get the inside one to "take as much as it needs". It always sizes to the smallest item, and the only way around it is to set the MinWidth to be something greater than zero. Anyway, stepping back for a second, I think the real way to fix this is to go back to the Naive implementation of the WrapPanel but force it to re-measure when the ListView width goes below the Size I previously returned as a measurement. That should solve my problem with the nested one. So, that's my question: I have a ListView with a custom panel If I return a measurement width on the panel and the ListView is resized to less than that width, it stops calling MeasureOverride How can I get it to continue calling MeasureOverride?

Why does my Google maps api v3 and side panel not fill my page upon resizing?

I'm developing a web page and I have a side panel on the left with a search bar and a Google maps api v3 filling the rest of the page to the right. When I make the browser very small vertically, there is a white space between the side panel and the map, and the bottom of the browser. However, the text continues to the bottom of the browser. Hi, I'm using Linux for years and now I have to work with Windows XP at work. The problem is I don't like default shortcuts for switching keyboard input languages: [CTRL]+[SHIFT] and [ALT]+[SHIFT]. And I'd really like to change the shortcut to the one I'm using in Linux [SHIFT]+[SHIFT]. I've googled for a while, played with registry but have not found any solution. So, can I assign custom ([SHIFT]+[SHIFT]) shortcut for switching keyboard input languages? Thanks in advance, Andriy
