    RFC1123 defines a number of things, among them, the format of Dates to be used in internet protocols. HTTP (RFC2616) specifies that date formats must be generated in conformance with RFC1123. It looks like this: Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2010 02:31:05 GMT How can I generate an RFC1123 time string from C code, running on Windows? I don't have the use of C# and DateTime.ToString(). I know I could write the code myself, to emit timezones and day abbreviations, but I'm hoping this already exists in the Windows API. Thanks.

  • Domino 9 / Dojo 1.8 - Date Time Picker without default value

    I want a Date Time Picker control WITHOUT a default value. Doesn't seem to be possible anymore :-( To reproduce, create a blank XPage and place a Date Time Picker control. Open the XPage in the browser and you will see that it defaults to today. I didn't found any way to set the default to an empty value. I tried setting all properties/data/default to 0, null, empty string and so on - no luck. I tried the data-dojo-probs attribute with value:'', this sets the default to 1970-1-1, but not to blank. Any ideas?

How would I go about doing this if it's even possible? Raw sql queries are good answers too because they're pretty easy to turn into DQL.

  • ASP: using existing Crystal Report with date parameter

    I have an existing Crystal Report done in Crystal Reports version 9. I need to display it via an ASP website created in Visual Studio 2008. I have put the Crystal data source and viewer controls on the design page and configured the controls to use the crystal report but cannot seem to figure out how to pass a date to the report which uses it as an input parameter for a SQL Server 2005 stored procedure. I have tried putting a calendar control on the design page but don't know how to use it to pass the date parameter. Thanks in advance for any help. Eric

"2002-11-28T14:00:00Z" I want to just display the time portion. For which I would have to apply filter date: 'hh:mm a' I tried ng-model="labor.start_time | date: 'hh:mm a'" Please let me know how i can show only time portion in input box showin time only. I cant use span tag as the time a user can change so have to show in input tag. Thanks

  • Datepicker (1.8rc3) not transferring date in IE6

    Using jquery-1.4.2 and jquery-UI 1.8rc3, I instantiated a datepicker on a text input with showOn: 'focus'. The datepicker appears correctly. However when I click on a date, the datepicker doesn't disappear and the dateStr doesn't get transferred to the text input. I tried adding an onClose: handler that calls alert(dateStr). The event fires but no dateStr has been set. Everything works fine in Firefox. I have Microsoft Script Debugger installed but no script errors were detected.     A decade is a milestone in one’s life, regardless of when it occurs. 2011 might seem like a weird year to mark a decade, but 2001 was a defining year for me. It marked my emergence into the technology industry, an unexpected loss of innocence, and triggered an ongoing struggle with faith and belief. Once you go through a valley, climbing the mountain and looking back over where you travelled, you can take in the entirety of the journey. Over the last 10 years I kept journals, and in this new year I took some time to review them. For those today that are me a decade ago, I share with you what I’ve gleamed from my experiences. Take it for what it’s worth, and safe travels on your own journeys through life. Life is a Performance-Based Sport Have confidence, believe you’re capable, but realize that life is a performance-based sport. Everything you get in life is based on whether you can show that you deserve it. Performance is also your best defense against personal attacks. Just make sure you know what standards you’re expected to hit and if people want to poke holes at you let them do the work of trying to find them. Sometimes performance won’t matter though. Good things will happen to bad people, and bad things to good people. What’s important is that you do the right things and ensure the good and bad even out in your own life. How you finish is just as important as how you start. Start strong, end strong. Respect is Your Most Prized Reward Respect is more important than status or ego. The formula is simple: Performing Well + Building Trust + Showing Dedication = Respect Focus on perfecting your craft and helping your team and respect will come. Life is a Team Sport Whatever aspect of your life, you can’t do it alone. You need to rely on the people around you and ensure you’re a positive aspect of their lives; even those that may be difficult or unpleasant. Avoid criticism and instead find ways to help colleagues and superiors better whatever environment you’re in (work, home, etc.). Don’t just highlight gaps and issues, but also come to the table with solutions. At the same time though, stand up for yourself and hold others accountable for the commitments they make to the team. A healthy team needs accountability. Give feedback early and often, and make it verbal. Issues should be dealt with immediately, and positives should be celebrated as they happen. Life is a Contact Sport Difficult moments will happen. Don’t run from them or shield yourself from experiencing them. Embrace them. They will further mold you and reveal who you will become. Find Your Tribe and Embrace Your Community We all need a tribe: a group of people that we gravitate to for support, guidance, wisdom, and friendship. Discover your tribe and immerse yourself in them. Don’t look for a non-existent tribe just to fill the need of belonging though that will leave you empty and bitter when they don’t meet your unrealistic expectations. Try to associate with people more experienced and more knowledgeable than you. You’ll always learn, and you’ll always remember you have much to learn. Put yourself out there, get involved with the community. Opportunities will present themselves. When we open ourselves up to be vulnerable, we also give others the chance to do the same. This helps us all to grow and help each other, it’s very important. And listen to your wife. (Easter *is* a romantic holiday btw, regardless of what you may think.) Don’t Believe Your Own Press Clippings (and by that I mean the ones you write) Until you have a track record of performance to refer to, any notions of grandeur are just that: notions. You lose your rookie status through trials and tribulations, not by the number of stamps in your passport. Be realistic about your own “experience and leadership” and be honest when you aren’t ready for something. And always remember: nobody really cares about you as much as you think they do. Don’t Let Assholes Get You Down The world isn’t evil, but there is evil in the world. Know the difference and don’t paint all people with the same brush. Do be wary of those that use personal beliefs to describe their business (i.e. “We’re a [religion] company”). What matters is the culture of the organization, and that will tell you the moral compass and what is truly valued. Don’t make someone or something a priority that only makes you an option. Life is unfair and enemies/opponents will succeed when you fail. Don’t waste your energy getting upset at this; the only one that will lose out is you. As mentioned earlier, nobody really cares about you as much as you think they do. Misc Ecclesiastes is bullshit. Everything is certainly *not* meaningless. Software development is about delivery, not the process. Having a great process means nothing if you don’t produce anything. Watch “The Weatherman” (“It’s not easy, but easy doesn’t enter into grownup life.”). Read Tony Dungee’s autobiography, even if you don’t like football, and even if you aren’t a Christian. Say no, don’t feel like you have to commit right away when someone asks you to.

  • Linq, Left Join and Dates...

    So my situation is that I have a linq-to-sql model that does not allow dates to be null in one of my tables. This is intended, because the database does not allow nulls in that field. My problem, is that when I try to write a Linq query with this model, I cannot do a left join with that table anymore because the date is not a 'nullable' field and so I can't compare it to "Nothing". Example: There is a Movie table, {ID,MovieTitle}, and a Showings table, {ID,MovieID,ShowingTime,Location} Now I am trying to write a statement that will return all those movies that have no showings. In T.SQL this would look like: Select m.* From Movies m Left Join Showings s On m.ID = s.MovieID Where s.ShowingTime is Null Now in this situation I could test for Null on the 'Location' field but this is not what I have in reality (just a simplified example). All I have are non-null dates. I am trying to write in Linq: From m In dbContext.Movies _ Group Join s In Showings on m.ID Equals s.MovieID into MovieShowings = Group _ From ms In MovieShowings.DefaultIfEmpty _ Where ms.ShowingTime is Nothing _ Select ms However I am getting an error saying 'Is' operator does not accept operands of type 'Date'. Operands must be reference or nullable types. Is there any way around this? The model is correct, there should never be a null in the Showings:ShowTime table. But if you do a left join, and there are no show times for a particular movie, then ShowTime SHOULD be Nothing for that movie... Thanks everyone for your help.

The question is I want to know if there is a better/standard/faster way to check if current "time" is between two time values given in hh:mm:ss format. For example, my big business logic should not run between 18:00:00 and 18:30:00. I think I have a solution that only uses standard Java, but I was wondering if anyone knew of anything more concise or efficient.     Loving Zend Framework, hating Zend_Date... I'm buidling an app where one of the functions is to track the time one spends on a certain task. This works great. My previous question was my incapability to get the sum of all the timestamps (time spent on each task). Well that works as a charm, but when I echo this value, it adds one hour. Using gmdate() (just for checking) and the value turns out exactly as it's supposed to. I thought to solve this problem easeliy with Zend_Local, but I can't get the damn thing to work! This is my bootstrap code: protected function _initLocale() { $locale = new Zend_Locale('nl_NL'); $locale->setLocale($locale); Zend_Registry::set('Zend_Locale', $locale); } This is the code in my view file: $date = new Zend_Date($this->timequery, null, $locale); echo $date->toString(Zend_Date::HOUR.':'.Zend_Date::MINUTE.':'.Zend_Date::SECOND); The timestamp I'm processing is: 2632 which equals 00:43:52. The output I get is: 01:43:52 I know the extra hour comes from the time difference, but I can seem to solve this with Zend_Local and Zend_Date.

The problem is that sometimes the room may not "check in" at the 15 minute interval time, so the assumption has to be made that the previous last known user count is still valid. For example the check-in's for 2012-08-03 14:15:00 room 4 never checked in, so it must be assumed that room 4 had 3 users at 2012-08-03 14:15:00 because that is what it had at 2012-08-03 14:00:00 This follows on through so that the average user count I am looking for is as follows: Room 1: (2 + 3 + 6 + 3) / 4 = 3.5 Room 2: (3 + 4 + 4 + 7) / 4 = 4.5 Room 3: (1 + 1 + 1 + 8) / 4 = 2.75 Room 4: (3 + 3 + 3 + 4) / 4 = 3.25 where # is the assumed number based on the previous known check-in.
