• my server suddenly crashes every 2 days or so. Programmer has no idea, please help find the cause, here is the top

  Every couple of days my server suddenly crashes and I must request hardware reset at data center to get it back running. Today I came back to my shell and saw the server was dead and "top" was running on it, and see below for the "top" right before the crash. I opened /var/log/messages and scrolled to the reboot time and see nothing, no errors prior to the hard reboot. (I checked in /etc/syslog.conf and I see "*.info;mail.none;authpriv.none;cron.none /var/log/messages" , isn't this good enough to log all problems?) Usually when I look at the top, the swap is never used up like this! I also don't know why mysqld is at 323% cpu (server only runs drupal and its never slow or overloaded). Solver is my application. I don't know whats that 'sh' doing and 'dovecot' doing. • [OpenGL ES - Android] Better way to generate tiles

  Hi ! I'll start by saying that i'm REALLY new to OpenGL ES (I started yesterday =), but I do have some Java and other languages experience. I've looked a lot of tutorials, of course Nehe's ones and my work is mainly based on that. As a test, I started creating a "tile generator" in order to create a small Zelda-like game (just moving a dude in a textured square would be awsome :p). I've read things about Vertex Buffer Object and DisplayList but I couldn't find a good tutorial and nodoby seems to be OK on wich one is the best / has the better support (T1 and Nexus One are ages away).   I just upgraded to snow leopard. • Boost Regex unknown number of var

  I got a Problem with a regex expression and need help. I have some expressions like these in mein .txt File: 19 = NAND (1, 19) regex expression : http://rubular.com/r/U8rO09bvTO With this regex expression i got seperated matches for the numbers. But now I need a regex expression with a unknown size of numbers in the bracket . For example: 19 = NAND (1, 23, 13, 24) match1: 19 match2: 1 match3: 23 match4: 13 match5: 24 I don't know the number of the numbers. So i need a main expression for min 2 numbers in the bracket till a unknow number. I hope somebody can help me.

However, the rails 3 environment.rb looks way different (there is no config code block, so putting it in arbitrarily causes an error where config is not defined). So my questions are 1) Do I actually have to put the gem config anywhere? I looked at https://github.com/trevmex/authlogic_rails3_example/ and it seems he didn't put it anywhere. 2) Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong in terms of rspec? • Getting started with zxing on android

  Hi I'm trying to add zxing to my project (add a button which calls the scanner upon press).   ifstream::tellg() is returning -13 for a certain file. Basically, I wrote a utility that analyzes some source code; I open all files alphabetically, I start with "Apple.cpp" and it works perfectly.. But when it gets to "Conversion.cpp", always on the same file, after reading one line successfully tellg() returns -13. • VS2010. Dropdownlist Autopostback works in IDE, not when deployed

  I have a VS2010 RC ASP.NET web page,when a user changes the drop down selection on an auto postback dropdown, it refreshes a small grid and a few labels in various places on the page. I know wrapping a whole page in a big UpdatePanel control will cause horror from many of you, but that's what I did. I really didn't want a full page refresh and I didn't know how to update a table on the client side using Javascript and I figured it would be a big change. Suggestions for avoiding this are welcomed, but my main desire is to understand teh error I am getting. When I do the auto postbacks in the IDE, everything works fine, but if I deploy the code (IIS 5.5 on XP), the second auto postback works but the seconds one gives me his error. Ajax is one big nasty blackbox to me. Can someone help, please?   I edited my .gitconfig file to add support for LabView and it appears that I did something that Git doesn't exactly like. The problem is it (Git) doesn't tell me what it doesn't like. What did I do wrong?   I am trying to send all my apache logs to syslog-ng(on remote machine) which in turn writes to a file. so I configure syslog-ng this way source s_apache { unix-stream("/var/log/apache_log.socket" max-connections(512) keep-alive(yes)); }; filter f_apache { match("error"); }; destination df_custom { file("/var/log/custom.log"); }; log { source(s_apache); filter(f_apache); destination(df_custom); }; and add the following line to apache2.conf ErrorLog "|/usr/bin/logger -t 'apache' -u /var/log/apache_log.socket" but only logs being written to "/var/log/custom.log" are [Mon Jul 13 17:24:36 2009] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down and [Mon Jul 13 17:26:11 2009] [notice] Apache/2.2.11 (Ubuntu) configured -- resuming normal operations I want all logs to be sent to custom.log..... Please help me.... where am I going wrong?

• Zlib compression in boost::iostreams not compatible with zlib.NET

  Hello, I want to send compressed data between my C# to a C++ application in ZLIB format. In C++, I use the zlib_compressor/zlib_decompressor available in boost::iostreams. In C#, I am currently using the ZOutputStream available in the zlib.NET library. First of all, when I compress the same data using both libraries, the results look different: boost::iostreams::zlib_compressor: FF 13 49 48 00 00 01 00 01 00 00 00 63 61 60 60 F8 00 C4 C1 25 45 99 79 E9 23 87 04 00 zlib.NET (zlib.ZOutputStream): FF 13 49 48 00 00 01 00 01 00 00 00 78 9C 63 61 60 60 F8 00 C4 C1 25 45 99 79 E9 23 87 04 00 4F 31 63 8D (Note the 78 9C pattern that is present in zlib.NET, but not in boost). Furthermore, when I decompress data in boost that I compressed in zlib.NET, I am not able to read from the stream suggesting something is wrong. It does work when I try to decompress data compressed in boost. Does anybody know what is going wrong? Thank you, Johan

• Segmentation fault in strcpy

  consider the program below char str[5]; strcpy(str,"Hello12345678"); printf("%s",str); When run this program gives segmentation fault. But when strcpy is replaced with following, program runs fine. strcpy(str,"Hello1234567"); So question is it should crash when trying to copy to str any other string of more than 5 chars length. So why it is not crashing for "Hello1234567" and only crashing for "Hello12345678" ie of string with length 13 or more than 13. This program was run on 32 bit machine .

  Hi: I'm having a problem using the UITabBarController and can't seem to get anywhere... maybe someone has run into something similar. I have the typical Tab Bar + Navigation app and everything is working great, except when I access options in the More tab.
