  • Bash redirection: save stderr/stdout to different files and still print them out on a console

    Here is a simple program. class Redirection { public static void main (String args[]){ System.out.println("Hello World_Stdout"); System.err.println("Hello World_Stderr"); } } I want to see the all the outputs on a console, but at the same time I want to store stdout and stderr in different files. I tried the following command, to no avail. $java Redirection 3>&1 2>stderr 1>stdout 1>&3 2>&3 stderr& stdout files have the file size of 0. So basically I want to do what "tee" command does but I also want to capture stderr as well.

    Hi, I'm trying to run this snippet in Python 3.1 console and I'm getting SyntaxError: >>> while True: ... a=5 ... if a<6: ... break ... print("hello") File "<stdin>", line 5 print("hello") ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax >>> (This is just shortened code to make a point.) Am I missing something? Is there some other Magic I don't know about? Thanks for your help (since this is my first StackOverflow question and I'm not a native English speaker)

    Hi - Working on my first Wordpress site so I'm sure this is a really basic question. I'm struggling to write a conditional php statement that performs a certain action when a page is a child of a parent page. For example, rather than just specifying one page, as below, I'd like to specify all pages that have the 'About Us' page as a parent: <?php if (is_page('About Us')) echo 'Hello World!'; ?> I've tried the "child_of" function but it wasn't as straightforward as I'd hoped. When I use the below, I get a syntax error - probably just me not knowing how to use the function: <?php if (child_of('About Us')) echo 'Hello World!'; ?> Any suggestions? Thanks!!

The problem is that I like to have the following format on html page for better readability. <div> <% if (1 == 1) { %> Hello <% } else { %> World <% } %> </div> As you can guess, whenever you type '}' or ';' or etc, visual studio try to do the auto format and change to the following format <div> <% if (1 == 1) { %> Hello <% } else { %> World <% } %> </div> The question is "Is it possible to disable auto formatting just only for HTML pages on VS2010? (NOT for C# code, I still like to have auto formatting for C# pages)"

    I try to create php web app using GAE. In the GAE tutorial, "A script handler executes a PHP script to handle the request that matches the URL pattern. The mapping defines a URL pattern to match, and the script to be executed" Now I want to map the url with the file having same name in the folder, e.g. if the url is /hello.* , it will map the file name hello.php in the folder. And if it is /hello1.*, hello1.php in the folder will be responded to the server. I thought this should be done directly by mapping the name of the url with the name in the folder. But if I left empty for the handler in the app.yaml, I got an error. So I want to know how to set up the handler in app.yaml?

Let be friends or maybe more, but nothing less" Output: hello world Output: , i'm happy to meet you all. Output: Let be friends or maybe more Output: , but nothing less stop: no more bytes to send. the problem i have searched google, but didn't understand the examples, i spent 4 days trying find a good way, also that sendt 5 bytes at time, but in case there is less, then send them until you are at the end of the string. please help me out guys, i will accept a C or C++ way, as long it works and well explained.

    Hi, I'm trying to make an element draggable, like so: var element = $("<li id='test'>Hello</li>"); element.appendTo("#panelParent"); element.draggable("enable"); element.draggable("option", "connectToSortable", '#panelTarget'); element.draggable("option", "helper", 'clone'); element.draggable("option", "revert", 'invalid'); nothing happens when I try dragging this element. It works fine though if I embed the object in the page beforehand instead of trying to dynamically create the element. Any idea what I'm missing?
