  I'm not sure if this is an ASP.NET MVC specific thing or ASP.NET in general but here's what's happening. I have an action filter that removes whitespace by the use of a response filter: public class StripWhitespaceAttribute : ActionFilterAttribute { public StripWhitespaceAttribute () { } public override void OnResultExecuted(ResultExecutedContext filterContext) { base.OnResultExecuted(filterContext); filterContext.HttpContext.Response.Filter = new WhitespaceFilter(filterContext.HttpContext.Response.Filter); } } When used in conjunction with the OutputCache attribute, my calls to Response.WriteSubstitution for "donut hole caching" do not work. The first and second time the page loads the callback passed to WriteSubstitution get called, after that they are not called anymore until the output cache expires. I've noticed this with not just this particular filter but any filter used on Response.Filter... am I missing something? I also forgot to mention I've tried this without the use of an MVC action filter attribute by attaching to the PostReleaseRequestState event in the global.asax and setting the Response.Filter value there... but still no luck.

• How do I write to command line from a WPF application?

  Hi I know how to write to console but if I write to console in my program and call my program from the command line it won't display anything. How do I make it so that when I say Console.WriteLine or Console.Out.Writeline ir prints to the command prompt from which it was called and not somewhere else? Once again I know how to do Console.WriteLine so it's not that :-p unless I'm doing it wrong. From what I can tell it's probably something to do with Console.SetOut(TextWriter t) this is a WPF application and I need it to post its data to the command line while still retaining the GUI at startup. I've triple checked and my code hits the print lines, I can actually see the lines being printed to the Visual Studio output window, it just won't display in the command line when I run it manually without VS. If possible I need to conditionally have the console display. ie if run from command line (or even with command arguments), display or post to the prompt, otherwise do not.

  I am running Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 with nginx 1.2.6. PHP is PHP-FPM 5.4.9. However, if I visit testapp.com, I get the dreaded No input file specified. error. So, at this point, I pull out the log files and have a look: 2012/12/19 16:00:53 [error] 12183#0: *17 FastCGI sent in stderr: "Unable to open primary script: /www/app/www/index.php (No such file or directory)" while reading response header from upstream, client: 127.0.0.1, server: testapp.com, request: "GET / HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://127.0.0.1:9000", host: "testapp.com" This baffles me because I have checked again and again and /www/app/www/index.php definitely exists! This is also validated by the fact that test.com/app/www/index.php works which means the file exists and the permissions are correct. Why is this happening and what are the root causes of things breaking for just the testapp.com v-host?

• nginx, php-cgi and "No input file specified."

  I'm trying to get nginx to play nice with php-cgi, but it's not quite working how I'd like. I'm using some set variables to allow for dynamic host names--basically anything.local. I know that stuff is working because I can access static files properly, however php files don't work. I get the standard "No input file specified." error which normally occurs when the file doesn't exist, but it definitely does exist and the path is correct because I can access the static files in the same path. It could possibly be a permissions thing, but I'm not sure how that could be an issue. I'm running this on Windows under my own user account, so I think it should have permission unless php-cgi is running under a different user without me telling it to. . • Monitor randomly shutting down, computer accepting no input, need to restart to get working

  First off, spec list: OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 CPU: i7-4820k @ 3.7GHz (stock) GPU: Two 3GB Radeon HD 7970s @ 1.05GHz Mobo: AsRock X79 Extreme6 HDD: 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm RAM: 16GB quad-channel Kingston 1600MHz PSU: Antec HCG 900W Monitors: Acer S220HQL 1920x1080 + ViewSonic VA2251 1920x1080. Plugged into different GPUs. My problem is that, on a daily-ish basis, my monitors will turn off and not turn back on. My computer will still be running, GPU/CPU/case fans all still going, but the monitors will not turn back on. Additionally, it seems to cease all network activity. It doesn't seem to log any errors at all. I've verified that this is not a monitor issue, as when I press the num/caps/scroll lock buttons on my keyboard, the lights don't change, so the computer is clearly not accepting input. I have noticed a few other people on the internet with this problem, and some have claimed that it was solved by disabling PCI-Express Link State Power Management, but the issue still occurs for me after this. Whilst my CPU and GPUs both run at 100% 24/7, the temperatures are certainly not at dangerous levels, with the CPU averaging 65°C and the GPUs at 70°C and 78°C average. All components are brand new. I have tried forcing MSI Afterburner to start when Windows starts and to force a constant voltage, as this fixed the issue for a few days for another user, but he reported back saying that it had stopped working properly again, so I'm not putting too much faith in this working. Many people have said to adjust display sleep mode settings, but this will clearly not work, as the keyboard lights would still work if the monitors were the issue. The closest I can get to a log file for this issue is the following Folding@Home logs: 14:45:21:WU01:FS00:0x17:Completed 1120000 out of 2000000 steps (56%) 14:46:43:WU00:FS01:0x17:Completed 480000 out of 2000000 steps (24%) 14:46:49:WU01:FS00:0x17:Completed 1140000 out of 2000000 steps (57%) 14:48:30:WU01:FS00:0x17:Completed 1160000 out of 2000000 steps (58%) 14:49:55:WU01:FS00:0x17:Completed 1180000 out of 2000000 steps (59%) As you can see, the second GPU (FS01) stops computation approximately three and a half minutes before the issue occurs (it should be completing 1% every 80-120 seconds), and the first GPU (FS00) continues for a few minutes more before the logs just end. As far as I can tell, the computer has a network failure at the time the first GPU stops working, the latest IRC message I received from this time was at 14:47:58. That being said, there could have just not been any messages between then and 14:50:00, so I'm going to be connecting a laptop to the same bouncer to double-check if it happens again. The GPUs functioned perfectly well in another computer for a significant period of time, so I'm fairly confident that they aren't the issue, which means that this is being caused by either software or the motherboard, or possibly RAM. I really hope it's software. I heard from a forum board that there was a patch from Microsoft that fixed this problem, but "I've forgot which KB it was or the google search terms I used to find the patch, LOL.", so that's not much help. Haven't seen it mentioned by anyone else on about a dozen threads about this issue either. The computer is plugged in via a surge-protected power board, and I've run several other computers and pieces of hardware through it with no issues, so that is not the cause. I have just set the hard disk to never turn off, although I don't believe that that will solve the issue. Strangely, this has only happened when I'm not at the computer (which is actually a minority of the time). Until today it had only happened when I had not been actively using the computer for 6 hours, but today it happened within 10-30 minutes of me last using the computer actively. I have enabled file logging from MSI Afterburner, so hopefully this will shed some light on the issue, but I'm not too optimistic. I've heard that it could be a motherboard problem, but I figured I should ask around before RMAing it. Any help?

  Hello Everyone, I am trying to get my datatable to take a POST JSON output from my server. When I change my sAjaxSource to view this page the table doesn't move beyond 'processing'. When I view the JSON directly I see this output. {"sEcho": 1, "iTotalRecords": 1, "iTotalDisplayRecords": 1, "aaData": [ ["Trident","First Ever Job"]] } Just for fun I went to the POST server-side example and copied some of the JSON they are using for their example and just PHP echoed it straight out of another page. This is the output of that page. {"sEcho": 1, "iTotalRecords": 1, "iTotalDisplayRecords": 1, "aaData": [ ["Trident","Internet Explorer 4.0"]] } Here is where it gets interesting. The JSON that has been processed by the server fails to work yet the JSON simply echo'd by the same server on a different page does work... yet both are almost identical in outputs.   Hello, I am trying to send data to LPT1 port with a C# program, unfortunately with no success.. I am using windows 7 x64. I tried both x86 and x64 (inpoutx64.dll) dll's.. With the x64 dll when I send: Output(888, 255); It just continues the program as everything went ok, but i can't see anything on my multimeter (only the static 0.02V).. I also tried the following with C++: int main () { int val = 0; printf("Enter a value\n"); scanf("%d", &val); _outp(0x378, val); getchar(); _outp(0x378, 0); return 0; } But it throws an exception: Unhandled exception at 0x01281428 in ppac.exe: 0xC0000096: Privileged instruction. I remember once I made something like this work on xp, I hope it's possible on win7 too.. Please help me with this. Thanks.

• Simple list based output instead of style and javascript ridden ASP.net webforms menu

  Hi All, Is there a way (or component i could use) to output a simple menu. I just need it output as a list, like you would use for a simple superfish menu. I've looked at the menu control and cssadapters (css friendly) which kind of works, except there is a lot of styles and javascript output with the menu which is destroying the look. If I can't find something that outputs a clean list, my next option is to craft some jquery to delete these styles. This is not my preferred option. If you have a better idea, please let me know. • Keyboard Simulation not working with Keyboard hook for modifier keys

  I have a piece of software that is being used to simulate a certain device on a touchscreen, this device already runs an application that receives keyboard input from the device. My software (reffered to as simulator) displays a virtual keyboard and runs the application. Thus, the simulator sends keys with input simulator: http://inputsimulator.codeplex.com/ And the applciation listens to keys with the following keyboard hook: https://svn.cyberduck.io/tags/release-4-1/source/ch/cyberduck/core/GlobalKeyboardHook.cs My problem is, what some keys from the device's hardware actually do is to sent a key combination (ex: left-alt + 1) to the application and a weird scenario is occurring: The application listens to normal keyboard inputs The simulator sends keys to other applications (ie: visual studio responds to the keys sent when debugging) The simulator can send single keys to the application (I can type) The simulator CANNOT send key combinations to the application (alt+1 is received as just 1 in the application) This started happenning when we imported the application's dll into the same process from the simulator. Could there be any reason why I can't simulate key combinations for a hook in the same process? Is there any easy fix for this?
