  • Injecting correct object graph using StructureMap in Queue of different Objects

    I have a queuing service that has to inject a different dependency graph depending on the type of object in the queue. I'm using Structure Map. So, if the object in the queue is TypeA the concrete classes for TypeA are used and if it's TypeB, the concrete classes for TypeB are used. I'd like to avoid code in the queue like: if (typeA) { // setup TypeA graph } else if (typeB) { // setup TypeB graph } Within the graph, I also have a generic classes such as an IReader(ISomething, ISpomethingElse) where IReader is generic but needs to inject the correct ISomething and ISomethingElse for the type. ISomething will also have dependencies and so on. Currently I create a TypeA or TypeB object and inject a generic Processor class using StructureMap into it and then pass a factory manually inject a TypeA or TypeB factory into a method like: Processor.Process(new TypeAFactory) // perhaps I should have an abstract factory... However, because the factory then creates the generic IReader mentioned above, I end up manually injecting all the TypeA or TypeB classes fro there on. I hope enough of this makes sense. I am new to StructureMap and was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction here for a flexible and elegant solution. Thanks

    I have a two way foreign relation similar to the following class Parent(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=255) favoritechild = models.ForeignKey("Child", blank=True, null=True) class Child(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=255) myparent = models.ForeignKey(Parent) How do I restrict the choices for Parent.favoritechild to only children whose parent is itself? I tried class Parent(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=255) favoritechild = models.ForeignKey("Child", blank=True, null=True, limit_choices_to = {"myparent": "self"}) but that causes the admin interface to not list any children.

  • What kind of library to use for display of graphical objects and right click context menus

    Hi all, Goal: To develop a web based NMS interface which displays a network topology (e.g., switches, routers, links, endhosts). Each node should be 'movable' (draggable to an appropriate place manually or their best location computed algorithmically). I should be able to zoom into the network graph (say if there are many clusters of nodes and I want to concentrate on a particular cluster of nodes). I should be able to right-click any node or link and get a context menu (e.g., 'show routing table', 'show interfaces', 'show bandwidth utilization graph' etc.). The data for this network topology will be fetched by making calls to an apache based webserver where the backend scripts in python will fetch the appropriate data and send it via JSON to the web client. Question: I am assuming that some sort of javascript library/framework will be most appropriate for this - jQuery, Dojo, Moo etc. [I've never used any of these before]. Which of these would be most recommended for this sort of thing. Which would be easiest to learn (say in a months time). Thanks for any tips.

    Hi, I'm having a little problem changing members of an object in a list using a found index. So this is the method I am currently working with: static void addToInventory(ref List<baseItem> myArray, baseItem item, float maxAmount, ref float currentAmount) { if (currentAmount + item.getWeight() <= maxAmount) { Console.WriteLine("item.Quantity = {0}", item.Quantity); if (myArray.Contains(item)) { Console.WriteLine("Item ({0}) already exists", item.Name); int id = myArray.IndexOf(item); myArray[id].Quantity += item.Quantity;//Change occurs in this line, item.Quantity becomes the same as myArray[id].Quantity } else { Console.WriteLine("Adding new item ({0})", item.Name); myArray.Add(item); } currentAmount += item.getWeight(); } else { Console.WriteLine("Inventory full"); } myArray.Sort(); } This method takes several parameters including the inventory/list. I check if the item fits in and if it does, I see if there is another item of the same name in the list, find the index, and add more of the item. However, the quantity of the item added suddenly becomes the same as the quantity of the item in the list. For some reason, this also changes the quantity of the item outside of the list. So therefore, instead of quantities adding up like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, they add up like this: 1, 2, 4, 8. I've just started to learn how to use lists so if there is anything I'm missing, don't hesitate to criticize. Thanks in advance.

    I am working on an application which has got some sensitive information. I am aware that it would be difficult for a layman to hack into iphone to get the information. If I use SQLite directly I have something called SQLite Cipher to encrypt / encode the database. Is there anyway where I can have the same way of encrypting the coredata so it makes it hard for hackers to get into the data. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks in Advance

Because pushing and popping the matrix all the time seems inefficient, but if you keep modifying the verticies you cant make use of display lists. So I'm wondering how it's done in general. Thanks

I know this code might look strange, but it's based on a component system that I'm writing for a CMS. The aim is to be able to replace HTML tags in the template e.g.; <!-- component:customer-login --> with; <?php component_customer_login(); ?> I also need to call pre-render methods of the "Customer" class to validate forms before output is made etc. If anyone can think of a better way, please let me know but in the first instance, I'd like to know why I get the "Fatal error" mentioned above. I have tried something like this: return session.Linq<Enquiry>() .Where(enquiry => enquiry.Created < DateTime.Now) .Select(enquiry => enquiry.Sender) In this case I get an InvalidCastException saying you can't cast type Sender to type Enquiry. Any pointers on how I can do this without using HQL?

    I am wanting to pass something like the following to my view from my controller via GET not POST: public class MyDTO { public string val1 { get; set; } public string val2 { get; set; } public MyObject obj { get; set; } } public class MyObject { public int SomeInt { get; set; } public string ACoolValue { get; set; } public string YetAnotherCoolValue { get; set; } } And then the controller would like like this. (Note it is a GET): public ActionResult MyView(MyDTO dto) { return View(dto) } The problem is that the instance of MyObject is coming back as null, where val1 and val2 have data. Has anyone run across this?

    Suppose I have the following class heirarchy: class A() class B(a:A) class C(b:B) class BaseClass(b:B, c:C) Now I want to implement a subclass of BaseClass, which is given an instance of A, and constructs instances of B and C, which it passes to its superclass constructor. If I could use arbitrary expressions, I'd do something like this: b = new B(a) c = new C(b) super(b, c) Because the second argument to the parent constructor depends on the value of the first argument, though, I can't see any way to do this, without using a factory function, or a gratuitous hack, such as : class IntermediateSubclass(b:B) extends BaseClass(b, new C(b)) class RealSubclass(a:A) extends IntermediateSubclass(new B(a)) Is there clean way to do this?

    I'm revising this question after reading the resources mentioned in the original answers and working through implementing it. I'm using the google maps api to integrate a map into my Rails site. I have a markets model with the following columns: ID, name, address, lat, lng. On my markets/index view, I want to populate a map with all the markets in my markets table. I'm trying to output @markets as json data, and that's where I'm running into problems. I have the basic map displaying, but right now it's just a blank map. I'm following the tutorials very closely, but I can't get the markers to generate dynamically from the json. Any help is much appreciated!     I'm designing a product database where products can have very different attributes depending on their type, but attributes are fixed for each type and types are not manageable at all. E.g.: magazine: title, issue_number, pages, copies, close_date, release_date web_site: name, bandwidth, hits, date_from, date_to I want to use InnoDB and enforce database integrity as much as the engine allows. What's the recommended way to handle this?
