  • How can I get the fully qualified name of an assembly from it's basic name?

    I'm currently writing a custom forms application that allows a user to design a data capture form. I store the field's ControlType and ControlAssembly in the database and then create them on the forms at runtime. For example: ControlType = `System.Web.UI.WebControls.TextBox`. ControlAssembly= `System.Web`. So I can therefor create a fully qualified name and create the control doing the following: string target = Assembly.CreateQualifiedName("System.Web", field.ControlType); Type type = Type.GetType(target); Control control = Activator.CreateInstance(type) as Control; But, this will cause an error as "System.Web" is not a valid assembly name. The assembly name itself has to be fully qualified, i.e. System.Web.Extensions would be: "System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" Is there any way I can get the fully qualified name of the assembly System.Web without having to store the entirity of the version, culture and PKT?

    I have a function that takes optional arguments as name/value pairs. function example(varargin) % Lots of set up stuff vargs = varargin; nargs = length(vargs); names = vargs(1:2:nargs); values = vargs(2:2:nargs); validnames = {'foo', 'bar', 'baz'}; for name = names validatestring(name{:}, validnames); end % Do something ... foo = strmatch('foo', names); disp(values(foo)) end example('foo', 1:10, 'bar', 'qwerty') It seems that there is a lot of effort involved in extracting the appropriate values (and it still isn't particularly robust again badly specified inputs). Is there a better way of handling these name/value pairs? Are there any helper functions that come with MATLAB to assist?

  • Using C# to iterate form fields with same name

    I have a section of a form that I need to handle differently from the rest of form results. In the section that needs special handling I need to iterate over 3 form fields that have the same name. They have to have the same name, I can't change it. The section of the form I am referring to looks something like this: <td><input name="Color" size="20" value="" type="text"></td> Using C# I try something like this: I try to handle it like this: int i; for (i = 1; i <= Request.Form["Color"][i]; i++) { colorName.Text += Request.Form["Color"]; } Which leads to the following exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. How should I be handling form fields with the same name?

  • Android Unit Testing - Resolution & Verification Problems

    I just switched the way my Android project is being built and non of my unit tests work any more...I get errors like WARN/dalvikvm(575): VFY: unable to resolve static field X in ..... WARN/dalvikvm(575): VFY: unable to find class referenced in signature These errors only come from my Unit Tests, where classes defined in it can't even see other classes defined in the unit test. Before each project had its own directory with copies of the 3rd party jar files. I've read around that Dex does weird things with references but haven't been able to figure out how to fix this problem. Is there a better way to do this? I would love to see an example of a large Android workspace where there are multiple projects, jar references, etc... Is it possible to fix this with an Order/Export tweak ? The project is structured like this: Eclipse Workspace (PROJECT_HOME classpath variable) lib 3rd-party jars android.jar Java Project A Looks in PROJECT_HOME Java Project B Looks in PROJECT_HOME Depends on project A Android Project Depends on A & B Looks in PROJECT_HOME Android Test Project Depends on A , B, Android Project Looks in PROJECT_HOME

  • Finding Windows printer driver name using API

    I can't seem to find an API call that returns the driver name for a Windows printer. Note that I'm not talking about the friendly name of the printer in the printer folder, I'm talking about the name of actual driver being used as shown on the "Advanced" tab when you look at the printer properties: I'm trying to detect when I'm printing to the "Generic / Text Only" driver regardless of what name the user chooses for the printer. It doesn't seem like this should be hard, but I can't find it in the DEVMODE structure or anyplace else I've thought to look for it. Thanks for the help!

I interact with the caching class on each web request and this works fine, but I also need to initialise the cache at application start.     Hello, i often work on private projects using the WinApi, and as you might know, it has thousands of named and typedefed structs like MEMORY_BASIC_INFORMATION. I will stick to this one in my question, what still is preferred, or better when you want to name a variable of this type. Is there some kind of style guide for this case? For example if i need that variable for the VirtualQueryEx function. Some ideas: MEMORY_BASIC_INFORMATION memoryBasicInformation; MEMORY_BASIC_INFORMATION memory_basic_information; Just use the name of the struct non capitalized and with or without the underlines. MEMORY_BASIC_INFORMATION basicInformation; MEMORY_BASIC_INFORMATION information; Short form? MEMORY_BASIC_INFORMATION mbi; I often see this style, using the abbreviation of the struct name. MEMORY_BASIC_INFORMATION buffer; VirtualQueryEx defines the third parameter lpBuffer (where you pass the pointer to the struct), so using this name might be an idea, too. Cheers

    I have been playing around with an installation of SOLR that indexes some data from my database. I am able to index data and query it back but I was wondering about how field name queries work. For certain fields I am able to specify their name and the search text to have the results return as expected and for other fields, when I specify their name and search text, no results are returned. q=type:book //(this will work) q=type:book AND title:"The Title" //(no results returned) In this example, type is a required field and title is not. For the example where I search by title, I can see the document in the results of the first query having the given title so I know that a document exists that matches this search. Is making a field 'required' the only way to be able to search by field name? [edit] I'm using the default installation and the 'example' folder inside of solr, editing the xml files and using the interface available through start.jar to be able to run, index and query.

    I am using a namespace called ComShorCaliburnWPF.ViewModules.Views.ShortMenuWindows.GWDSCT on my View.xaml and View.cs, for my ViewModel.cs and my IoC container I am using ComShorCaliburnWPF.ViewModules.Views.ShortMenuWindows.GWDSCT. When I remove the GWDSCT at the end it works fine, but in its current state it does not. I would like it to work how it is now because it accurately reflects where the files are located.   • android drawable changes sizes on screen when reading image from file

    Hi I have an image on a private file. I read the file, create the drawable, and assign it to an ImageView. The ImageView has WRAP_CONTENT so the size is automatic. On 320x480 screens, the image looks good But on screens with more resolution and high density 480x800 or 480x854 (N1, droid) , when the image is for example 150x150, I see the image as 100x100. Of course it has something to do with the density but not sure how should I resolve this.
