  • Control mouse with keyboard in Ubuntu

    - by WishCow
I'm looking for a program that I can use to control the mouse from the keyboard. I think a video can explain it much better that I could, so please check out Mouser from lifehacker.com: http://lifehacker.com/212816/hack-attack-operate-your-mouse-with-your-keyboard Unfortunately, it's only for Windows, but something this would be the perfect solution. I found a lot of help on mapping keys to programs, but nothing about mapping keys to mouse control.

  • How to generate weekly dates from bi-weekly pay period in Excel

    - by A_Pointar
I'm trying to convert bi-weekly pay period to weekly dates. Lets say I have 3/2/2012, 3/16/2012, 3/30/2012 and some gaps and then again biweekly dates. generate 3/9/2012, 3/16/2012, 3/23/2012, 3/30/2012 and so on...I was trying to use INDEX and MATCH but it would give me biweekly again. The perfect way would be to match and generate weeks from my randomized biweekly dates. Here is an example of my worksheet:

  • Restrict Postfix only for allowed Mail-Adresses

    - by Marcus
I want to restrict my postfix system. Exactly I will that my postfix allow to send mails only to allowed user, all other mails should be bounced. For example: This Mails should be send: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] All other Mails should not sended, for Exaple [email protected] [email protected] etc. I tried, the following settings, but it doesn´t work: smtpd_reject_unlisted_sender = yes smtpd_recipient_restrictions = check_recipient_access hash:/etc/postfix/valid_recipients reject_unlisted_sender reject_unknown_recipient_domain reject Have you any idea how to handle it? • Tracking down rogue disk usage

    - by Amadan
I found several other questions regarding the theory behind my problem (e.g. this, this), but I don't know how to apply the answers to my machine. # du -hsx / 11000283 / # df -kT / Filesystem Type 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/csisv13-root ext4 516032952 361387456 128432532 74% / There is a big difference between 11G (du) and 345G (df). • Per directory ignore in TextMate

    - by tig
I love idea of TextMate that any directory opened in it is already a project. But sometimes I it would be good to ignore files for certain dir and I don't like idea of creating project file in that dir or remembering how I named project file in some special folder like ~/.tmproject. Is there some sort of plugin or something like this which will allow me to ignore files in dir? Perfect solution would be reading .gitignore file.

  • RHEL 6.x on Rackspace Cloud and Dedicated hardware experiencing Redis Timeouts

    - by zhallett
I just recently set up a mixture of RHEL 6.1 Rackspace cloud hosts and RHEL 6.2 dedicated hosts using Rackconnect. I am experiencing intermittent Redis timeouts from within our Rails 3.2.8 app with Redis 2.4.16 running on the RHEL 6.2 dedicated hosts. There is no network latency or packet loss. Also there are no errors on any interfaces on our cloud or dedicated servers or on the managed firewall from Rackspace. When Redis timesout, there is nothing logged within redis even though it is set up to do debug logging. The only error we receive is from Airbrake saying there was a Redis timeout. • Postfix: Relay access denied

    - by Joseph Silvashy
When I telnet to my server thats running postfix and try to send an email: MAIL FROM:<[email protected]> #=> 250 2.1.0 Ok RCPT TO:<[email protected]> #=> 554 5.7.1 <[email protected]>: Relay access denied I couldn't really find the answer on the site or by looking at other users question/answers, I'm not sure where to start. Ideas? Update So basically looking at the docs: http://www.postfix.org/SMTPD_ACCESS_README.html (section: Getting selective with SMTP access restriction lists), I don't seem to have any of those directives in etc/postfix/main.cf like smtpd_client_restrictions = permit_mynetworks, reject or any of the other ones, so I'm quite confused. But really I'm going to have a rails app connect to the server and send the emails, so I'm not sure how to handle it. Here is what my config file looks like: # See /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.dist for a commented, more complete version # Debian specific: Specifying a file name will cause the first # line of that file to be used as the name. • Convert TIFF with Alpha Channel to PNG?

    - by Michael Stum
I have a TIFF File that has a blue background and an Alpha Channel. I would like to save a PNG File which has the blue background transparent, using the Alpha Channel (because some pixels are not fully transparent) I use Photoshop CS5 Standard, but I haven't found an option there. I don't want to use the Magic Wand because it struggles with half-transparent pixels and because I do have a perfect Alpha Channel. Any ideas how this can be done?

  • mounting ext4 fs with block size of 65536

    - by seaquest
I am doing some benchmarking on EXT4 performance on Compact Flash media. I have created an ext4 fs with block size of 65536. however I can not mount it on ubuntu-10.10-netbook-i386. • Creating new bash command for Sublime Text 2

    - by Gavin
I'm trying to get Sublime Text 2's command line alias working. The instructions make perfect sense: Run ln -s "/Applications/Sublime Text 2.app/Contents/SharedSupport/bin/subl" ~/bin/subl So, in ~/bin, subl exists. However, even when I restart terminal, the command 'subl' is not found. The path specified to the application's subl file is correct, I've verified that. Logging out does not fix it. Any help would be awesome!

  • Windows 2003 GPO Software Restrictions

    - by joeqwerty
We're running a Terminal Server farm in a Windows 2003 Domain, and I found a problem with the Software Restrictions GPO settings that are being applied to our TS servers. Here are the details of our configuration and the problem: All of our servers (Domain Controllers and Terminal Servers) are running Windows Server 2003 SP2 and both the domain and forest are at Windows 2003 level. Our TS servers are in an OU where we have specific GPO's linked and have inheritance blocked, so only the TS specific GPO's are applied to these TS servers. Our users are all remote and do not have workstations joined to our domain, so we don't use loopback policy processing. We take a "whitelist" approach to allowing users to run applications, so only applications that we approve and add as path or hash rules are able to run. We have the Security Level in Software Restrictions set to Disallowed and Enforcement is set to "All software files except libraries". What I've found is that if I give a user a shortcut to an application, they're able to launch the application even if it's not in the Additional Rules list of "whitelisted" applications. If I give a user a copy of the main executable for the application and they attempt to launch it, they get the expected "this program has been restricted..." message. It appears that the Software Restrictions are indeed working, except for when the user launches an application using a shortcut as opposed to launching the application from the main executable itself, which seems to contradict the purpose of using Software Restrictions. My questions are: Has anyone else seen this behavior? Can anyone else reproduce this behavior? Am I missing something in my understanding of Software Restrictions? Is it likely that I have something misconfigured in Software Restrictions? EDIT To clarify the problem a little bit: No higher level GPO's are being enforced. Running gpresults shows that in fact, only the TS level GPO's are being applied and I can indeed see my Software Restictions being applied. No path wildcards are in use. I'm testing with an application that is at "C:\Program Files\Application\executable.exe" and the application executable is not in any path or hash rule. If the user launches the main application executable directly from the application's folder, the Software Restrictions are enforced. If I give the user a shortcut that points to the application executable at "C:\Program Files\Application\executable.exe" then they are able to launch the program. EDIT Also, LNK files are listed in the Designated File Types, so they should be treated as executable, which should mean that they are bound by the same Software Restrictions settings and rules.

  • postmap: fatal: open database /etc/postfix/sasl_passwd.db: Permission denied

    - by James Benders
Hi, I'm configurint Postfix to use external smtp. For this, I use the following tutorial: http://carlton.oriley.net/blog/?p=31 After following it, I found in the logs that /etc/postfix/sasl_passwd.db couldn't be read. The file didn't exist. I used postmap hash:/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd (http://postfix.state-of-mind.de/patrick.koetter/smtpauth/smtp_auth_mailservers.html) as root, but I get: postmap: fatal: open database /etc/postfix/sasl_passwd.db: Permission denied Why do I get this? Thanks.

  • how does openvpn decide which interface to get IP addrs from

    - by bkrupa
Using ubuntu 10.04 on both ends. We have a client and server machine on the SAME network attempting to make a vpn connection. We use the config files from here and made minimal changes. The server and client start and seem to connect without any trouble. The server looks like: Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 MULTI: multi_create_instance called Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 192.168.1.55:47166 Re-using SSL/TLS context Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 192.168.1.55:47166 LZO compression initialized Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 192.168.1.55:47166 Control Channel MTU parms [ L:1574 D:138 EF:38 EB:0 ET:0 EL:0 ] Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 192.168.1.55:47166 Data Channel MTU parms [ L:1574 D:1450 EF:42 EB:135 ET:32 EL:0 AF:3/1 ] Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 192.168.1.55:47166 Local Options hash (VER=V4): 'f7df56b8' Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 192.168.1.55:47166 Expected Remote Options hash (VER=V4): 'd79ca330' Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 192.168.1.55:47166 TLS: Initial packet from 192.168.1.55:47166, sid=69112e42 5458135b *...* Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 192.168.1.55:47166 Control Channel: TLSv1, cipher TLSv1/SSLv3 DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA, 1024 bit RSA Wed Feb 23 22:13:22 2011 192.168.1.55:47166 [client1] Peer Connection Initiated with 192.168.1.55:47166 On the client side the connection looks like: Wed Feb 23 22:20:07 2011 [server] Peer Connection Initiated with [AF_INET]192.168.1.41:1194 Wed Feb 23 22:20:10 2011 SENT CONTROL [server]: 'PUSH_REQUEST' (status=1) Wed Feb 23 22:20:10 2011 PUSH: Received control message: 'PUSH_REPLY,route-gateway 10.8.0.4,ping 10,ping-restart 120,ifconfig 10.8.0.50 255.255.255.0' ... If the client has two interfaces (wireless and tap device) when you look for a certain ip address, how does it decide which interface to connect on?

  • Postfix to deliver mail to a virtual address mailbox

    - by Chloe
    Postfix version 2.6.6, Dovecot Version 2.0.9 I want to setup Postfix + Dovecot. Dovecot seems to be working. I can authenticate. However, the mailbox is empty! Nothing will get delivered! I followed many tutorials on Postfix + Dovecot but they seem to want to complicate things by using Dovecot LDA or MySQL. I just want it to be very simple and having Postfix deliver to the virtual mail boxes are fine. I don't need MySQL either. I already set up a custom password file that Dovecot uses for authentication and I can login to POP3 with SSL. I can see from the logs that Postfix is delivering to the system user accounts (the catch-all), instead of the virtual users that I set up in Dovecot. The SMTP + SSL authentication seems to work also. I can also see from the logs that Dovecot is checking the correct virtual mail folder. I just need to figure out how to get Postfix to deliver to the virtual mail boxes. I have the following which I believe are relevant. Let me know what other settings you need to see: alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost, $mydomain mydomain = xxx.com myhostname = mail.xxx.com mynetworks = 99.99.99.99, 99.99.99.99 myorigin = $mydomain relay_domains = $mydestination, xxx.com, domain2.net, domain3.com sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix setgid_group = postdrop smtpd_recipient_restrictions = reject_non_fqdn_sender reject_non_fqdn_recipient reject_unknown_recipient_domain permit_sasl_authenticated check_relay_domains smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = yes smtpd_sasl_path = private/auth smtpd_sasl_type = dovecot smtpd_sender_restrictions = check_sender_mx_access cidr:/etc/postfix/bogus_mx reject_invalid_hostname reject_unknown_sender_domain reject_non_fqdn_sender virtual_mailbox_base = /var/spool/vmail virtual_mailbox_domains = xxx.com, domain2.net, domain3.com virtual_minimum_uid = 444 Postfix master.cf: submission inet n - - - - smtpd -o smtpd_tls_security_level=encrypt -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes -o smtpd_sasl_type=dovecot -o smtpd_sasl_path=private/auth -o smtpd_sasl_security_options=noanonymous -o smtpd_sasl_local_domain=$myhostname -o smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject -o smtpd_sender_login_maps=hash:/etc/postfix/virtual -o smtpd_sender_restrictions=reject_sender_login_mismatch -o smtpd_recipient_restrictions=reject_non_fqdn_recipient,reject_unknown_recipient_domain,permit_sasl_authenticated,reject Dovecot related: mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir passdb { args = /etc/dovecot/users.conf driver = passwd-file } service auth { unix_listener /var/spool/postfix/private/auth { mode = 0660 user = postfix } } The virtual mail user: vmail:x:444:99:virtual mail users:/var/spool/vmail:/sbin/nologin Here is the /var/log/maillog when I try to send something to myself: Oct 25 22:10:05 308321 postfix/smtpd[2200]: connect from user-999.cable.mindspring.com[99.99.99.99] Oct 25 22:10:05 308321 postfix/smtpd[2200]: D224BD4753: client=user-999.cable.mindspring.com[99.99.99.99], sasl_method=LOGIN, [email protected] Oct 25 22:10:06 308321 postfix/cleanup[2207]: D224BD4753: message-id=<7DC3C163CFFC483AB6226F8D3D9969D2@dumbopc> Oct 25 22:10:06 308321 postfix/qmgr[2168]: D224BD4753: from=<[email protected]>, size=1385, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Oct 25 22:10:06 308321 postfix/smtpd[2200]: disconnect from user-999.cable.mindspring.com[99.99.99.99] Oct 25 22:10:06 308321 postfix/local[2208]: D224BD4753: to=<[email protected]>, orig_to=<[email protected]>, relay=local, delay=1.1, delays=0.53/0.02/0/0.51, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to mailbox) Oct 25 22:10:06 308321 postfix/qmgr[2168]: D224BD4753: removed
