  • Capital D key not working / producing output

    For some inexplicable reason the capital d key on my Ubuntu system is no longer producing output. Hitting caps lock and then d produces a D. I've tried multiple keyboards and the issue is the same.     I am a new starter to Node.Js and Redis. I got the Redis cookbook and was trying out the Chat client & Server recipe. I was wondering if anybody got the code to work or if there is some bug in the code. I dont see where the sent messages from the client get invoked on the server. Any help would be great.   • Tab bar controller inside a navigation controller, or sharing a navigation root view

    I'm trying to implement a UI structured like in the Tweetie app, which behaves as so: the top-level view controller seems to be a navigation controller, whose root view is an "Accounts" table view. If you click on any account, it goes to the second level, which has a tab bar across the bottom. Each tab item shows a different list and lets you drill down further (the subsequent levels don't show the tab bar). So, this seems like the implementation hierarchy is: UINavigationController Accounts: UITableViewController UITabBarController Tweets: UITableViewController Detail view of a tweet/user/etc Replies: UITableViewController ... This seems to work[^1], but appears to be unsupported according to the SDK documentation for -pushViewController:animated: (emphasis added): viewController: The view controller that is pushed onto the stack. It cannot be an instance of tab bar controller. I would like to avoid private APIs and the like, but I'm not sure why this usage is explicitly prohibited even when it seems to work fine. Anyone know the reason? I've thought about putting the tab bar controller as the main controller, with each of the tabs containing separate navigation controllers. The problem with this is that each nav controller needs to share a single root view controller (namely the "Accounts" table in Tweetie) -- this doesn't seem to work: pushing the table controller to a second nav controller seems to remove it from the first. Not to mention all the book-keeping when selecting a different account would probably be a pain. How should I implement this the Right Way? [^1]: The tab bar controller needs to be subclassed so that the tab bar controller's navigation item at that level stays in sync with the selected tab's navigation item, and the individual tab's table controller's need to push their respective detail views to self.tabBarController.navigationController instead of self.navigationController.

  • Environment variable in xcconfig won't expand in Settings.bundle/Root.plist

    I have defined my own environment variable in a .xcconfig file and based my configurations on that as described at http://www.silverchairsolutions.com/blog/2008/03/automating-cocoa-deployments-with-sparkle-and-xcode. My environment variable is indeed expanded in Info.plist but not in my Settings.bundle/Root.plist. Why won't it expand there?   • PHP get "Application Root" in Xampp on Windows correctly

    Hi all: I found this thread on StackOverflow about how to get the "Application Root" from inside my web app. However, most of the approaches suggested in that thread can hardly be applied to my Xampp on Windows. Say, I've got a "common.php" which stays inside my web app's app directory: / /app/common.php /protected/index.php In my common.php, what I've got is like this: define('DOCROOT', $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']); define('ABSPATH', dirname(__FILE__)); define('COMMONSCRIPT', $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']); After I required the common.php inside the /protected/index.php, I found this: C:/xampp/htdocs //<== echo DOCROOT; C:\xampp\htdocs\comic\app //<== echo ABSPATH /comic/protected/index.php //<== echo COMMONSCRIPT So the most troublesome part is the path delimiters are not universal, plus, it seems all superglobals from the $_SERVER[] asso array, such as $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'], are relative to the "caller" script, not the "callee" script. It seems that I can only rely on dirname(__FILE__) to make sure this always returns an absolute path to the common.php file. I can certainly parse the returning values from DOCROOT and ABSPATH and then calculate the correct "application root". For instance, I can compare the parts after htdocs and substitute all backslashes with slashes to get a unix-like path I wonder is this the right way to handle this? What if I deploy my web app on a LAMP environment? would this environment-dependent approach bomb me out? I have used some PHP frameworks such as CakePHP and CodeIgniter, to be frank, They just work on either LAMP or WAMP, but I am not sure how they approached such a elegant solution.     Apologies for my longest question on SO ever. I'm trying to interface with a php frontend for a mysql database in ROOT (a CERN framework in C++ for high energy physics analysis). To start off with, I tried to get this php interface to play nice with wget and curl first because I'm more familiar with them. The following command works: wget --post-data "hostname=localhost:3306&un=joeuser&pw=psswd&myquery=show_spazio_databases;" http://some.host.edu/log/log_query_matlab.php The results are: database1 database2 That's good. What matters it that using ROOT, I use a function called as socket.SendRaw(message, message.Length()) (socket is a TSocket) and this gives me the same "error" as wget without the post data switch if my "message" is "POST http://some.host.edu/log/log_query_matlab.php?hostname=localhost:3306&un=joeuser&pw=psswd&myquery=show_spazio_databases" This may be in vain, but does someone knows a way I should format the "message" that includes something that is equivalent to the --post-data switch. Or, is there a standard way to format POST requests in a single line (I've seen multi-line stuff. Is that right?) Sorry I'm clueless! PS. The mysql query is show databases but the space has been replaced with _spazio_, Italian for space. The author of the db and php interface requires it (and various replacements for symbols), but has anyone seen this before? Trying to troubleshoot that was terrible!

  • Apache mod_rewrite - forward domain root to subdirectory

    I have what I originally assumed to be a simple problem. I am using shared hosting for my website (so I don't have access to the Apache configuration) and have only been given a single folder to store all my content in. This is all well and good but it means that all my subdomains must have their virtual document root's inside public_html, meaning they effectively become a folder on my main domain. What I'd like to do is organise my public_html something like this: public_html/ www/ index.php ... sub1/ index.php ... some_library/ ... This way, all my web content is still in public_html but only a small fraction of it will be served to the client. I can easily achieve this for all the subdomains, but it's the primary domain that I'm having issues with. I created a .htaccess file in public_html with the following: Options +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch # I'm not allowed to use FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/www [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /www/$1 [L] This works fairly well, but for some strange reason www.example.com/stuff is translated into a request for www.example.com/www/stuff and hence a 404 error is given. It was my understanding that unless an 'R' flag was specified, mod_rewrite was purely internal so I can't understand why the request is generated as that implies (to me at least) redirection. I assumed this would be a trivial problem to solve as all I actually want to do is forward all requests for the root of www.example.com to a subdirectory, but I've spent hours searching for answers and none are quite correct. I find it difficult to believe I'm the only person to have this issue. I apologise if this question has been answered on here before, I did search and trawl but couldn't find an appropriate answer. Please could someone shed some light on this?

    Say we're writing a simple recursive function fib(n) that calculates the nth Fibonacci number. Now, we want the function to print that nth number. As the same function is being called repeatedly, there has to be a condition that allows only the root call to print. The question is: how to write this condition without passing any additional arguments, or using global/static variables. So, we're dealing with something like this: int fib(int n) { if(n <= 0) return 0; int fn = 1; if(n > 2) fn = fib(n-2) + fib(n-1); if(???) cout << fn << endl; return fn; } int main() { fib(5); return 0; } I thought that the root call differs from all children by returning to a different caller, namely the main method in this example. I wanted to know whether it is possible to use this property to write the condition and how. Update: please note that this is a contrived example that only serves to present the idea.   • Trying to move files with specific file names from root directory to a subfolder

    Hi I'm still pretty new to powershell so I apologize if I ask something that extremely basic. I have a root directory on a tftp server that pulls down config files from routers and other equipment every night. The files are like this IPaddress_YYYYMMDD_TA5000. There is a limitation in the equipment where the files can't be set to move into the root directory on their own. What I want to do is make a powershell script that will only move the files with the TA5000 part in the filename to the sub directory and only keep the 5 most recent files. I looked but I couldn't seem to find what I would need to do to parse the file for that specific string. I already have the portion of the script to delete the files based on age that was simple. Any help on getting started would be appreciated. Edit: I forgot to post the code I was trying. Move-Item c:\tftptransferfiles c:\tftptransferfiles\sca | Where-Object {_.name -like "*TA5000*"} I keep getting a error saying that the item at C:\tftptransferfiles is in use.

    I'm trying to load an image to a div background using the following file structure in the root. WebContent -- | zharaimages -- | [ItemID] -- | Image.jpg This is done by jQuery and the file structure is inside the root. The ItemID folder is dynamic and I have to check whether the path exists using jQuery and if the path is not valid, I should go to a default path to fetch the default image. How can I check the path is valid using jQuery. I'm hoping to this can be done without an ajax call. Can any one help me on a tutorial or an API I can use for this! UPDATE The files are on the server. The concept I have is that I have 100s of item elements & I want to load an image for each item element. The images are saved in the server ( a local host ) and the folder hierarchy is divided using the item ID as shown. What I want to do is check whether the image file exists before appending it to the background of the item element div. Is this possible. This is a web application developed using spring.

    I am using suPHP with Apache for virtual hosting but somewhere down the line my root ssh access is getting screwed up. I haven't been able to figure out why it is happening but eventually, my root user is not able to ssh to the server. After some debugging, I was able to narrow it down to a few things. For some reason the sshd daemon is running as root:www-data (apache user) instead of root. My ftp connection works but ssh over terminal fails. I have no idea whether it is getting caused due to suPHP or not (because that is the only place where user permission's etc. change).   • Why would I want to install node.js in my Rails Application?

    Okay guys, I'm super confused. I thought node.js was a sever side framwork, basically the js version of Ruby's Rails or PHP's Zend. However, I'm having some difficulty with turbolinks, and it seems to be the way to fix it is through installing node.js I mean, I don't understand this at all. How can two frameworks work together like this? Also, it's not a gem (that REALLY would have confused me), you have to install node.js it onto your local machine by running (in the case of Ubuntu) sudo apt-get install nodejs Firstly, how does this totally separate framwork have any bearing on rails? Secondly, surely this isn't fixing the problem forever? When you specify a gem in your gemfile, the server knows what external libraries to install. How does the server know to install nodejs?

  • Managed servers getting down regularly by Node Manager. WAD?

    Recently I have been working on a service request where several instances were running, and several technologies were being used, including SOA, BAM, BPEL and others. At a first glance, this may seem to be a Node Manager problem. But on this situation, the problem was at JMS - Persistent Store level. Node Manager can automatically restart Managed Servers that have the "failed" health state, or have shut down unexpectedly due to a system crash or reboot. As a matter of fact, from the provided log files it was clear that the instance was becoming unhealthy because of a persist6ent Store problem. So finally, the problem here was not with Node Manager as it was working as designed, and the restart was being caused by the Persistent Store. After this Persistent Store problem was fixed, everuthing went fine. This particular issue that I worked was on an Exalogic machine, but note that this may happen on any hardware running Weblogic.

    I have a Tree object in my Flex code. It's width is 100%, and it is contained by a Panel with width=200. I am using a custom itemrenderer that extends TreeItemRenderer. I need the text in each node to word wrap if it's too big (as happens often). I have tried label.wordWrap = true; in my item renderer without any luck. Any other suggestions?
