IE8 error when using dyanamic form actions

Hello all: Please go here to see an iframe based web app. Click on the map of Australia, choose a city, then buy some tickets. Now you will see the cart form located on the lower right corner. The problem is in IE8, I cannot delete checked rows from the table; whereas in other browsers such as FireFox3.6, Opera10, Safari4 and Chrome4, this action is all right. Below is the related javascript. It doesn't use jQuery, as part of the requirement is no framework allowed! form.has_errors tag not working

Hello, Im using Django 1.2.3. I have login functionality in my site using django.contrib.auth.views.login. The user is able to login after entering correct username and password. But, form.has_errors is not working i.e. if the login credentials entered are incorrect i dont see the error message. Connection Timed Out - Simple outbound Postfix for PHP Contact form

Alright, so I only got Postfix for a PHP contact form that will send email to a single . I only want it to send out mail to a single external address ([email protected]). I have domain sub1.sub2.domain.com. I installed Postfix out of the Ubuntu repo, with minimal config changes. I cannot get Postfix to send mail externally (though it succeeds for internal accounts, which is unnecessary). The email simply defers if I generate an email using PHP mail(). Ajax comments form in ASP.NET MVC2

I've been playing around with different aspects of MVC for some time now, and I've reached a situation where I'm not sure what would be the best way to solve a problem. I'm hoping that the SO community will help me out here :P I've seen a number of examples of Ajax.BeginForm on the internet, and it seems like a very nifty idea. E.g. you have a dropdown where you select a customer - and on selecting one it will load this client's details in some placeholder on the page. This works perfectly fine. But what to do if you want to tie in some validation in the box? Just hypothetically, imagine an article page, and user comments in the bottom. Below the comments area there's an ajax-y "Add comment" box. When a user adds a comment, it will appear in the comments area, below the last comment there. If I set the Ajax.BeginForm to Append the result of the call to the Comments area, it will work fine. But what if the data posted is not valid? Instead of appending a "successful" comment to the comments area I have to show the user validation errors. At this point I decided that the area INSIDE the Ajax.BeginForm will be inside a partial, and the form's submits will return this partial. Validation works fine. On each submit we reload the contents inside the form element. But how to add the successful comment to the top? Other things to consider: The comment form also has a "Preview" button. When the user clicks on Preview, I should load the rendered comment into a preview box. This will probably be inside the form area as well. I was thinking of using Json results instead. When the user submits the form, the server code will generate a Json object with a Success value, and html rendered partials as some properties. Something like { "success": true, "form": "<html form data>", "comment": "successful comment html to inject into the page" } This would be a perfect solution, except there's no way in MVC to render a partial into a string, inside the controller (separation of context, remember?). So.. what should I do then? Any "correct" way to implement this?

markitup wysiwyg with a standard HTML form

Hi, I'm trying to use the markitup editor on my site and I'm having a problem trying to figure out what I need to do to submit the text area to my server side script. I'm guessing there is something simple that needs to be done but my lack of JS/JQuery knowledge is making it really hard to find a answer The editor works fine, I just want to use my own form and submit button with it, however when I try to submit the form I don't get any of the textarea data in my script. Any idea what I need to do? This is the min that works (before submit) In the Head of my HTML <script type="text/javascript" >  </script> And the body: <form id="postpreview" name="newpost" action="/someurl" method="POST" /> <input type="hidden" name="key1" value="val1" /> <input type="hidden" name="key2" value="val2" /> <textarea name="text" id="markItUp"></textarea> <input id="SubmitPost" type="image" value="Continue" name="Doit" class="preview" src="/img/somimage" /> </form> As I said, everything prior to the submit works but once I submit I don't get anything for the form data element "text". ASP.Net JSON Web Service Post Form Data

I have a ASP.NET web service decorated with System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService() so it can return json formatted data. This much is working for me, but ASP.Net has a requirement that parameters to the web service must be in json in order to get json out. I'm using jquery to run my ajax calls and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to create a nice javascript object from the form elements. I have looked at serialiseArray in the json2 library but it doesn't encode the field names as property name in the object. If you have 2 form elements like this <input type="text" name="namefirst" id="namefirst" value="John"/> <input type="text" name="namelast" id="namelast" value="Doe"/> calling $("form").serialize() will get you the standard query string namefirst=John&namelast=Doe calling JSON.stringify($("form").serializeArray()) will get you the (bulky) json representation [{"name":"namefirst","value":"John"},{"name":"namelast","value":"Doe"}] This will work when passing to the web service but its ugly as you have to have code like this to read it in: Public Class NameValuePair Public name As String Public value As String End Class <WebMethod()> _ Public Function GetQuote(ByVal nvp As NameValuePair()) As String End Function You would also have to wrap that json text inside another object nameed nvp to make the web service happy. Then its more work as all you have is an array of NameValuePair when you want an associative array. I might be kidding myself but i imagined something more elegant when i started this project - more like this Public Class Person Public namefirst As String Public namelast As String End Class which would require the json to look something like this: {"namefirst":"John","namelast":"Doe"} Is there an easy way to do this? Obviously it is simple for a form with two parameters but when you have a very large form concatenating strings gets ugly. Having nested objects would also complicate things The cludge I have settled on for the moment is to use the standard name value pair format stuffed inside a json object. This is compact and fast {"q":"namefirst=John&namelast=Doe"} then have a web method like this on the server that parses the query string into an associate array. <WebMethod()> _ Public Function AjaxForm(ByVal q As String) as string Dim params As NameValueCollection = HttpUtility.ParseQueryString(q) 'do stuff return "Hello" End Sub As far a cludges go this one seems reasonably elegant in terms of amount of code, but my question is: is there a better way? Is there a generally accepted way of passing form data to asp.net web/script services?

ASP.Net MVC Ajax form with jQuery validation

I have an MVC view with a form built with the Ajax.BeginForm() helper method, and I'm trying to validate user input with the jQuery Validation plugin. I get the plugin to highlight the inputs with invalid input data, but despite the invalid input the form is posted to the server. How do I stop this, and make sure that the data is only posted when the form validates? Contact form with php-script does not work

I'm looking for a user script that lets me fill out some form fields that are not covered by the Magic Wand in Opera. Alternately I could accept a solution that lets Opera accept other form fields with the Wand. To give you one example: when logging into any of the StackExchange sites, I need to manually enter (or enter from a note) the URL of the OpenID provider. I would like to automate this in particular plus several other sites where a similar situation exists.

good, simple music streaming for windows?

I've been using itunes to stream music over lan, and quite frankly the quality is terrible. On the other hand, its ease of use - having a simple client on either end, and it just 'working' with full control on my end is nice- the quality however is terrible - I'm wondering if there's any controllable streaming remote music serve for windows that will let me pick the bitrate it sends at, or uses whatever bitrate the original file is in, and just sends it, and has itself controllable at the client end, and will work acceptably over a wlan connection

Solaris: a simple script does not work, single command does

In my Solaris Illumos, I run a simple script: update_drv -a -i '[myhardware]' [driver] svcadm disable stmf svccfg import /mypath/myconfig svcadm enable stmf It does not work and gives me no error. The service stmf goes in maintenance mode and I must reboot! I've discovered that if I run the single commands from console, it works but if I put it into a script, it works only the first line. Can you explain this behavior?

PDF form (not) saving

I've created a form in a PDF with Adobe Acrobat Pro. When empy, I want to use it as a template which the user opens, fills in, and saves as a copy to preserve the blank state of the template. Here's the trick : I found both ways to make the document read only - the user can't save the form value, only print them make the document writeable, but in this case the document acting as a template can be modified too. Any ideas? Thanks.

I am a 2nd year student in graduation. Recently I filled an admission form for final year admission but it came back to me after 2 days because I had entered wrong information. I want to edit the wrong information and I have scanned the form. I am looking for a good online site where I can upload the scanned document and convert same into an editable format. WindowsForms difference to simple Console App

I currently started to "port" my console projects to WinForms, but it seems I am badly failing doing that. I am simply used to a console structure: I got my classes interacting with each other depending on the input coming from the console. A simple flow: Input -> ProcessInput -> Execute -> Output -> wait for input Now I got this big Form1.cs (etc.) and the "Application.Run(Form1);" But I really got no clue how my classes can interact with the form and create a flow like I described above. I mean, I just have these "...._Click(object sender....)" for each "item" inside the form. Now I do not know where to place / start my flow / loop, and how my classes can interact with the form.
