Reading a file from a jar, or anywhere on the classpath?

I'm trying to build an application that builds a resource file into a jar, but I'd like to have the project runnable within eclipse. I have a basic maven 2 structure for my project, and I'm unsure how to read in the file such that it's found and used when run from the JAR or from within eclipse. Thought? Structure: src/main/java src/main/resources/file.txt Current reading method: getClass().getResourceAsStream("/file.txt") Is there reading method that will pick up src/main/resources/*, as well as the root level of the JAR (where resources are deployed)?

pycurl script can't login to website

I'm currently trying to get a grasp on pycurl. I'm attempting to login to my own website. After logging into the site it should redirect to the main page. However when trying this script it just gets returned to the login page. I would like to have the object in a seperate file, so I only need to update the file in stead of the JS file (otherwise it will be very big). I'm using JQUERY. Demystifying gcc under lpthreads

in these i'm playing with thread library and trying to implement some functions. One of the tutorial says that to run the program use : gcc -lpthread -lrt -lc -lm project1.c scheduler.c -o out first of all i need deep understanding of what is gcc doing in each line, lpthread is used for what? what are the contributions of lrt -lc -lm ? project1.c and scheduler.c is compiled together so what should i understand? i checked the code and any of them not included in project1.c or scheduler.c. as an output clearly it gives "out". secondly the author states that to run the program you have to use ./out number filename (For example, ./out 2 sample.txt) To make these clear as far as i understand the main function gets number and sample.txt as an input.(?) thanks for your answers and making me clear.

rsync creating thousands of ..ds_store files from mounted volume

hello there - been using rsync on os x to sync all our website admins. it was working fine until the os x 10.6.3 update! Now it creates thousands of ZeroK folders. java OutofMemoryError

I am running the following command on unix box. java -Xms3800m -Xmx3800m org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -out Cust.txt -in test13l.xml -xsl CustDetails.xsl It is a java command, which calls Xalan processor to parse through the xml file (test131.xml) using the xsl stylesheet (CustDetails.xsl) and returns Cust.txt. The command works fine and the output is generated. It takes 12 minutes to process an xml file size of 1.1 GB. It takes 22 minutes to process a file size of 1.44 GB. However, when I try to process a file size of 1.66 GB, it errors out with the following message: (Location of error unknown)XSLT Error (java.lang.OutOfMemoryError): null I have increased the java heap size to 3800 not sure what I can do more. Why am I getting unexpected output trying to write a hash structure to a file?

I have a hash in which I store the products a customer buys (%orders). It uses the product code as key and has a reference to an array with the other info as value. At the end of the program, I have to rewrite the inventory to the updated version (i.e. subtract the quantity of the bought items) This is how I do rewrite the inventory: sub rewriteInventory{ open(FILE,'>inv.txt'); foreach $key(%inventory){ print FILE "$key\|$inventory{$key}[0]\|$inventory{$key}[1]\|$inventory{$key}[2]\n" } close(FILE); } where $inventory{$key}[x] is 0 → Title, 1 → price, 2 → quantity. The problem here is that when I look at inv.txt afterwards, I see things like this: CD-911|Lady Gaga - The Fame|15.99|21 ARRAY(0x145030c)||| BOOK-1453|The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown|14.75|12 ARRAY(0x145bee4)||| Where do these ARRAY(0x145030c)||| entries come from? Or more important, how do I get rid of them?

I am trying to implement a linux shell that supports piping. I have already done simple commands, commands running in background, redirections, but piping is still missing. I have already read about it and seen some snippets of code, but still haven't been able to sort out a working solution. So, before being able to implement three and more different commands in pipeline, I would like to be able to compute "ls names.txt | sort" or something similiar, in which names.txt is a file of names alfabetically unordered. Tricking a Unix Commandline Program into Accepting a File Stream

Hypothetical situation. I have a command line program in *nix (linux, BSD, etc.). It was written so that you pass it a text file as an argument $ program file.txt Run the program, it looks at the text in file.txt. Is it possible to "trick" this program into accepting input from a file stream rather than reading a file via disk? I'm pretty comfortable using unix pipes to do stuff, but there's still something a little mysterious about their internals that make it so I can't say (definitively) yes or not to the above question.

Blank space after file extension -> weird FileInfo behaviour

Somehow a file has appeared in one of my directories, and it has space at the end of its extension - its name is "test.txt ". The weird thing is that Directory.GetFiles() returns me the path of this file, but I'm unable to retrieve file information with FileInfo class. The error manifests here: DirectoryInfo di = new DirectoryInfo("c:\\somedir"); FileInfo fi = di.GetFileSystemInfos("test*")[0] as FileInfo; //correctly fi.FullName is "c:\somedir\test.txt " //but fi.Exists==false (!) Is FileInfo class broken? Can I somehow retrieve information about this file? I really don't know how did that file appear on my file system, and I am unable to recreate some more of them. All of my attempts to create a new file with this type of extension have failed, but now my program is crashing when encoutering it. I can easily handle the exception when finding the file, but boy am I curious about this!

Need help parsing file/writing script

Hey all, I have been doing nothing but web development over the last few years and haven't written any Java or C++ in what feels like forever. I don't necessarily need to use these languages, so I'm entirely open to suggestion. I was given an email list by a client to import into their mailchimp account yesterday and unfortunately, Mailchimp couldn't read the file. It's a text file, but I don't believe it's tab delimited (which would make this much, much easier for me). A small portion of the file (I've changed last names and email addresses) can be viewed here: http://sparktoignite.com/patients.txt If anyone has suggestions on how I can get this into a Mailchimp readable format (csv, tab delimited txt, excel) please let me know. I feel like 3 years ago I would've been able to do this in a matter of minutes, but given that I haven't touched anything other than RoR, PHP, and jQuery for the last few years, I don't know where to start. unformatted input to a std::string instead of c-string from binary file.

ok i have this program working using c-strings. I am wondering if it is possible to read in blocks of unformatted text to a std::string? I toyed arround with if >> but this reads in line by line. I've been breaking my code and banging my head against the wall trying to use std::string, so I thought it was time to enlist the experts. Here's a working program you need to supply a file "a.txt" with some content to make it run. i tried to fool around with: in.read (const_cast<char *>(memblock.c_str()), read_size); but it was acting odd. I had to do std::cout << memblock.c_str() to get it to print. and memblock.clear() did not clear out the string. anyway, if you can think of a way to use STL I would greatly appreciate it. When I want to read in an S-expression stored in a file into a running Common Lisp program, I do the following: (defun load-file (filename) "Loads data corresponding to a s-expression in file with name FILENAME." (with-open-file (stream filename) (read stream))) If, for example, I have a file named foo.txt that contains the S-expression (1 2 3), the above function will return that S-expression if called as follows: (load-file "foo.txt"). The panel which assigned to PopupControlID of the mpe contains a textbox and a button. This button will triggered a page method web service that will return a value to be assigned to the textbox. My problem is when I click the button, after partial post back, the mpe disapper (hide). I tried everything to make it show.
