Ant telnet is hanging on a simple task

When I run ant (version 1.8, in bash) (I have downloaded and copied over the jars for commons-net-2.0 and jakarta-oro-2.0.8 already), this is the output I get: Buildfile: /home/sagar/build.xml telnet: and then it just sits there. When I do a "who" on my server, I can see "System" waiting on login. But there is no progress after this. I can telnet into the server using normal telnet means (putty, bash, etc). I even tried the full telnet command instead of read/write: <telnet server="10.1.1.1" userid="root" password="root"> Any help is much appreciated! Note: JRE 1.5, Ant 1.8, commons-net version 2.0, jakarta version 2.0.8

Why should I override hashCode() when I override equals() method?

Ok, I have heard from many places and sources that whenever I override the equals() method, I need to override the hashCode() method as well. But consider the following piece of code package test; public class MyCustomObject { int intVal1; int intVal2; public MyCustomObject(int val1, int val2){ intVal1 = val1; intVal2 = val2; } public boolean equals(Object obj){ return (((MyCustomObject)obj).intVal1 == this.intVal1) && (((MyCustomObject)obj).intVal2 == this.intVal2); } public static void main(String a[]){ MyCustomObject m1 = new MyCustomObject(3,5); MyCustomObject m2 = new MyCustomObject(3,5); MyCustomObject m3 = new MyCustomObject(4,5); System.out.println(m1.equals(m2)); System.out.println(m1.equals(m3)); } } Here the output is true, false exactly the way I want it to be and I dont care of overriding the hashCode() method at all. This means that hashCode() overriding is an option rather being a mandatory one as everyone says. I want a second confirmation.

PIC C - Sending 200 values over USB, but it only sends 25 of them...

I have a PIC18F4455 microcontroller which I am trying to use to send 200 values over USB. Basically I am using a for loop and a printf statement to print the values to the usb output stream. However, when the code executes I see in my serial port monitor that it is only sending the first 25 values, then stopping. My PIC C code is below. It will send out the 25th value (and the comma), but not send anything after and not send a newline character. I'm trying to get it to send all the values, then a newline character at the end. performSelector:withObject:afterDelay: not working from scrollViewDidZoom

Hi all, I feel like I should know this but I've been stumped for hours now and I've run out of ideas. The theory is simple, the user manipulates the zoom and positioning in a scrollview using a pinch. If they hold that pinch for a short period of time then the scrollview records the zoom level and content offsets. So I thought I'd start a performSelector:withObject:withDelay on the scrollViewDidZoom delegate method. If it expires then I record the settings. I delete the scheduled call every time scrollViewDidZoom is called and when the pinch gesture finishes. Getting zeros between data while reading a binary file in C

I have a binary data which I am reading into an array of long integers using a C programme. hexdump of the binary data shows, that after first few data points , it starts again at a location 20000 hexa adresses away. hexdump output is as shown below. 0000000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 * 0020000 0000 0000 0053 0000 0064 0000 006b 0000 0020010 0066 0000 0068 0000 0066 0000 005d 0000 0020020 0087 0000 0059 0000 0062 0000 0066 0000 ........ and so on... But when I read it into an array 'data' of long integers. by the typical fread command fread(data,sizeof(*data),filelength/sizeof(*data),fd); It is filling up with all zeros in my data array till it reaches the 20000 location. After that it reads in data correctly. Why is it reading regions where my file is not there? Or how will I make it read only my file, not anything inbetween which are not in file? I know it looks like a trivial problem, but I cannot figure it out even after googling one night.. Can anyone suggest me where I am doing it wrong? Other Info : I am working on a gnu/linux machine. (slax-atma distro to be specific) My C compiler is gcc.

Why does first call to java.io.File.createTempFile(String,String,File) take 5 seconds on Citrix?

While debugging slow startup of an Eclipse RCP app on a Citrix server, I came to find out that java.io.createTempFile(String,String,File) is taking 5 seconds. It does this only on the first execution and only for certain user accounts. Specifically, I am noticing it Citrix anonymous user accounts. I have not tried many other types of accounts, but this behavior is not exhibited with an administrator account. Also, it does not matter if the user has access to write to the given directory or not. If the user does not have access, the call will take 5 seconds to fail. If they do have access, the call with take 5 seconds to succeed. This is on a Windows 2003 Server. I've tried Sun's 1.6.0_16 and 1.6.0_19 JREs and see the same behavior. I googled a bit expecting this to be some sort of known issue, but didn't find anything. It seems like someone else would have had to have run into this before. The Eclipse Platform uses File.createTempFile() to test various directories to see if they are writeable during initialization and this issue adds 5 seconds to the startup time of our application. I imagine somebody has run into this before and might have some insight. Here is sample code I executed to see that it is indeed this call that is consuming the time. SQL UNION ALL with a INNER JOIN

I'm looking for the best way to display all rows from two tables while joining first by one field (dwg) then where applicable a 2nd join on part. Table1 data consists of schematics(dwg) along with a list of parts required to build the item depicted in the drawing. Table2 consists of data about the actual parts ordered to build the schematic. Some parts in table2 are a combination of parts in table1 (ex: foo and bar in table1 were ordered as foobar in table2). I can display all rows in both tables with UNION ALL, but this doesn't join on both the dwg and part fields. I looked at FULL OUTER JOIN also, but I haven't figured out how to join first by dwg, then by part. LinQ XML mapping to a generic type

I´m trying to use an external XML file to map the output from a stored procedure into an instance of a class. The problem is that my class is of a generic type: public class MyValue<T> { public T Value { get; set; } } Searching through a lot of blogs an articles I've managed to get this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Database Name="" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/linqtosql/mapping/2007"> <Table Name="MyValue" Member="MyNamespace.MyValue`1" > <Type Name="MyNamespace.MyValue`1"> <Column Name="Category" Member="Value" DbType="VarChar(100)" /> </Type> </Table> <Function Method="GetResourceCategories" Name="myprefix_GetResourceCategories" > <ElementType Name="MyNamespace.MyValue`1"/> </Function> </Database> The MyNamespace.MyValue`1 trick works fine, and the class is recognized. I expect four rows from the stored procedure, and I'm getting four MyValue<string> instances, but the big problem is that the property Value for the all four instances is null. The property is not getting mapped and I don't really get why. Maybe worth noting that the property Value is generic, and that when the mapping is done using attributes it works perfect. Anyone have a clue? Evaluating Javascript Arrays

I have an array that contains an array of arrays if that makes any sense. so for example: [[1, 2, 3], [2, 3, 4], [3, 4, 5], [4, 5, 6]] I want to see whether an array exists withing the array, so if [1, 2, 3] is duplicated at all. I have tried to use the .indexOf method but it does find the duplicate. I have also tried Extjs to loop through the array manually and to evaluate each inner array, this is how I did it: var arrayToSearch = [[1, 2, 3], [2, 3, 4], [3, 4, 5], [4, 5, 6]]; var newArray = [1, 2, 3]; Ext.each(arrayToSearch, function(entry, index){ console.log(newArray, entry); if(newArray == entry){ console.log(index); }; }); This also does not detect the duplicate. the console.log will output [1, 2, 3] and [1, 2, 3] but will not recognize them as equal. I have also tried the === evaluator but obviously since == doesn't work the === wont work. I am at wits end, any suggestions.

An event has many artists, and an artist has many events. The join of an artist and an event is called a performance. I want to add artists to an event. This works except that I'm getting duplicate entries into my join table when creating a new event. How do I display a view as if it's the front page via a module?

I have a simple view that feeds a home page. I have a custom module that registers some specific URLs in hook_menu that I pass into my module so I can pass them as arguments into the view. I can get the module to display the view all right, but it doesn't use the teaser/is_front view that outputs when I access the home page. I looked through the APIs but I can't seem to figure out how I can output the view via my module as if it's the front page, meaning $is_front is true and the teasers would appear. The reason I'm not passing in the arguments via the URL bar into the view itself is: My argument list is known and finite The argument order is mixed, meaning I will sometimes have /argument1, /argument1/argument2 or just /argument2. I only want to capture the first level URL as an argument for specific, known strings (e.g. I don't want to pass /admin into my view but I do want to pass in /los-angeles, which I register in the menu system via hook_menu in my module) Here are some examples to make this more clear: /admin - loads the admin page /user - loads the login page /boston - passes into the first argument of the view; shows in front/teaser mode / - shows view with no arguments /bread - passes into argument 2 of the view; shows in front/teaser mode /boston/bread - Passes into argument 1 and 2 of the view; shows in front/teaser mode Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way? How can I obtain the local TCP port and IP Address of my client program?

Hello! I'm prepping for a simple work project and am trying to familiarize myself with the basics of socket programming in a Unix dev environment. At this point, I have some basic server side code and client side code setup to communicate. Currently, my client code successfully connects to the server code and the server code sends it a test message, then both quit out. Perfect! That's exactly what I wanted to accomplish. Now I'm playing around with the functions used to obtain info about the two environments (server and client). I'd like to obtain the local IP address and dynamically assigned TCP port of the client. I'm trying to use Android Maps, following the instructions in Hello MapView. I've added <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" /> in the Manifest, and I'm building against the 'Google APIs' target, which claims to be API version 7. Free utility which runs in Linux to create a UML class diagram from Java source files

I prefer to jot down UML-diagrams on paper and then implement them using Java. It would be nice to have a utility which could create UML-diagrams for me which I may share on-line and include in the digital documentation. In other words: I want to create UML diagrams from Java source code. The utility must be able to: Run in Linux. Handle Generics, i.e show List<Foo correctly in parameters and return type. Show class inheritance and interface implementations. It's nice if the utility is able to: Run in Windows and Mac OS X. Display enums in some nice manner. Generate output in a diagram format which I may modify using some other utility. Run from the command line. Restrict the UML generation to a set of packages which I may specify. Handle classes/interfaces which are not part of my source code. It could include the first class/interface which is external in the UML diagram. Perhaps in another color to indicate it being a library/framework created by someone else. Focuses on this task and doesn't try to solve the whole issue of documentation.

wscript.shell running file with space in path with PHP

I was trying to use wscript.shell through COM objects with php to pass some cmd commands to cURL library (the DOS version). here is what I use to perform this task: function windExec($cmd,$mode=''){ // Setup the command to run from "run" $cmdline = "cmd /C $cmd"; // set-up the output and mode if ($mode=='FG'){ $outputfile = uniqid(time()) . ".txt"; $cmdline .= " > $outputfile"; $m = true; } else $m = false; // Make a new instance of the COM object $WshShell = new COM("WScript.Shell"); // Make the command window but dont show it. $oExec = $WshShell->Run($cmdline, 0, $m); if ($outputfile){ // Read the tmp file. $retStr = file_get_contents($outputfile); // Delete the temp_file. unlink($outputfile); } else $retStr = ""; return $retStr; } now when I run this function like: windExec("\"C:/Documents and Settings/ermac/Desktop/my project/curl\" http://www.google.com/", 'FG'); curl doesn't run because there is a problem with the path. but when I remove the spaces from the path it works great. windExec("\"C:/curl\" http://www.google.com/", 'FG'); so my question is how can I escape these spaces in wscript.shell commands? is there anyway I can fix this? thanks in advance :)

Get the key and value of Map that is used Inside another Map (JAVA)

I am using a map inside another map, The key of the outer map is Integer and the value is another Map. I get the values as expected but I don't know how to get the key and value of teh inner map. Value: " + entry.getValue() + "\n"); } } Out put of my Map Key: 20 Value: {6331=0, 6330=1, 6329=1, 6328=0, 6335=1, 6437=0, 6436=1} The value in the above output is another map. How can I get the key and value of the inner map from the value of the outer map? Like Keys of inner map = 6331, 6330, 6329 .... and values of inner map = 0 , 1 , 1 , 0 ... Thanks

Code picks up value from selectOneMenu and selectBooleanCheckbox, even though it is not rendered

I've got code the following code in my .xhtml <t:panelGroup rendered="false"> <t:selectOneMenu id="id" value="#{row.someValue}" displayValueOnly="#{form.readState}"> <f:selectItems value="#{row.listOfValues}"/> </t:selectOneMenu> </t:panelGroup> The listOfValues is set in a form populator, and is thus present in the form object. Also, as expected, the portion outlined above is not rendered in the output HTML. But, when clicking the save button in the page the following code tries to get the value from the XHTML, even though it is not rendered. It will thus not copy the value present in the form, but set it to null (as it is not set in the XHTML). object1.setSomeValue(form.getSomeValue()); As far as I can see this only happens with selectBooleanCheckbox and selectOneMenu. E.g. inputText works fine. Any idea on how to fix it?
