• [SQL] Full-text search CONTAINSTABLE

  Hello, I have a question regarding a CONTAINSTABLE function. I would like to find everything that ENDS WITH the search string. I can use the * to find everything that starts with the searchvalue, but I want an equivalent for the % sign in the SQL LIKE function. What I want: find everything that ends with 123, so as searchvalue, I could use "*123" in my CONTAINSTABLE function. But that doesn't work.. If I want all results starting with 123, I use "123*", and that works well. But what's the equivalent for -- LIKE %123 ?? it isn't "*123" in the CONTAINSTABLE function. What is it then? Thanks!

  Hello everybody, I'm starting on a new iPhone project, and this application mostly relies on mySQL. I have a mysql database running on my computer, and I need this application to send queries to the server to gain information. One example is creating and logging into an account. I have successfully done this on my windows vb.net application, but I know that objective c will be harder. This is basically getting text from the sql database and displaying it on the iPhone application. If someone could simply help me on that, I'll easily get started.   Hello, I have a Page.xaml file and a AddNewProject.xaml. In the Page.xaml file I have a ProjectDetailsDataGrid and a button to add a new Project. When I click on the Add New Project button the AddNewProject.xaml file becomes visible for the user to enter new project information. I am having a problem trying to refresh the ProjectDetailsDataGrid (on the Page.xaml page) to display the new info. entered from the AddNewProject.xaml page. Is there anyway to accomplish refreshing a datagrid between two seperate xaml files? Thank you for your help.

  Hello, I have a comprehension question about Android Services. I have a Service that performs background http operations and a Activity that should display the current state of these http operations. So I implementet the Binder interface and so on. I can call the bindService method and onServiceConnected of my ServiceConnnection is getting called. But as far as I know, onBind doesn't calls onStartCommand() and so onStart() of the Service is never called. So how can I call the onStart() method of the service class and start my operations. Or how is the best way to start my operations in the service, when I also want a binding between the Activity and the Service.

  Hello I am using Ejb3 and JPA (based on Hibernate and Oracle 10g at the moment) I have an entity that contains a clob @Entity @Table(name = "My_TAB") public class ExampleEntity implements java.io.Serializable { private Clob someText; public void setSomeText(Clob someText) { this.someText= someText; } @Column(name = "COLUMN_NAME") public Clob getSomeText() { return this.someText; } Then I want to save an entity of this type. At the moment I am doing the following which works perfectly ExampleEntity exampleEntity = new ExampleEntity(); exampleEntity.setSomeText(Hibernate.createClob(aStringValue)); someOtherDao.save(exampleEntity); However this ties my code to Hibernate! I have specifically avoided so far Hibernate extensions and used only JPA annotations. The code works because indeed Hibernate is my current implementation. Is there some sort of JPA API that allows me to create a clob in a generic way? So if later I decide to switch to Toplink/EclipseLink or something else I won't have to change a thing?

  Hello all, I would like to scan text of textfiles in Matlab with the textscan function. Before I can open the textfile with fid = fopen('C:\path'), I need to unzip the files first. The files have the extension: *.gz There are thousands of files which I need to analyze and high performance is important. I have two ideas: (1) Use an external program an call it from the command line in Matlab (2) Use a Matlab 'zip'toolbox. I have heard of gunzip, but don't know about its performance. Does anyone knows a way to unzip these files as quick as possible from within Matlab? Thanks!

  Hello all, I am trying to escape special characters in a TSQL query. I have done this before: SELECT columns FROM table WHERE column LIKE '%\%%' ESCAPE '\' And it has worked. Now I have tried to do this now: UPDATE match SET rule_name='31' ESCAPE '\' But it has failed. I know none of the vlaues have a \ but it should still work. I am guessing its because it needs a LIKE statement but how else can I escape characters that I am adding to a database? In addition, does anyone have a link to all the special characters that should be escaped, I couldn't find any documentation on this! Thanks all for any help

  hello, i am trying to implement a graph which a uiview draws. There are 3 UIViews to animate a left/right slide. The problem is, that i can't cancel the UIView animation. So I replaced the UIViews by CALayer. Now, the question is if CALayer is appicable for this? Is it normal to draw on a CALayer like this? And why is a CALayer so slow when I manipulate the frame properties. CGRect frame = curve.frame; frame.origin.x -= diffX; [curve setFrame:frame]; Is there a alternativ? P.S. I am a german guy.   Hello i am learning python(so i can use qt with python not only c++) and i'm curios if it would be possible to embed a python interpreter in my application as a repl. I would like to give users to possibility to script the app using python either loading a file (and that file to act as a plugin for the app) or by evaluating code entered in a text box or something like that. Just like you can embed the interpreter in C or C++ and script the app using python can this be done if the application is itself written in python(and made a stand-alone binary using py2exe or something similar)? something like Anders did with the C# repl or Miguel with mono.   Hello. I want to estimate the noise in an image. Let's assume the model of an Image + White Noise. Now I want to estimate the Noise Variance. My method is to calculate the Local Variance (3*3 up to 21*21 Blocks) of the image and then find areas where the Local Variance is fairly constant (By calculating the Local Variance of the Local Variance Matrix). I assume those areas are "Flat" hence the Variance is almost "Pure" noise. Yet I don't get constant results. Is there a better way? Thanks.

  Hello, How can I, using jQuery, set the "next" item of an already selected item as "selected." For example, if I have: <select> <option value="1" >Number 1</option> <option value="2" selected="selected">Number 2</option> <option value="3" >Number 3</option> <option value="4" >Number 4</option> </select> We can see that "Number 2" is selected, and using jQuery, I'd like to set "Number 3" as selected, and remove the selected "attribute" from "Number 2".
