  Hi, I'm getting a "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject" error when I'm running my application as a JAR file. When running it in Eclipse everything is working fine. The application properly access the main class and the main method. But when it tries to load the application context it cannot resolve a reference to an EJB bean. I then get the following error: Error creating bean with name 'bc' defined in class path resource [blabla.xml]: Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/ejb/EJBObject at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.BeanDefinitionValueResolver .resolveReference(BeanDefinitionValueResolver.java:275) ... Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject I've included all runtime-scoped dependencies with Maven in the JAR file. Do you know any further information regarding this error?

• Using JSON with jRails

  I am currently trying to use AJAX in my application via jRails. I am trying to return a JSON object from my controller, and then parse it in my Javascript. I am using json2.js to do the parsing. Here is the code I currently have: function getSomething() { $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "map/testjson", success: function(data) { var myData = JSON.parse(data[0]); window.alert(myData.login); } }); } and in the controller: class Map::MapController < ApplicationController def index end def testjson @message = User.find(:all) ActiveRecord::Base.include_root_in_json = false respond_to do |w| w.json { render :json => @message.to_json } end end end The window.alert simply says 'undefined' (without tics). However, if I change the javascript to window.alert(data) (the raw object returned by the controller) I get: [{"salt":"aSalt","name":"", "created_at":"2010-03-15T02:34:25Z","remember_token_expires_at": null,"crypted_password":"aPassword", "updated_at":"2010-03-15T02:34:25Z","id":1,"remember_token":null, "login":"zgwrig2","email":"[email protected]"}] This looks like an array of size 1, if I'm looking at it correctly, but I have tried just about every combination of JSON.parse on the data object that I can think of, and nothing seems to work. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong here?

• MessageBox doesn't show on mdi form after a long calculation

  Hello This is a very similar problem to This one, sadly that one was never answered either. I have a MDI Main forum that hosts several children forms. One of them does a long calculation and throws an exception if an error occurs (all work is done on the same thread). I then try to inform the user of an error with an messagebox, however it doesn't appear (but steals focus from the MDI Main, so the application is completely unresponsive). The beheviour changes slightly if I call Application.DoEvents() (evil I know, but this is a last resort thing). Then the forms remain completely active and the messagebox only appears after I change active application (Alt+Tab) to something else and then back again. What can I do to make sure the messagebox will be visible? I have already tried passing both, active child and MDI Main as parameter to the MessageBox.Show method. It doesn't change the behaviour.

What else do I need to conform to the protocol?

  Just learning how Open-ESB (GlassFishESB) works and evaluating it for a project. One point I do not understand is that if I have a Composite application bound to an incoming web service (hosted on the glassfish server) can I get muple composite applications to consume this message ? If so is it done by A) simply deploying the multiple composite applications each referencing the save URL and same WSDL B) include each JBI module in the CASA editor and deploy a single composite application with all parts included (will this reduce scaling?) C) create a new composite application which has a BPEL process to send the in message to new endpoints for each compisite applciation . My feeling is that option A should work?

• Can't finish Eclipse Plug-in Project Wizard when choosing RCP

  I'm trying create a RCP Application with Eclipse, but I can't get past the 'Content' screen of the New Plug-in Project Wizard. When I select 'yes' for "Rich Client Application, Would you like to create a rich client application" it disables the Next and the Finish Button. I first thought it is due to my target platform which is Eclipse 3.2, but changing that doesn't make a difference. On the top of the screen only one task is displayed (now warnings about missing or incompatible information): Enter the data required to generate the plug-in My Eclipse Version is 3.5 Any ideas?   Hello We have a ASP .Net application whereby we use Log4Net to log details within the app - nothing new there - and the rolling log filenames are in the usual format of: rolling-log.txt rolling-log.txt.1 rolling-log.txt.2 etc. A each user of the application adds to the logfile, the logfile can be difficult to read for a specific user's case and so, we'd like to modify the config file somehow to record the user's log details individually, each writing to a specific file, e.g. <applicationId>rolling-log.txt <applicationId>rolling-log.txt.1 <applicationId>rolling-log.txt.2 etc. where is each user's unique application Id, made up of a five digit number, e.g. 12345rolling-log.txt Any ideas on the best way to implement this, assuming that it's possible? • Web service creates stack overflow

  I have an application that when executed as a windows application works fine, but when converted to a web service, in some instances (which were tested successfully) by the windows app) creates a stack overflow. Do you have an idea of what can cause this? (Note that it works fine when the web service is placed on the localhost). Could it be that the stack size of a Web Service is smaller than that of a Window Application? • Setting the default jsp view with spring mvc

  I want to set one of jsp files in my jsps folder as the default view for the application. Is there any way we can tell in that abc.jsp needs to be default and it can be found in such and such path. Also the url pattern is html so is there a way it can be mapped in Spring MVC. For example - When a user types www.example.com , I want the application to direct to abc.jsp page and also when someone types www.example.com/something, even then application should direct to abc.jsp, but the url pattern shouldnt be compromised. • Is there a web-based VNC client that I can use from my own web site? [closed]

  I'm interested in being able to control one of my computers remotely, without having to download and install a bunch of software on every machine I want to access my computer from. Is there a VNC client or RDP software that can be embedded in a web page? I realize this seems like it might be a web application based question, but the web application portion would only end up being one small portion of the whole solution. Would VNC really be the way to go for this?

  Hi All, I am new to Jboss and deployment of web applications etc. I have two different war files deployed on the same Jboss server. Further they also share some classes which read different properties based on the application settings (Let's call a common class as CommonClass.class which is present in App1.war and App2.war; CommonClass has a member "FIELD1", so both these war files have CommonClass.class each of which reads different properties, into CommonClass.FIELD1). But during run-time when I access FIELD1 in one application (App2.war-CommonClass.FIELD1) it has the value from another application (App1.war-CommonClass.FIELD1). Is there any way I can explicitly specify so that JBoss treats these classes and fields to be different? so that both these classes can exist in memory yet hold their respective correct values?   I'm trying to test a multi-tenant MVC application (in VS2012) locally by setting a subdomain on localhost. The application is currently running on localhost:5252. I want to access it via both that address, and contoso.localhost:5252. In my hosts file I added the following: 127.0.0.1 contoso.localhost I'm using IISExpress... when I navigate to contoso.localhost locally, I just get the IIS page. What am I doing wrong?

• C# SerialPort.GetPortNames() behavior

  In my C# 2008 application, I use the SerialPort.GetPortNames() function to retrieve the list of currently available ports. What I have noticed is, when ever I plug in a USB device, it's port number i s shown in the list on my Application and when I unplug it and refresh the list, the port number is no longer there. One phase of the application involves reading/writing data from/to the device continuously. Now, my expectation is, If I unplug the device during the operation and get the current Port list using SerialPort.GetPortNames(), the Port Name will not be there and I can use that to make the decision that the device has been unplugged. To my surprise, the Port name is still found despite having it removed Why is the program behaving like this? The port name isn't listed when in no-communication mode. Does it have something to do with the device being removed when it's communicating?

  I am using Apache fop-0.95 to build pdf files from a JSP web application on IBM iSeries V5R4 using Websphere 6.0. Everything works perfect in my development using Websphere Development Studio client. When I put the application on the server, I get an error at this line. FopFactory fopFactory = FopFactory.newInstance(); The error is: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: javax/imageio/ImageIO Does anyone know how I can fix this error? All of the fop class files are part of the EAR file. The files were installed to the projects \WEB-INF\lib directory. I have added the fop jar files to the classpath, using the admin console. • Custom view in iPhone SDK gets placed incorrectly in realation to statusbar

  (ragh, i'm apparently not allowed to post images, so i have included links to the images in this post instead of embedding them) Im writing an iPhone application based on the navigation controller template, but I am not loading the actual navigation controller as the first view in the window. I create a new view controller from a xib, and then add that as a subview, and then only push the navigation view as a modal when i need it. • What is Silverlight's relationship -- if any -- to WPF?

  I was working with a WPF application and I decided that the controls and graphics I wanted to display on the grid might look better if it was a silverlight component. I thought this way because of all the cool silverlight controls that look very flash-like. But now that I have gottem my Visual Studio 2010 set up with SIlverlight, it seems that every silverlight app I can make are ASP.NET in nature. It seems that instead of a cool GUI control to make, Silverlight is telling me that it is primarely a dataflow sort of application for the web. What is the relationship, if any, between WPF and Silverlight. Can I or can I not put a silverlight control into my existing WPF application?

  Hi, I have a C#-application running on Windows 7. I am using Watin to test some flash and quicktime movies in Internet Explorer. I am running in x64 mode due to some memory limitations I encountered in x86-mode. So I run my application which uses Watin, which starts MSIE. Watin starts the 64-bit version of MSIE. So far so good. The problem is, flash and quicktime do not seem to work in MSIE 64-bit, so testing playing of movies will not work. What must be done to run my C# application in 64-bit mode but to get Watin to run MSIE in 32-bit mode?

• Preloading Winforms

  I am currently working on a project where we have a couple very control heavy user controls that are being used inside a MDI Controller. This is a Line of Business app and it is very data driven. The problem that we were facing was the aforementioned controls would load very very slowly, we dipped our toes into the waters of multi-threading for the control loading but that was not a solution for a plethora of reasons. Our solution to increasing the performance of the controls ended up being to 'pre-load' the forms onto a hidden window, create a stack of the existing forms, and pop off of the stack as the user requested a form. Now the current issue that I'm seeing that will arise as we push this 'fix' out to our testers, and the ultimately our users is this: Currently the 'hidden' window that contains the preloaded forms is visible in task manager, and can be shut down thus causing all of the controls to be lost. Then you have to create them on the fly losing the performance increase. Secondly, when the user uses up the stack we lose the performance increase (current solution to this is discussed below). For the first problem, is there a way to hide this window from task manager, perhaps by creating a parent form that encapsulates both the main form for the program and the hidden form? Our current solution to the second problem is to have an inactivity timer that when it fires checks the stacks for the forms, and loads a new form onto the stack if it isn't full. However this still has the potential of causing a hang in the UI while it creates the forms. A possible solutions for this would be to put 'used' forms back onto the stack, but I feel like there may be a better way.

  Since one of my scripts got incredibly complex, i was benchmarking the performance of moving some javascript processing logic to the server side in my ASP.NET MVC 4 application. According to taskmgr.exe, IIS Express only utilizes 13% of my i7. I decided to throw in 3 parallel tasks calculating the fibonacci sequence up to 50 and the IIS express still wouldn't utilize more than 13% of my cpu. Is there anything i can do, so that the application utilizes the full cpu, as it would in a real server ?
